  1. Didn't deserve a nomination or a chance to win? Because it doesn't have a chance to win.
  2. Hell, Gerwig SHOULD get nominated for making a movie about Barbie remotely interesting and entertaining. That was a hell of a trick.
  3. They were getting divorced whether they "opened" up their marriage or not. Amen. A second cousin of mine is involved in a throuple. I'd never heard of this before it was brought up around the dining room island when I was deep into the wine one year at the family Xmas get-together. He was in a relationship with two girls at that time. I nearly spit my wine out in surprise. So you have to dote on two different women and all that AND there weren't threesomes?!?! I feel like you're maybe missing the best part. However, he has now since gotten involved with a throuple with another man as the third. They live in separate houses on the same property and there is a child involved. I have no fucking clue which of them is the biological father. Hey, I'm no kink-shamer. If that works for you, by all means go and have a good time. I just know personally I could never make it work on my end -- unless there were threesomes (not the Devil's variety either /wink).
  4. I think it was discussed further up the thread but Helberg in Waco that just had a fire serves a killer smoked chicken. Best I've ever had. I think they flash-fry it after it comes out of the pit to crisp it up really nice. It's terrific. There must be some difference because Vaughn knows about Aaron's Beard win. Also, Rodney Scott won a James Beard Award shortly after Aaron.

Her reasoning made no sense. She said it was going to become a regular menu item in the next week or two so I should pick a regular dish that isn't going to be replaced? Confusing.
  6. Excellent breakdown. Kind of seems like The Athletic guys were making a concerted effort to be contrarian.
  7. Basically, I've just been peeking in at this thread and checking boxscores. I'll watch a few mins here and there if the game is on up here in Dallas but I have to admit I was a little surprised to see all three Athletic writers pick Chet Holmgren over Victor for ROY at this point. Victor's PER is better but Holmgren's VORP is higher. Victor's raw numbers are much better but Holmgren has a much better supporting cast and isn't the focal point. I also have seen that Victor is getting into a serious groove and could wind up moving past Chet in the second half of the season. In nine January games, Victor is averaging 24.8 points and 9.1 rebounds in 25.3 minutes per game.
  8. Genius level analysis there by Catturd.
  9. These New Hampshire voters don’t love everything Trump says. But here’s why they’re planning to back him https://www.cnn.com/2024/01/22/politics/new-hampshire-trump-voters/index.html Some highlights:
  10. SI was not like most other sports publications in that it was more long-form, "color" writing. It was a weekly, not a daily so therefore the "live" events the mag would write about were already a week old by the time the issue got to your mailbox. Many times, writers were essentially embedded with the teams involved in the game through the front offices, the coaches, the players and so on. It was never meant to compete with ESPN in any fashion. Yes, there were feature-type articles as well and "Insider" note columns by their beat writers. It was the absolute pinnacle of sportswriting/photography for many, many years but I stopped getting it more than a decade ago and haven't missed it a single bit.
  11. Wasn't quite sure where to put this so this seems as good a place as any: https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2024-election/fake-joe-biden-robocall-tells-new-hampshire-democrats-not-vote-tuesday-rcna134984
  12. I think this nails him pretty good. He’s more of a classist than he is a traditional racist. Everything he does is transactional. He knows to be POTUS you must have been born in the US or to US parents with other criteria met. His “birtherism” arguments would’ve invalidated Obama and now Haley from being POTUS, therefore he/Trump wins. I think it’s that simple.

  14. The very last sketch was just awful
  15. I’m going to check it out soon. Did they bump the “Please Don’t Destroy” guys tonight?
  16. Alaska commercial was terrific. The cold open was pretty good.
