  1. "A man trap." AKA...a woman.
  2. Last time I ate there was 2017, after spending a weekend on Harvey cleanup with my son. Before we headed back to Austin, I took the boy for a pilgrimage to one of our Houston haunts from growing up. It was still perfect. We had one here in Austin for a few years (middle of Congress between 6th and 7th), and we hit it plenty. Even went there for my wife's birthday one year when the kids were really young. JCI was one of her favorite places as a kid, and that's what she wanted, so we went, and everyone was happy.
  3. This item is found on the Steel Shank Value Menu:
  4. This. It's not just Occam's razor (people in charge were faced with a novel, deadly virus spreading in pandemic fashion, and cobbled together the best path they could on the fly, as they were dealing with huge buckets of knowns (overwhelmed medical system, high body counts) and huge buckets of unknowns (too many to count)). They took approaches that included a significant element of caution. In RETROSPECT, now that we have more info and better data, they got somethings right and some things wrong. I know this because I was literally "in the room" as decision-makers (at lower levels -- think local governments and such) were grappling with what to do, how to do it, where to find the resources to do it, etc. These were just ordinary human beings, wrestling with an incredible responsibility, facing horrific outcomes (yeah, some of the conversations were absolutely about where do we store all these bodies, shit, where can we even park the trailers we're using to store all these bodies? Bodies that included their friends and neighbors, BTW). There was no sinister conspiracy hatched in a mountain lair. Just human beings, doing their imperfect best to handle an unprecedented crisis. That, yes, killed literally millions of people, so it was sure as shit a real thing.
  5. I dunno. I'd probably pick up an order of McDumplings every now and then, if such an item were on offer.
  6. I dunno....maybe DON'T pursue policies that encourage "flexible" nations to openly and aggressively align with Russia, China, North Korea, and Iran? India is going to act in its self-interest (hint: all nation states do and will). Based on its size, geography, history, and pre-existing interests and relationships, India is not likely to become a 100% "yes Mr. American boss, whatever you say boss" state anytime soon. So, maybe take approaches that will get India doing as much of what we like as possible. And realize a good bit of that is a long game. As in not just months/years, but decades. But nope. We'll just walk into the room, bluster, throw a punch, and then act surprised when the other party leaves the room and disengages with us, ESPECIALLY when there is a tempting alternative right next door. We used a threat (tariff) with a financial downside that wasn't as significant as the financial upside of the alternative (running into the arms of Russian petroleum products, purchased at a discount). If you say "if you don't do what I want, I'm gonna charge $5 extra to you," and I have an alternative that says "come over here and do business with me, and I'll save you $7," well.....people all over the world can do math. It would be smart to run those numbers BEFORE you do the bully routine. But we don't do smart. Not anymore, at least.
  7. Dudes were Mexican. Thats proof enough. Yes, I know they were Venezuelan. Thats the joke.
  8. The shit was not intended to take out a small boat. The shot was intended to create a cool video to make the most pathetic human being to ever walk the earth feel like a big man.
  9. We don’t. But it is.
  10. These people are so fucking broken, there's no hope of living on the same planet with them in peace. Seriously, they are fucking beyond demented.
  11. Trump has already saved over a billion American lives!
  12. He's already ramping up that rhetoric about Chicago being the MURDER CAPITOL OF THE WORLD! The POTUS who all of these folks voted for because he wouldn't get us in endless wars....is just going to use troops to invade and attack cities right here at home.
  13. 1) Berlin is one of our favorite cities in the world. 2) BUT, it's out of the way for your itinerary. With that fact in mind, I'd skip it (we didn't go to Berlin last time we were in Germany -- did a more southern-focused trip).
  14. Indeed.
  15. I mean, technically, that's WTF is wrong with you Wilco...but it's such epic dumbassery that we'll certainly allow it.
  16. Just remember....Alex Jones voices out loud the stuff that most MAGAs actually think. These are literally fucking insane assholes, and they run our country, functionally unchecked. We're a batshitocracy.
  17. 2, x, x, x, x ,1 Oh, like you hadn't already done it in your head.
  18. I've already set up my company....
  19. What's important is that all records of your airbag's deployment and the reasons for same will be automatically remotely deleted by Tesla, because oh no reason, they definitely don't have anything to hide. And if you say otherwise, you are clearly infected with THE WOKE MIND VIRUS. Why anyone would choose to do business with that fucking lunatic is a mystery to me.
  20. We're busy placing tariffs on shoes and such made in Vietnam. So, we're going to bring back....low-wage shoe-sewing jobs. We're also busy placing tariffs on coffee, and bananas, and other tropical crops, which we grow....functionally none of here in the US. But I guess we're gonna make coffee plantations in Iowa great again or something?
  21. But do you realize that this (lying and covering up massive failures) isn't what he/Tesla has done....IT IS WHAT THEY ARE. This is the fundamental nature of what every Musk enterprise is and how it operates. They are toxic, and should be avoided at all costs.
  22. The sooner that America realizes that ICE is not an immigration agency, it is instead "Trump's all-purpose secret police" with its entire mission being inwardly focused (targeting "enemies of the regime"), the better a chance we'll have. Stasi, the Gestapo, the FSB, what have you....they're here. They are called ICE. All of us who grew up reading books and watching movies where we recoiled in horror when we saw states with "secret police" who targeted the state's own residents for being disloyal to the regime and whatnot? We're here. It's our turn now. Wake the fuck up. ICE is not getting this tool so they can spy on some illegals hanging sheetrock. They are getting the tool so they can spy on Americans who the regime does not like. Remember how some people freaked out about FISA courts and warrants? This dispenses with even that level of formality and legal review. They are just going to use it. Then, in the endgame, the people they target with it are going to be disappeared. That's how secret police work.
  23. Yeah.....that ship has sailed, my friend. See this: And don't get me wrong, I find it heartbreaking. It makes me physically ill. To know that this nation is already lost for at least 1-2 generations. The hell we have entered is something we can no longer hope to abbreviate, or go around. There is no way but "through." And that path necessarily involves defeating -- by crushing -- the disease that put us here. We should have executed every officer who served in the Confederacy, and many of the enlisted men, and ALL of the leadership/politicians. We have to learn the lessons of history. You don't deal with piece of shit fascists by having conversations and understanding them. You have to crush them. Show them exactly as much mercy as they showed their enemies. Scratch that...show them LESS mercy than that. This is an existential fight. And all the absolute awfulness that entails. The sooner you realize that, the sooner we might have a fighting chance. I have kids too. It makes me want to puke knowing that this is their future. But that's what it is. Wishing it were different won't make any difference.
