    Pink Floyd

he still wasn't a full time member when the album was recorded, it was basically a gilmour solo project. nick mason didn't contribute much either. this was during the time period when waters was trying to sue the rest of the band for the pink floyd name...which i suspect had something to do with wright not being a full time member yet.

    Pink Floyd

i don't understand your confusion. when waters left, wright became a member of the band again...which includes all of those albums you listed.

it's because he's dead. he wasn't writing any songs so waters got pissed and kicked him out of the band. he was hired as a session musician for the wall tour and joined the band again after waters left.

    Sparta

the good news is that it can't be any worse than their last album.
  6. definitely has a talking heads vibe. i like it.
  7. Scorsese and robbie were roommates and friends, I expect this will not be an unbiased account. Fuck robbie Robertson.
  8. Frankie and the Witch Fingers- Zam. High energy psychedelic garage rock. If you like The Oh Sees you should love this band. Favorite Track- Dracula Drug https://youtu.be/cSKXH24xQ5A King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard- Infest the Rats' Nest. They made a thrash metal album and it's fucking great. Very technical and prog metal at times. Favorite track: Self Immolate https://youtu.be/aHGI749-OLA The Well- Death and Consolation. Stoner metal, Sabbath riffs, great album. Favorite Track: Eyes of a God https://youtu.be/rsJoRbPoSow Steve Gunn- The Unseen In Between. Mellow modern folk, similar to Kurt Vile. Excellent guitar playing and great melodies. Album has the open atmospheric feel of a road trip. Favorite Track: Vagabond https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6-dwxvTQd0 The Growlers- Natural Affair. Continuing to progress their sound, this album is a mix of pop/funk often with a disco or reggae beat. Some solid songs and excellent lyrical themes. Favorite Track: Social Man https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlF7LOqp6xY Night Beats- Myth of a Man. Mellow R&B psych record recorded in Nashville with session musicians. A significant change from their last album but it grew on me a lot. Favorite Track: Her Cold Heart https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MYXBo2pdpUw&list=RDMYXBo2pdpUw&start_radio=1 Desert Sessions- Vol 11 + 12. Interesting collaborations and sounds. I like this more than the last QOTSA record. Favorite Track: Something You Can't See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8XIOz5E5ug&feature=emb_logo Sturgill Simpson- Sound and Fury. I don't mind the synths at all, feel like these songs are way stronger than anything on the last album. Favorite Track: Make Art Not Friends https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0-mjAB_Mig Mikal Cronin- Seeker. Same power pop as his previous albums but the lyrics and songs are darker with some nice string arrangements. Favorite Track: Show Me https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAC9bZjGv-U DIIV- Deceiver. Dark grunge/shoegaze with some good hooks. Favorite Track: Skin Game https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAC9bZjGv-U

i like the latest desert sessions album more than the last qotsa album.
  11. this is the same lady who threw a fit about lou's bodega gentrifying the neighborhood and held a protest outside. but apparently as long as she has a stake in it, gentrification is totally cool.
  12. i'm not at all surprised you like that song. it's terrible.
  13. the long and winding road on let it be. can't skip that one fast enough.
  14. i don't care too much for either of their albums but i think they're pretty great live.
  15. i enjoyed it but thought the crowd was pretty terrible. couldn't get away from people talking.
  16. firmly in this camp, abw is highly overrated. what beers did you have that were good?
  17. yeah, me too. get there early enough to check out think no think.
  18. around christmas is one of the busiest times of the year at big bend. you should still be able to find a camping spot as long as you're ok with backcountry.
  19. What do you want to know? Go. Have tamales. Drink tequila.
  20. saw a bunch of great stuff at levitation festival this past weekend. a place to bury strangers, frankie and the witch fingers, and monolord were my personal favorites. somehow 3 straight nights of staying out until 2am didn't kill me.
  21. as great of a guy as he seems to be...it's not that hard to replace a drummer.
  22. there's a black crowes billboard on e 7th street.
  23. opener typically starts an hour after doors. emo's usually sends out an email to ticket holders with set times.
  24. the lead singer is kind of a big deal to most fans, whether or not that lead singer is an asshole is largely irrelevant.
