  1. Republicans have given up on democracy. Because nothing is better for the future than excluding young, college-educated citizens from voting while allowing Jim Bob from Fritters, Alabama to vote.
  2. Have you all seen this guy? He's a Democrat from North Carolina. Very impressive so far. Just watch this. Dems need to be promoting/branding folks like this as their brand.
  3. Four dead in Maine, three injured: https://fox23maine.com/news/local/sagadahoc-county-sheriff-confirms-incident-bowdoin
  4. The louder the bigot, the deeper the closet.
  5. I didn't know if this goes in LOL or Holy Shit.
  6. It's true that humans are impressionable and that's why these drag shows should be outlawed. Ever since I saw Barney Fife in drag I've had a secret urge to do the same thing.
  7. "Angertainment?" Turnbull is brilliant.
  8. Can those of us who want to see Fox go to trial set up a massive "collection plate" to fund Dominion before (and after, if necessary) to help them keep going?
  9. Great editorial in the Sydney Morning Herald from former Australian PM Malcolm Turnbull calling for a Royal Commission to investigate Rupert Murdoch: https://www.smh.com.au/national/murdoch-succeeded-where-putin-failed-time-for-a-fox-hunt-20230320-p5ctkd.html It does highlight a significant issue: how can western governments allow free speech when a significant portion of their populations are too stupid (see TexAgs or Tiger Droppings) to discern what is true and what is not?
  10. I'm glad you said that because I just checked his stats from last year and they're not too impressive. Of course, when you're a receiver, a lot depends on your QB and in high school that's a crap shoot.
  11. This is pretty amazing. Biden needs to beat Trump or the Republican candidate over the head with this in 2024. In 8 months, more than 200 billion dollars in new tech investments have been announced. From the article: "Companies have committed more than $200bn to US manufacturing projects since Congress passed sweeping subsidies last year, as president Joe Biden’s effort to spark a new industrial revolution gains momentum. The investment in semiconductor and clean tech investments is almost double the commitments made in the same sectors in the whole of 2021, and nearly twenty times the amount in 2019, according to data compiled by the Financial Times. While the FT identified four projects worth at least $1bn each in these sectors in 2019, there were 31 of that size after August 2022. There has been more than $40bn in planned capital spending since the start of the year. Asian giants LG, Hanwha, and LONGI have all announced deals in the past month, taking total large-scale investments to $204bn on April 14. “We see right now the tectonic plates are shifting with respect to investment in the United States,” said US energy secretary Jennifer Granholm this week, referring to the surge of investment in recent months. The Inflation Reduction Act, which became law last August, includes $369bn of tax credits for clean technologies as the Biden administration of pledges to decarbonise the US economy. Another law passed last August, the Chips and Science Act, includes $39bn in funds to stimulate semiconductor manufacturing and $24bn worth of manufacturing tax credits. Both are also designed to break US dependence on Chinese supply chains." https://www.ft.com/content/b1079606-5543-4fc5-acae-2c6c84b3a49f
  12. The temperature of the ocean's surface has broken every record since satellite measurements began in the 1980s. It's gonna be a helluva summer ---- and next summer will probably be worse. https://www.livescience.com/ocean-surface-temperature-record
  13. 11 year old article but it's still true: research shows that low IQ and conservative beliefs are linked to prejudice. https://www.livescience.com/18132-intelligence-social-conservatism-racism.html
  14. People who say that the problem is the guns or the problem is the people are falling for a false dichotomy. The reality is that it's the people WITH the easy access to guns. Take either the people or the guns out of the equation and people wouldn't be dying from gun violence.
  15. What does this mean? The party of Reagan, Lincoln, Goldwater etc... is "never coming back?" Where does that leave conservatives?
