  1. The Cam situation is tough. Could he go to a bad team, start, and average 20+ a game and be a bigger name? Yes, IMO. I get it, the kid wants to be a star and make $$$. I'd guess Ime had a good talk with him and his body language is noticeably better. Will be interesting to see how his career plays out.
  2. When Lively initially made the accusations about Baldoni and I briefly heard about it, I fully assumed she was telling the truth. I only really knew of Baldoni because he's a Baha'i (my family is too) and he - along with Rainn Wilson - are probably the two most well known celebrities who openly talk about their faith. And my first reaction was "of course this pious acting person ends up being an abusive asshole". I'm full of cynicism and it makes sense to me. But then the accusations were countered with actual evidence, and it's clear that Lively is a real piece of shit. That's not to say Baldoni isn't, I don't know. But so far in court of public opinion, Lively is understandably getting crushed.
  3. Last night our band opened up for Nether Hour at The Continental Club in Houston. Anyone here seen them? They reside in Austin. Goddamn, they are fucking great. We had no business being on the same stage as them. Just found this killer cover.
  4. A powerful and narcissistic abuser has been exposed and will have to pay the consequences. That's a good thing and a win for society. Maybe the details bore you, but I'm sure you agree with the above.
  5. Glad they let Slowik go, but Kubiak comes from the same coaching tree. Hmm.
  6. I like to see narcissistic abusers, whether male or female, get their comeuppance. We live in a world that is increasingly accepting of this abhorrent behavior, and any case that exposes these pieces of shit is good thing.
  7. I think it's one of 2 scenarios: 1. Lively told all of them during filming that Baldoni was harassing her, and they believed her. Even if they didn't see anything. 2. They know this is a total power play, that a prequel (and more money) was going to be made, and they chose to get behind Lively/Reynolds as they are much more powerful in the business. Classic Hollywood bullshit to people to turn a blind eye for their own survival.
  8. They know they are fucked. I've seen some people say Lively's PR and legal team should back off of everything, say she had PPD (she had a kid shortly before filming), and that it affected her mindset through this ordeal. Won't happen, but that's how bad this is for her.
  9. The cast (including Jenny Slate) and author (Colleen Hoover) also took Lively's side from the start, and they will all feel the blowback as well. Hoover deleted her IG yesterday. She had 2 million followers. All her young female readers are furious with her. This is a ridiculously long deep dive in to the case, but these two young women are intelligent and easy on the eyes if you want to get into the details. They initially backed Lively when she made the accusations, and have now done a 180. This is a powder keg situation and will create long lasting ramifications in Hollywood IMO.
  10. If this case goes to trial, my guess is: 1. Blake Lively's career is over. It might be over already. 2. Ryan Reynolds's popularity and therefore his movie career will take a significant hit. 3. Taylor Swift's involvement will lose her some fans. Not anything noticeable, but her public persona will get dinged a bit. Some Swifties are already vocally disappointed. Not a good look when you (with collaboration from your husband) publicly accuse someone of abuse and harassment, and the receipts end up showing you are the actual abuser, manipulator, and bully. Women, understandably, are fucking pissed with Lively as the evidence mounts against her. The gaslighting from the Lively camp is PR suicide.
  11. I guess, but right now based on evidence/texts being released, Baldoni doesn't look like a bad person...yet . If this drama keeps getting a lot of attention, it will not be good for Ryan Reynolds either.
  12. This story is actually pretty interesting. It's looking more and more like Lively was in the wrong here and tried to fuck over Baldoni (the director). Lively is much, much more powerful in Hollywood than Baldoni. And she tried to use that power (with help from Ryan Reynolds and even Taylor Swift) to destroy him. A little gender role reversal from the typical Hollywood bullshit.
  13. I think it was a mistake for Sark not to incorporate a RZ/goal line RB after Baxter went down before the season. Could've set something up with Gibson early on. I thought it might happen after he had a couple nice RZ runs and a TD at Michigan in Week 2, but nope.
  14. Interesting. I heard Hannah did not get along with Jamey Rootes (RIP) who was the original team president that Grissom replaced back in 2021. Bob McNair had a great relationship with Rootes.
  15. It's a pretty fascinating situation for us next year on that side of the ball. If you consider 2021 as a throwaway season, all we've really seen during Sark's tenure is the Quinn Ewers offense. When you consider the issues in 2024 - Baxter ACL, Wisner eventually taking the lead role, Quinn's abdominal and ankle injuries, troubles with the deep ball - we just seemed to be very limited offensively. Inconsistent running game, QB was zero threat on the ground, defenses not scared of getting beat deep, and most of our success passing on predetermined or one read throws. Think about how many big plays in CFB are off schedule. VY's highlight reel is full of them. And we rarely saw that the last few years. By the 2nd half of this past season our offense felt choked out already. I don't think Arch will improvise a bunch, but it will happen more. Based on early returns, deep completions are back on the menu. Arch wants to and will go through progressions. While his running ability is probably overrated at this point, it's still a weapon. We'll see what happens in the Spring/portal, but I expect the RB room to be in a better situation heading into Game 1 compared to last year. We have a shitload of young talent at WR, maybe need one in the portal. I've seen many offensive players praise Quinn for the "calmness" he played with and how it positively affected the team. I believe it. 4th and 13 was probably the crowning moment that displayed that particular strength for Ewers. Arch is very different. He will bring physicality and an aggressive mindset. While he's a Manning, he's clearly a modern version. Dude loves to celebrate, talk shit, and has shown a lot of emotion on the field. The energy he brings will be noticeable and, hopefully, hugely effective.
  16. America First, but with the average American being last. Lower Costs, but raise prices through tariffs. Close The Border, but bring in immigrants. Free Speech, but really whatever the billionaires want. Life Starts At Conception, but politically ends after birth.
  17. There was a stretch where Moore dropped a few easy ones. I'm a fan. 39 catches and 7 TDs in his first real year of action. 9-114 and our only TD on great run after catch in SEC championship game. Arch has a good rapport with him. He's gonna kill it this year.
  18. Great song. Always loved and maybe even prefer this cover. A bit more urgency.
  19. He mentioned at the end of Coffee & Football this morning that a new hire will be on the livestream later today/tonight.
  20. I know and respect there are varying opinions on AI and its usefulness. But this is a message board. The point is for users to write their own thoughts and opinions. I'd rather see this thread die off than get an answer from ChatGPT or whatever other AI app to keep it going. I think it's prudent to discourage the use of AI overall on Surly, because the content here will go to absolute shit if we start letting it become normal.
  21. I'm glad this is happening. Red zone issues cost us all season and in the end, a national championship. We were that close. Now fix this shit in the offseason and go fuck everyone up next year.
  22. It's important to be able to tackle when on defense.
  23. Ready to vocally blame everything on Trump...
