  1. We expect that of her at this point.
  2. Don’t knock it til you’ve tried it. Those old bitches are wild!
  3. What a horrible bitch. Her attitude sucks too.
  4. I can’t think of anything more erection-killing than Michael McDonald. Randy Newman maybe.....
  5. My wife makes considerably leas than that, and I haven’t worked in 8 years. I don’t wear lacey lingerie, though. I prefer silk and spandex. Show off my junk.
  6. Agreed. Forgot about Acenar. MM and Blanco Cafe ARE very old-school, but true classics.
  7. Tex-Mex downtown: Mexican Manhattan, The Original Blanco Cafe, and Rosario’s.
  8. Disagree about the Gunter. Never had anything but a positive experience there. We have raised some hell in the 414, also.
  9. Dallas area: I keep hearing that the OF 1920 is getting harder to find. The Fossil Creek Liquors in front of the Marriott Solana conference center had 5 bottles on the shelf for $59. Also had the 1870 and 1897, but were out of the 1910. Was a really decent store in general...
  10. One name that has not been thrown around that could be a fit: Logan Marshall-Green
  11. Passed up a ECBP for $90 today just north of Lufkin. I have regrets.
  12. Along those same lines, let me tell you my mission on a gray and shitty Monday morning. I got it in my head to acquire all 4 Old Forester Whiskey Row offerings as a gift for my bro-in-law who is a novice Bourbon drinker. Figured it was a good gift. Not too expensive. Lots of yield. Lots of comparison. Hopefully some tasting discussions between him and his buddies. He recently sent me a bottle of Weller 12 from the secondary market for MY birthday. I was extremely grateful and flattered, but kinda felt bad for his effort and expense. Wanted to return the favor with a vengeance. I have many interesting stories of the 9 stops that I made (many things I passed up for myself) but suffice to say: mission accomplished! 9 stops. 4 bottles (all at MSRP), 1hr, 45min total time. Felt like a fuckin rock star. Totally made my day that I nailed them all, just in one day. I just figured that karma (or law of averages, whatever) would have me spending weeks hunting the one missing bottle... Anyway...for what it’s worth...that’s my Bourbon success story this week. My good goddam deed for the day.
  13. Agreed. I went on a bourbon-hunting fandango yesterday with 9 stops at independents. Did not encounter any gimmicky NDP bullshit. No hard-sell tactics. Had pleasant conversations about bourbon with knowledgeable staff/owners. Bought some other items as well. Was a pleasure to shop and spend money in these establishments. My last Spec’s experience was in Humble. Was trying to shop leisurely and enjoy some free time, but the overly aggressive “customer service” was so bludgeoning, I couldn’t check out and leave fast enough.
  14. Fuck no. So much other good juice out there. I will wait it out, IF the market ever turns.
  15. Trying to wrap my head around “not having sex to avoid bed rest.”
  16. You have been missing out.
  17. Any holiday. Memorial Day, 4th Of July, and Labor Day are the big 3 and best time to start shopping But you can always shop around President’s Day, Tax Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, etc.
  18. Made some homemade soup for the wife (no pics) who had to work some today, had some wine together, cranked some tunes, hung out. Watched Cool Hand Luke while we ate. Sipping a Weller 12 and just enjoying the peace of a mellow evening.
  19. In Nacogdoches today, popped into a few stores. Continental Liquors is a nice quaint store with some great brown juice and some perfectly acceptable prices. Including Eagle Rare, since so many seem to be on the hunt lately Also saw quite a bit of Angels Envy, Elijah Craig, Old Forester, and others Just a tip for those in the area.
