  1. Anyone remember this place? It’s from the 70’s, saw it on Reddit and it brought memories of similar places elsewhere, when Mexican food was a simpler thing.
  2. If we were somehow to send Bob and Corby to do a remote from some hummus shop in Gaza, the Israelis and Hamas would unite to rid the place of their pestilence. Then they’d resume their war.
  3. To add a bit to this, I like giving families trees instead of flowers, usually an oak, for funerals. My dad started doing that to honor his father who planted so many trees for folks for free. He had a great idea of a memorial garden to take a undeveloped park in the small town they lived in that was basically a pasture, where folks could buy a tree with a little plaque to eventually cover the place with trees. There’s something comforting in the cycle of a tree and it’s long life.
  4. My expectations are basically grease, butter, pork fat. Everything else is an extry
  5. Still waiting for Petrino to smash Jimbo in the face with a kettlebell.
  6. Looks bad ass. I forget which book that was but it was one of the best. I liked the kick bumper airbag trick. That’s not skipping leg day.
  7. I believe the tripe and marrow gut are two different parts of the anatomy. I don’t know where you think SOB stew is some white bread concoction. It’s elemental to early ranching. Guts don’t keep, you throw em all in a pot with chilies and whatever you got. Vaqueros made it on the range. You do the same thing at hog killin time. Now go fuck yourself
  8. Look at it another way. My concern going to Arthur Smith was that Bijan was going to get Earl Campbelled, win games, and cut his own throat. Instead we have smith being a complete moron who might get fired this year and surely after next. Every low use game keeps mileage off the tires and gets him closer to a second contract with less risk of injury. Thanks Art!
  9. My grandfather planted probably 50000 oaks around north Texas and Ft Worth, though I think he probably planted cotton woods and mimosa trees in Dallas. He carried a box of big burr oak acorns when he travelled out of state to hand out as Texas sized acorns. I hate crepe myrtles. Damn weeds. I am a big believer in planting trees that are meaningful to a couple or family.
  10. I don’t make the news I just report it.
  11. I want Jimbo to coach aggy to the end of days.
  12. I think Jerry sold his soul to win that 95 SB without Jimmy and the team is cursed til he dies. He didn’t realize Jimmy’s players + Deion won that last one and he didn’t get much credit.
  13. Jimmy Street. 45 Sammy Baugh. 24 236 rushing
  14. A proper sob stew includes the marrow gut of an unweaned calf. It’s basically a tube between two of a cow’s stomachs filled with partially digested milk and another substance of “marrow gut”. Never saw it.
  15. The amazing thing about all this coaching stupidity in games is they have all kinds of coaches and analysts in their ear telling them what to do.
  16. College ball does zero to produce nfl o linemen. When you need 9 per team it makes a big problem.
  17. Sanchez took them to a championship game. Wilson is awful
  18. Peyton and Eli with incredible analysis of the punt return. P: Eli what’s your take on how this punt broke open? E: uhh…stay in your lane? I don’t know anything about punt coverage.
  19. It goes to his estate. Otherwise we’d see a bunch of high paid non productive players getting offed.
  20. He is a great owner. I somehow forgot the fact he is a less than mediocre GM. He changed the NFL financial model with the Fox TV deal, has shown the other owners how to monetize their brands, and made his franchise the most valuable on earth, even without a meaningful playoff game. He deserves his gold jacket for that. His blind spot is he hasn’t fired himself.
  21. How did the East German judge score it?
  22. They get to pay him $81 mill if he never plays another down. A devastating hit to the cap if he can’t play in 24.
  23. Jerry is a great owner. And he has given most personnel power to Stephen who has grown up in the league as a personnel exec. Will McClay is the “professional” personnel guy that is courted every off Season by teams needing a GM. The idea that hiring a completely outside personnel staff and expecting better results is ludicrous. Jimmy failed at it in Miami, Belichik is failing now. And every other team that has the professionals generally has worse results. Dallas has had generally good drafts in recent years.the failures are usually their overreliance on homegrown free agents but Jerry killed the team with bad splashy fas that Stephen had to dig out of thru the years. When they extended Dak he looked like he was moving into the top 5 range. He has declined in his thinking since his brother died and he broke his leg. Without a cap Jerry would spend every dime on player she. After personnel the issue is coaching. Garrett was family. Mike is the veteran who’s been there. The team needs a younger voice with new visions like DeMeco. It’s not going to change until the man dies.
  24. I tell folks if you have the means and your health, take your adventures when you can. We put off a lot of things we wanted to do: trips to Ireland, Spain, Greece etc. hiking tours. Etc. what happened? My industry collapsed and money’s now tight. Worst, wife has severe arthritis, and while her total knee replacements have done great, her spinal degeneration has been terrible. 4 failed spine surgeries and having a fifth huge surgery in a couple weeks. Your life can change quickly in the future; grab life in the present. Thanks for suggestions and good thoughts!
  25. I’m assuming that’s the girlfriend’s portion as I’m eating all the rest that’s in the pot.
