  1. Imagine being an “In the hole!!” guy. What a horrible existence.
  2. At some point are you going to show live golf shots on your live golf coverage?
  3. Looking like a nice Sunday drive for Max again. They haven’t even shown him in 20 minutes.

    The Boys

Incredible episode. This show is in the groove right now.
  5. Why the fuck is Boston just jacking up 3’s. You’re down 3. Calm down. And there goes Steph being Steph. What a player. Going to miss him when he’s gone.
  6. Seeing that the Dominion talk is just a continuation of a thread from a four year old movie, I think your instinct was correct.
  7. I read an article a while back in GQ or Esquire on this. There is some shitty office in WV that has gun records (assuming stores send in data, which they often do not). They were not allowed to digitize the files, so there were boxes and boxes of paper records that they would have to comb through if they were trying to identify a gun. So, when you see them call in a serial number on your favorite shitty network cop show, know that that report does not come back instantaneously like they show. It takes weeks to get that info back.
  8. After 2+ years, COVID finally came to our family. My wife popped a positive this morning, the first one of us. Myself and the 2 kids (5 and 2) are still negative. Our (26 year old, in shape) nanny is too scared to come in and the kids can't go to school the rest of the week since they've been exposed. Just me and the kids the rest of the week. Going to be a great time. Send booze.
  9. All things considered, Eddie looks fantastic.

    The Wire

Uhhhh, what kind of business were you doing in that area of Baltimore?
  11. Finally got to the theater to see this on Friday. What a stupid and silly movie. The sci-fi of it made no sense, the acting was over the top (especially JLC) and they shoehorned an emotional ending after two hours of absurdity. I loved every minute of it. It all worked for me and I was in tears by the end. What a fucking movie. Michelle Yeoh is a legend and Stephanie Hsu will be around for awhile. The rocks, raccoontouille and hot dog fingers were all so awesome.
  12. I finally finished a couple of the HBO Max shows this week. The Flight Attendant (Season 2) - There were still some things to enjoy, but it was not nearly as good as the 1st. Too much time spent inside her own head. When they did it last season, she at least had a scene partner with Michael Huisman and they were trying to solve the crime. There was a point to it. There were also too many storylines that either went nowhere or had a completely pointless endpoint. Overall, just not nearly as sharp. Tokyo Vice - I enjoyed this one for sure. I would have liked more time with Myamoto and Katagiri on the cop side of things, but that's the largest complaint. Still a great show and I hope it gets the second season, though if it hasn't happened yet, I don't know if it will.

    The Wire

It is great, but the best part of their relationship is the hospital towards the end of Season 1. He fucking hates McNulty but he knows he's a good cop who cares. He doesn't want him to fall apart and lose who he is. Just that bit of grace adds so much to the relationship.
  14. Is this the star maker for Glen Powell I expect it to be?
  15. GA. First time so want the lay of the land before going VIP. I’ll take you up on that beer if we meet up.
  16. When people don't actually have an answer or reasonable argument, they will move to complaining about process and decorum to deflect. That's all this bullshit is.
  17. All of a sudden getting pounded in Highland Park West. Rain coming in horizontal.
  18. Listened this earlier today too. At about 1992, I knew they were running out of real estate.
  19. Holy shit, they brought Kittridge back. That's awesome. I am a Vanessa Kirby enthusiast, so good to see her back as well.
  20. I was under the impression that Cecile, Kate and Aidy were going to leave last year but took their COVID extra year. I haven’t heard anything on Cecily leaving, but it wouldn’t surprise meS. I like all of them but am ready to see them move on. I hope they don’t try to bring on more cast. It’s a pretty full list as it is and Heidi, Ego, Chloe and Sarah Sherman should be able to carry the female side of the show. The mens side is pretty stacked right now too.

    EPL 2021-22

    What a wild morning.
  22. We got a good hour of rain in Highland Park West.
  23. I remembered the broad strokes, so I thumbed back through the book. She had a kid as a teenager and married the father. They were on the outs when she came down to film, so she was in a very different place than the rest of the cast. She apparently was flirtatious with a lot of the guys (particularly Hauser) but had her eye on Jason London, who was with Chrisse Harnos (Kaye) during filming. All of the female cast auditioned for Jodi, but got lesser parts. According to Burke, the other girls, particularly Joey Lauren Adams and Parker Posey were all very bitchy to her because she got the lead. The Shavonne/Simone/Darla car scene was written by Posey and JLA ("that bitch, I'm going to kick her ass...I'm not mad"). Per Burke, that scene was them bitching about her. For JLA and Posey's part, they don't remember being purposefully mean to her, but their roles in the movie were the mean girls and they admit they may have let it bleed into the offscreen dynamics. Basically, she was in a weird place and may have read too much into the other girl's relationship to her. She just didn't fit in with the rest of the crowd. Anyway, the book is a real fun read.
  24. Sounds like a couple of us will be out in Napa next week. We’re just going Friday and maybe Saturday. Sat and Sun lineups aren’t blowing my skirt up. There’s a group of us and they’re mostly interested in pool parties and wine, as opposed to festivals. Hopefully Friday will scratch my wife and I’s festival itch. If any of you see a 6’5” 40 year old dude with shaggy hair around the Fantastic Negrito, Marcus King, Spoon or CHVRCHES stages, come awkwardly say hi. I would wear my “I’m from the internet shirt” but I don’t think my wife will let me.
