  1. I can't really pin down one best, but among the best shows I've ever seen was ZZ Top at FEC in April 1982. This was their first show in Austin since the infamous Foot Stompin' Barndance and BBQ at Memorial Stadium 8 years earlier. There was an energy around campus that I had never before felt for a show, and I've never felt it since, and the show itself did not disappoint. A couple other memorable shows were Johnny Winter at the Austin Opera House in September 1981. Stevie Ray Vaughan opened for him, and Tommy Shannon (formerly with Johnny Winter) had just joined Stevie's band. It was general admission, and I was able to elbow my way to the front of the stage, so I got to watch both Johnny and Stevie doing their thing from literally an arm's length away. Also saw Johnny Winter at the Texas Opry House in Houston in November 1978. The perfect venue for him, and I was luckily able to sneak in, as I was still under-age. I was only 17 at the time, and since the place served alcohol, you were supposed to be over 18 to get in. Fortunately, my provisional driver's license had a full face picture, instead of the usual profile, so I was able to sneak past the doorman. Anyway, about 3/4 of the way into the show, Johnny starts taking requests from the audience, so he played a lot of his older stuff. Great, great show. i miss that man.
  2. Hey, I was at that show too. December 10, in fact. I still have the ticket stub. I believe admission was $6.50. My first show was at the Houston Live Stock Show and Rodeo in 1971. I was 9, and my dad took the whole family to see Johnny Cash. First rock concert was Bad Company at the Sam Houston Coliseum in March 1976. Ted Nugent opened. A couple months later, I saw Johnny Winter at the same place, with Weather Report opening. Awesome shows.
  3. Private Pyle, I am going to give you three seconds, exactly three fucking seconds to wipe that stupid looking grin off your face, or I WILL GOUGE OUT YOUR EYES AND SKULL FUCK YOU!!!!!
  4. Oh, that's right Pyle. Don't put any fucking effort into getting to the top of the obstacle. If God had wanted you up there, he would have miracled your ass up there!
  5. If you're going to Antietam, you may as well go a little further north and hit Gettysburg. Skyline drive and Shenandoah National Park are also nice day trips.
  6. Don't have Whataburger where I live, but I do have LHN, so I get to see all the commercials. I have to say, that Mushroon Swiss looks pretty danged good. I bet a couple slices of bacon would put it right over the top.
  7. Not Haggis approved! Someone had to say it.
  8. The aggy thread has already been started. Maybe you could post a picture of Mira Sorvino eating an ice cream cone.
