  1. i've just noticed that the last entry on new admits has been at or above the 7 day moving average for the last couple of days, at least according to the travis county dashboard, although it doesn't look like it on your chart. https://austin.maps.arcgis.com/apps/dashboards/0ad7fa50ba504e73be9945ec2a7841cb
  2. c'mon. boys will be boys and steal medications from cancer patients to get high. live laugh love.
  3. I think Travis county's stay in Stage 3 is going to be a brief one. The numbers don't seem to be dropping at the rate you'd want.
  4. Maybe, but what’s funny is that Baylor article up thread says the opposite is the case now as we are trying to fix. Thumb is on the scale for guys right now. 7% higher admission rate to help balance things out.
  5. This one is bewildering/infuriating/sad. It's not really FAFO, but dad is simultaneously posting anti-vax sort of nonsense while watching his 33 year old son die of COVID.
  6. Wow. You're about to see some people get loud.
  7. JT Walsh is one of the great second tier stars of the 80s/90s
  8. Not very polite of us. Yes. That’s her.
  9. it looks like the women "marrying down" thing is starting to happen now. it intrigued me so i googled and here's an article on those trends. https://ifstudies.org/blog/the-gender-gap-in-marriages-between-college-educated-partners I had to stare at this chart for a while to really grasp what its saying, but i think that information in hidden in the purple bars on the right
  10. victim chess people want to play now is embarrassing.
  11. versus backwater mississippi?
  12. https://www.forbes.com/sites/stuartanderson/2020/09/03/chinas-population-to-drop-by-half-immigration-helps-us-labor-force/?sh=1e07afaa3d65 I grew up in a world where everyone was concerned about overpopulation. It's so weird seeing that it is accepted wisdom now that we are headed the other direction in the developed world. We're still going up because of third world trajectory, but it is only a matter of time until those countries start on this trajectory too. It's wild to think about this future. Will finding housing in China be an absolute joke in 2100? Which of these many empty apartments do you want? Will the transition stage be marked by abandoned buildings everywhere? Will the olds everywhere starve as there aren't enough yoots to fund pensions?
  13. Are you Markinson? I’m not Markinson. That’s two!
  14. I saw that Halloween decoration too and wanted to copy. I decided against because doing this stuff online is cathartic for me. In real life you don’t really know how that’s going to hit people. Someone lost their dad because of it and sees the decoration — bad juju IMO.
  15. Here’s a Norm joke I steal. I work out early and the coach at the end will every now and again go around during stretching and ask what we are going to have for breakfast after. I answer Count Chocula.
  16. But retards 09/91. Devastating to Dem.
  17. From your lips to gods ears.
  18. If we want to narrow the suspects, based on the videos I saw, I would find all people with athletic backgrounds from the past 30 years and cross them off.
  19. It’s the same regardless of date. Ain’t nobody got time to sort through everything to find the perfect evidence. Here it is from last month. Check out the bottom right: https://www.pewresearch.org/science/2021/09/15/majority-in-u-s-says-public-health-benefits-of-covid-19-restrictions-worth-the-costs-even-as-large-shares-also-see-downsides/ here is for vaccinating kids: WASHINGTON — A poll whose results were released Aug. 5 by the Public Religion Research Institute showed large differences between religious groups in their attitudes toward getting the COVID-19 vaccine for themselves or for their children. Forty percent of white Catholics and 48% of Hispanic Catholics said they have gotten or will get their children vaccinated, but only 18% of white evangelical Protestants and 27% of Hispanic Protestants said they will do the same. The two Protestant groups are the least likely to do so of all the groups surveyed in the poll.
  20. It’s not Catholics that are the holdouts here. It’s only white non-practicing, which basically means Republican.
  21. this is true, and i recall my post on the subject: "it's not cool to let the world know your capital ships can't adequately respond to a threat."
  22. maybe i'm spoiled from all the high numbers on the efficacy of the vaccines until now, but 77% at preventing hospitalization seems like a pretty shitty vaccine.
