  1. Great choice on the Brother vs Omar scene. The Wire is my favorite show of all time and that is my favorite scene from it, I can still recite every line from that scene. I also love the scene in Breaking Bad where Walt is under the house and he starts maniacally laughing as the camera slowly rises up Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  2. If youre interested in that kind of thing, read the book Public Enemies by Bryan Burroughs. The Johnny Depp movie adaptation (which I'm not a huge fan of) mainly focused on Dillinger but the book takes more of a whole view on the crime wave at the time, also looking at Baby Face Nelson, Machine Gun Kelley, Pretty Boy Floyd, Bonnie and Clyde, and the Barker-Karpis gang as well as the rise of the FBI under J Edgar Hoover's leadership during that time. It's one of my favorite books and it talks about why America was so behind a lot of these guys for a while. But long story short, like the poster above me mentioned, it was a product of its time, being the Great Depression. Everyone felt like they were being held down by the man and thus they enjoyed and rallied around these people who were seemingly "sticking it to the man" Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  3. Definitely a good choice here, I've read this one and it's a great read.
  4. Idk exactly how that works but I'm an accountant with a client who didn't even make it past his 1st year in the league and he gets a massive pension so I'm sure Garrett Gilbert has got that locked down now. He's probably made some decent enough money through the league Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  5. That was season 1 of the Surreal Life on VH1, I used to watch all the Celebreality stuff on VH1 back then. In the same vein, CC Deville was also on the 6th and final season of that show.
  6. It wasn't that sanitized. Hell the movie (just like the book) opens with the damn squirter scene. They also had the pool scene with Ozzy, Nikki's heroin issues etc.. They had an hour and a half to cover about 15 years of their career, they can't have every "Dirt"-y thing they ever did in the movie, I don't really get the whole sanitized talk. That being said, I probably would have been one of the few ones to enjoy this, but being the fan I am, I wish they could have made it a 3 part mini-series or something. It felt like they just had to rush through their whole career to quickly to fit everything in.
  7. Seriously, that's fuckin stupid as hell. It also clearly says "Austin, Texas" on it so not like anyone is confusing that DBU as Dallas Baptist University
  8. I may be biased (die-hard fan of Motley Crue and that whole Sunset Strip Era, Faster Pussycat, LA Guns, Dokken, etc. etc.) but I loveddd this movie, totally lived up to my expectations of what I was looking for. I can understand for a casual observer how the movie was good not great, but for a 27 year old who is a die-hard fan of that genre who didn't actually get to live through it, it was cool to see a movie adaptation of that story, I really enjoyed it.
  9. Just came here to post the same thing. I'm currently in the process of rewatching GOT right now, I'm half way through season 3 so I'm right in the midst of this dude's evilness. Can't think of a more punchable face
  10. Yeah that was an awesome watch, thanks for sharing. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  11. Man, I'm loving this album. I've been familiar with Gary Clark Jr for a while but had never really listened to him. A couple months ago I listened to a few songs of his to check it out and I liked what I heard but just never made it through the Gary Clark Jr wormhole. After hearing This Land the other day, I listened to all 3 of his albums at work and damn.....the dude's good, I don't know why I waited so long to get into his stuff. I'm really loving his second album, The Story of Sonny Boy Slim, "The Healing" is a killer track.
