  1. I watched the cashier once use my card when the chip wouldn't read. She put the card in and put a bit of backwards pressure on the part of the card sticking out - thus making the chip push closer to the side while inserted. That's what I do now and it works most of the time.
  2. Only thing going through dad's head was how to deal with the wife when she finds out. That kids will roll over as soon as she walks in the door.
  3. If the cat is attached to the generator, it is no longer falling. Therefore, it will cease to rotate.
  4. You never said if you were Smith or Jones.
  5. Without going into too much detail, can you provide a map designating the places where this technology exists and doesn't?
  6. This thread is odd, yet a little entertaining. I had to go back to the starting post to try to figure out why it started - still not sure. If this thread is what gets you to use your damn Texas/OU tickets, then its worth it. Carry on.
  7. All things brisket thread it that way >>>
  8. I haven't tried any of them, but my thoughts are the same. When in Rome, try whatever barbecue the Romans specialize in. I've had good barbecue and horrible barbecue in different states, but none of it comes close to Texas. On a road trip, I always grab Texas barbecue on the way back home.
  9. I floated the San Marcos with a few people, one of which was in an inflatable kayak. He was able to stand up and cast his fly rod - however, he was a little fella. I'm 6'4", 245 and it will take an exceptionally stable kayak for me to stand up and cast. Another guy was fishing from a combo paddle board / kayak thing. He's a big guy, so no standing. It did fine in the flat water, but he dumped right over in the rapids because he couldn't keep it pointed down hill.

Six out of seven dwarves are not happy.
  11. For some reason Mrs. Callo wanted to watch The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, so we did that on Sunday. Not a great movie, but seeing at least one spaghetti western is probably a good idea. Unfortunately, I mentioned that it was part of a loose trilogy. Ended up watching A Fist Full of Dollars and A Few Dollars More on Sunday and Monday night. This type of scene happens frequently in these three movies:
  12. Maybe they intend to cash in. Selling a dead body is frowned upon, but powdered OJ bling would fetch a high price.
  13. Which is less of a diversion off the original topic than most threads on here.
  14. We've done a couple of those tours - one in the Garden District and a Voodoo tour that started in Louis Armstrong Park. Both were interesting and I would definitely do another one.

Yep. It's right there in the Packers and Stockyards Act, 1921. Non-competes are wedged in between "live poultry dealer" and "swine contractor."
  16. She appeared to sign it as well. Maybe a Thelma and Louise situation.
  17. Same. I've had 6 or 7 fishing kayaks over the years. Eventually sold them because I was too busy with youth sports. A couple years ago, I found an old Ocean Kayak Prowler 13 on craigslist for $250. What worked for me in the early 2000s works fine for me know. All I need to paddle the San Marcos, Devil's River, or Brown & Root flats. I might look to upgrade, but only if I could find a kayak that I could comfortable stand up and fly cast in - that isn't thousands of dollars.
  18. I've sampled Khoi a couple of times - pork ribs one time and pork belly the other. Great Asian inspired barbecue. Don Nguyen was a guest pitmaster at InterStellar a few weeks back. I trust that he has skills if John Bates invites him to come cook.
  19. Three episode in. Enjoyable show - will continue to watch. Finishing the episode now. Interesting story that I only knew about at a basic level.

When I was a little kid, my parents had Runaway on a 45. They had plenty of other records that I can't recall, but I loved this song. I played it over and over. Just listened for the first time in decades and its still great.
