  1. If we can trade out Carter for Caldwell, we're good. I remember seeing Carter get planted by double teams a few too many times this year. If he wants to play more snaps, there's no way you can guarantee him that.
  2. I love me some Mo Blackwell, but he's probably best as a core special teamer on this team. Too bad he couldn't put on more weight. Gbenda is nice if the lightbulb continues to come on for him. He could even be draftable next year if he makes a similar leap from last year.
  3. I think I saw Jalynn Polk flashing the horns after the game.
  4. Bruh. Everyone expected this year to be Quinn's final year in college. Texas was planning for that to be the case. MM and Arch would have competed for QB1 next year or we would have been hoping for Arch to be ready next year. I assume MM doesn't leave this quickly if the narrative and expectation around Quinn staying another year hadn't shifted. Either way, like he said, you do what it takes to keep Quinn another year as long as it makes sense to do so. Sets us up nicely for a another good run next year. Gives Arch another year to allow his actual game to match or surpass the outsized public expectations of his game too.
  5. Be a good man...be a good man. Some things change...some don't. Texas forever. I was excited about him when he came into the program, and I couldn't be more proud of what he became despite all of the adversity he faced during his time in Austin. Hook'em, JWhitt.
  6. I'd take year 3 Sark/Quinn and his potential leap behind that experienced OL and easyish schedule over RSFr Arch. Arch should get more PT next year because I could see us blowing out 4 or 5 of the teams on the schedule next year with Quinn back and an improved OL. RS So/RS Jr Arch, then we'll see what happens with Owens/Lacey/transfer portal. If Quinn coming back jeopardizes Arch at Texas, then let Quinn go. If Quinn coming back jeopardizes Lacey at Texas, we'll figure it out.
  7. You literally just said "can or will LSU win a bidding war against Texas? I'm pretty sure the answer is no" They have the money to offer more than we may be willing to, he also has extensive ties to them. I can't see him going to work for Brian Kelly though. I'd be more concerned if Bama came hard at him.
  8. Look at the eye level. Theyre all about the expected height. TyAnthony looks lighter than expected though. Or Wingo is just built like a tank.
  9. I think his attachment to LSU is the fact that he's from NOLA. Doubt he goes anywhere.
  10. DL is a very tiring position to play, especially considering the size of the players doing it. Guys like Bralen Trice, who was recruited and partially developed by PK, are rare. Dude has an incredible motor and burst for how many snaps he plays.
  11. Wingo is pretty raw and Sark's system isn't the easiest to learn for WRs. He could get in rotationally like Cook did this year if he picks things up quick enough.
  12. I believe that was part of the reason why he left there. He still believed he was a corner, but wasn't being used in a way that let him be successful.
  13. We didn't offer him coming out of HS. He was considering them coming out of HS, same DB coach still there. A&M guys is reporting that he's gonna visit here to try and manufacture some momentum when he transfers there "over Texas".
  14. Its notable here who he's talking to and who's reporting what.
  15. Looks like Xavier Worthy has officially declared for the NFL.
  16. Those batted balls and rushed throws made a huge difference.
  17. This isn't a Spencer Rattler/Caleb Williams situation. Quinn is performing really well for the most part. I think Quinn has a chance to blow up against some of these SEC defenses next year.
  18. There is no world where he's in any competition for QB1 next year unless he really falls apart mentally and loses all discipline this offseason. Having Arch behind him is plenty enough pressure to stay ahead of the curve. Let's not make the same mistake OU and Ohio State seem to be making in running off their successful starting QBs.
  19. This wasn't an embarrassing showing. We didn't play well and still nearly won the game. Shit happens. The season is over, so now we get some focus back to get other shit done until the spring game hits. Very successful season, and the way it ended puts a bad taste in our players' mouths to attack the offseason with.
  20. If Quinn played the entire game the same way he played that 4th quarter, we would be talking about a win today. Of course, if the OL played better, the RBs didn't fumble, Sorrell was as impactful as last year, Worthy wasn't hurt, Robinson wasn't hurt, etc. I would have liked Quinn to play better, but he wasn't really a major issue last night.
  21. We're probably gonna see some guys peel off the OL group this offseason, would be nice to have this guy competing for LT after Banks leaves. Likely unlikely, but they recruited this hell out of this guy in the 2023 cycle.
  22. People are not of the same talent level just because they are both rated 3-star or 4-star. You are giving the recruiting services way too much credit. Sweat is very talented, but his body and mentality transformed during college and that has helped him really start being impactful on a more regular basis. Murphy is a bulldog with less than ideal physical traits for his position. He wins with leverage, big time strength, some quickness, and sheer determination. Safety is a mental position and Thompson would need to be clairvoyant to be impactful with his athletic profile. Crawford plays dazed and confused out there. He's fast, but tight and plays even slower due to his Pentium III processing speed. But, they're all horns and each one made big plays that contributed to this amazing season. I wish them all the best in their lives and careers going forward.
  23. Penix's mobility really added salt to the wound in this game. Zone read pulls to inside runs? Pretty sure they haven't shown that much if at all this year. Penix was fucking lethal last night. There was one point in the game where Penix was like 6-8 and 190 yards, and Ewers was 5-14 for 68 yards. near the end of the first half. He was like 21-24 for 350+ yards in the fourth quarter. He rarely moved off his presnap read from what I saw. Threw dimes all day, and his receivers would have caught passes with their feet if needed.
  24. Michigan has a better overall DL than us. UW exposed our edge play and we really had no answer for it. They also have a guy in Will Johnson who can allow them to play more leveraged coverages. Jake Majors is good for one illegal snap a game. For a guy with his experience, it makes no sense for him to keep making the same mistakes. Christian Jones was overmatched against Trice and ZTF. They picked on the middle to right side of the line with the games and pressures. Experience plays a role in presnap penalties too. The bigger the moment gets, people begin to fold more. Sorrell lined up in the neutral zone and still jumped offsides. Guys were too tight and felt the magnitude of the moment too much. It happens. The experience is invaluable though, for both the players and the coaches.