  12. Where are these masses of people? I park in the garage that lines up next to what used to be the old Bevo Boulevard and there's small groups of people in the corner that are tailgating out of the way but never seen it as an issue. The people tailgating in the garage are in the corner out of the way but there's always going to be large amounts of people walking through the garage, walking all the way to one of the only 2 staircases there. I understand the sentiment and ain't really complaining but I don't think that rule is going to do anything to get people out of the way of vehicles in that tight ass garage. I usually go all the way to the top level or two where no one else is and park facing the stadium and have a few beers with whoever I have brought to the game with me that week. Can't have someone coming up to patrol for compliance of this new rule while we're trying to smoke a bowl in my truck 🤣
  13. 🤣🤣 Fuck that smug arrogant piece of shit. How stupid can you be? The dude is a billionaire, he can hire the best escorts money can buy and he's trolling for rub and tugs at a strip mall Asian massage parlor in Jupiter, Fl
  14. Super stoked for this. In my days at UT, I found a book about Bonnie and Clyde at Half Price Books and went down the rabbit hole of reading books about this era of gagsters and criminals, John Dillinger, Baby Face Nelson, Machine Gun Kelly, Barker-Karpis Gang, etc. Public Enemies was one of my favorite books but I wasn't the biggest fan of the movie. This movie though looks pretty solid.
  15. Anyone ever heard of Lost Dog Street Band? I was listening to Tyler Childers radio on Google Play at work today and came across one of their songs and got hooked on them. Their stuff is great, it's a husband and wife duo, they play real stripped down folksy stuff. The singer Benjamin Tod has some solo stuff as well that's also really good. 17. Wtf, Tiki Barber-"it's been a long time since there has been football in the Alamodome, 2005 with the Saints to be exact". The Alamodome has the Alamo Bowl every year, the US Army All American game every year, UTSA, high school play off games, etc. etc. Lol Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  18. Depending on the day, when I wasn't taking the West Campus bus home, I would cross this crosswalk on my walk back home. I was there about 5-10 minutes before this happened, wish I would have stuck around a little longer. Considering this, coupled with the story I just posted above, I definitely became more wary of my surroundings on my walks home to avoid being on the receiving end of one of those buses
  19. I'm not entirely sure about that in regards specifically to liquor but there are definitely plenty of places all around with more stringent regulations than we have. I know in Maryland and Connecticut, you can't even buy beer at "grocery stores or Walgreens", let alone liquor....can't buy beer in gas stations either. If you want beer, you have to go to the liquor store. I didn't spend as much time in Rhode Island or some of those other states around there but I think there's a lot of places like that. I can't imagine living somewhere where you can't just stroll into the corner store and grab a case of beer or grab beer at a grocery store while you're grabbing your groceries. Not to mention states like OK where the beer is weaker. We've got it better than many states but I still think the no liquor on Sunday rule is antiquated and needs to go away.
  20. This is not surprising at all to hear, most of the bus drivers there drive like complete lunatics. I remember taking the West Campus bus to and from campus while I was going to school there and was often amazed at how recklessly they were driving. I was actually on a bus that struck a bike rider one time, although in this case, it was the bike riders fault and not the bus driver's. I was taking the West Campus bus home from campus one day, we were crossing Guadalupe over to WC right by where the Burger King used to be (now it's an In-N-Out) and right as were about to cross the crosswalk on the Burger King side, some idiot on a bike decides to ignore that the crosswalk sign says don't cross and doesn't look to see if a car is coming and the bus I was on struck him as soon as he left the sidewalk and into the street. I was standing on the bus and was looking directly forward out the front and I can still see the split-second look of sheer horror in the dude's face as he turned around and saw the bus right before it smacked him and can still hear the loud thud. The bike ended up a tangled mess under the bus but luckily the rider got away with probably nothing more than a concussion and a few bumps and bruises.
  21. Maybe (but probably not) this will finally put an end to all the "dude give it a rest, he's not coming here" stuff I see on here all the time. College football is weird as shit, even when a guy signs his LOI, it still ain't over.
  22. I understand and respect his decision, I hope he kills it in the NFL, would love to see him with the Cowboys. But damn this one sucks. this year, he turned into probably one of my top 5 favorite Longhorns of all time. Not saying he's one of the 5 best by any means but I just loved watching the way that dude played. Hook Em LJ, best of luck in the NFL! Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  23. Georgia over Texas is interesting. If only there was some kind of objective way to determine who the better team is 🤔
  24. Is that available for purchase anywhere? I need some kind of shirt to commemorate the occasion Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
