My wife (no pics) loves 80's music in general but doesn't care for Squeeze. It's one of her only flaws. (She does, however, like the song "Tempted," so maybe there's hope.) Several terrific Squeeze songs are mentioned above. Here's another one.
  3. Best 3-9 team in the country is . . . still the best 3-9 team in the country.
  4. Generally panned at first, but now considered to be an underrated classic by some. It's not What's Going On (not much is), but I wouldn't call it shitty. When Did You Stop Loving Me is one of my favorite MG songs, for example. The emotions are definitely raw on that album, so it can be a tough listen at first. I always thought one of the most interesting facts relating to it was that Anna Gordy considered suing for invasion of privacy after it was released. That says a lot, IMO.
  5. The "worthless conference" that aggy won once in 16 seasons . . .
  6. The Vikings just traded for Nick Mullens. That should tell you what the new coaching regime thinks of Mond (as well as Sean Mannion, the other backup QB on the roster.) Mond actually played fairly well in Minnesota's first preseason game -- he started slow but ended up throwing two TD passes. But it was against backups. In the second preseason game on Saturday (again facing second and third-teamers), he was awful. Threw two picks, both of which were completely his fault. Just terrible decisions. So far he's a complete waste of a third round pick.
  7. Given Jimbo's fully-guaranteed mega-contract, ya gotta love that one aggy's reference to Sark wheedling $30-40M out of Texas. The very definition of irony.
  8. Cam Robinson and Jonah Williams started as true frosh as well. Saban will start a true frosh O-lineman if the kid is a stud and he's the best option at the position. But it's pretty rare.

One of the rare Smithereens songs written solely by guitarist Jim Babjak. A real gem.
  10. I'm sure some of you hopheads probably already knew about this brewery, but I didn't so I'm linking it here, dammit. I have no idea if their beers are any good, but the name is a good start. https://surlybrewing.com/
  11. Yep -- Manziel "let" aggy lose to LSU (twice), Bama, Florida, Auburn, and Mizzou during his two starting seasons, so apparently the Jordan-esque competitiveness ebbed and flowed a bit.
  12. I see that Slowneal got the chop (with an injury settlement) by the Niners. Too bad, Leon.
  13. Davis is the kiss of death -- Kerstetter got cut yesterday. https://atozsports.com/buffalo/buffalo-bills/bills-early-roster-cuts-feature-a-big-disappointment/ aggy Wydermyer also got the chop. Talk about a player failing to live up to expectations. Dude went from being a likely high draft pick to being a UDFA to getting cut after the first preseason game. I don't know if I've ever seen a bigger draft plummet that wasn't directly linked to injury or off-field shenanigans.
  14. Indiana just got bent over royally on that replay overturn. Wow. Cannot fathom how one could say that the video evidence was sufficient to overturn that call at 2B.
  15. That's what I told myself when I didn't get a MY21. I didn't really mind waiting a year or so with the idea of getting a MY22 so that Ford could (as you say) work out the kinks. I don't think I've ever purchased a vehicle from the first year of production of a particular model or generation, for that exact reason. But now the wait is getting ridiculous and I find myself occasionally checking out 4Runners on CarGurus and Autotrader. Things would be different if Ford could give me some kind of ballpark idea on when mine will be built, but neither the company nor the dealer can tell me jack shit in that regard.
  16. Ford coming out with Heritage and Heritage Limited editions on the Bronco for MY23. The exterior styling is a nod to the 1st Gen Bronco. Sounds like the interior will have a few retro-style accents as well. I like the exterior look. I also won't be surprised if we see some of these on the streets before I get my own 6th Gen, which was reserved TWO FUCKING YEARS AGO and ordered over 1.5 years ago. Fuck you, Ford, for making me wait so long. https://thebronconation.com/revealed-the-2023-ford-bronco-and-sport-heritage-editions-and-heritage-limited-editions/?fbclid=IwAR2xCNZfdHCaRSf2kE5XN533PYGOngMd4Sd6c2r07mHCjRoZpZFnoiGU8rU
  17. Yeah, it's not a huge loss, but it's like a longtime friend moved far away. I latched onto EW SiB a long time ago as a good alternative to more expensive bourbons. I always thought it punched above its weight in terms of smoothness and flavor, although I came to regard it as a little underproof and . . . almost too smooth. Over the past couple years, I haven't been drinking as much of it simply because I was trying new and different bottles, but now that I find I can't get it anymore, it gives me the sads a little bit.
  18. Should have known something was up when I didn't see any at my local place the last time I was there. That place ALWAYS had EW SiB in the past.
