  1. Reddit thread has more details. Sounds like traffic was stop and go and then the 18 wheeler flies into them. Driver may have been under influence or someshit and maybe tried to escape. From the video he approached the driver and cussed him out saying that he was gonna get locked up. The driver doesn’t speak English well so he couldn’t really understand. When he finally started to understand he started getting on his phone and walking kind of fast away from the scene. Then the guy recording found a cop and said “he’s trying to run” and the cop runs after him and then the video ends He is talking to the driver and after telling the driver that he’s gonna get locked up the driver starts to walk back to his 18 wheeler and the dude doesn’t physically restrain him but he does tell a cop and you just see the cop chasing after the driver before the video ends So in shorter words: no According to a witness who was live, it was a 3rd party Amazon truck driver who either fell asleep or was distracted and crashed into stopped traffic.
  2. Locals know that. Many of the victims were out of town folks.
  3. China is kicking our ass on next gen evolution especially as it revolves around electric and solar. This administration made it clear that we are the old dinosaur adamantly relying on dinosaur sauce (oil). We are going to milk oil so that oil barons can die rich while fucking their grand children and their grand children.
  4. We have 6 major manufacturing sites across the US. Every single site has a hiring and retention problem. Our manufacturing is hard, heavy work. On many instances, people will show up for one day and not show up again. Mostly, they'll work for 3 months and then quit because they found another easier job. And the ones who stay in manufacturing routinely get poached by other manufacturing companies because finding people who actually want to be in manufacturing long term is critical to your success. Our labor force is older and and only getting older. The younger generation don't want this work. Plus our int'l manufacturing locations are much much easier to deal with. They can easily find workers and those workers are agreeable to increase and/or change their work scopes. Trying to get the US unions to take on more work comes down to how much more blood (money, increase costs) are we willing to give. Just like how consumers "say" they want to buy American vs foreign made, that conviction lasts right up to them choosing the lower costs items which are mostly all foreign made. The idea is romantic. It's just not ever going to happen.
  5. My leadership HATES Trump.
  6. I know that was in jest but I don't know if Trump, his advisors, Republicans and certainly not their base understand economics. Price changes are rarely ever localized. We are in a GLOBAL economy. Manufacturing, suppliers, and products are intertwined in a global network of supply and demand. The rest of the world is looking in amazement at the shit coming out of the White House and asking what the fuck is the goal of all of this shit other than just to fuck things up for everyone? Seriously, what's the point in any of the shit the piece of shit and his cronies are doing? Is there an endgame other than just chaos?
  7. Not just Canada. Trump and Republicans want to torpedo relationships with our traditional allies (NATO, Canada). Why? Because Russia is our new daddy and calling the shots. And because Trump is an insecure dipshit.
  8. Steel is a huge component in my company's manufacturing. Suppliers are hitting us with updated pricing almost on a daily basis. We are also updating our pricing and contracts to our customers almost on a weekly basis. The end result being, EVERYTHING is way more expensive. Our customers are delaying orders because of 1. the crazy rate of how prices are increasing and 2. the business environment is fucked in that no one knows when the insanity is going to stop and how much more of a shitshow this is going to be. We are delaying capital projects and cutting expenses knowing that the economy is going to tank. NONE OF THIS DRAMA AND BULLSHIT WAS NEEDED. Fuck this administration and fuck the Republicans for enabling and protecting this bullshit. Here's a good read of how the steel tariffs are impacting companies.
  9. https://www.reuters.com/world/us/house-republicans-block-congress-ability-challenge-trump-tariffs-2025-03-11/?utm_source=chatgpt.com House Republicans block Congress' ability to challenge Trump tariffs WASHINGTON, March 11 (Reuters) - The Republican-controlled U.S. House of Representatives voted on Tuesday to block the ability of Congress to quickly challenge tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump that have rattled financial markets. The 216-214 vote, largely along party lines, delays lawmakers' ability for the rest of the year to force a vote that could revoke Trump's tariffs and immigration actions.
  10. Fake news. There is no Jamie White. It's all a hoax.
  11. Half of this country are crack addicts addicted to Trump. We need to hit rock bottom before they can begin to heal from their affliction. We are even close to rock bottom. 4 more years of this shit. Hopefully a good number of magats will see that their piece of shit cult leader is a piece of shit. The question is, what will be left of this country when traitorous Trump and Republicans are done doing Putin's work?
  12. Finally did something about all the car break ins. These pieces of shits have been at it for years. I'm sure they'll be released and continue their thieving ways or another group takes their place. https://www.fox7austin.com/news/austin-arrests-vehicle-burglaries-parks-mount-bonnell

  15. She was one of the 5 yes votes. I guess she really does despise the piece of shit.
  16. Willful ignorance until it finally affected them. Fuck these bastards. All they heard/saw was hating immigrants and gays and happily jumped on the train for a second go round.
  17. Maybe he wanted to kill the passengers before the pilot/ATC did. He's misunderstood.
  18. Another dipshit found out. https://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news/local/laid-off-federal-worker-trump-voter-pennsylvania/4124901/?_osource=pa_npd_loc_nat_nbcn_gennbcnews "I loved doing that job. I loved helping people out and being told that you can’t go to work anymore because you haven’t been there for a year is just kind of horrible. The taxpayer advocate service is already under manned as it is. The case advocates are averaging over 120 cases per person and you're letting everybody go, how does that help the taxpayer?" Smith asked. When asked by NBC10 political reporter Lauren Mayk if he supported Trump in the last election, Smith hesitated with his answer before ultimately saying that he did. "Honestly, uh, yeah, I did," Smith said. "I thought, you know, he would be someone that would, you know, cause he talked a lot about taking care of the military, taking care of the veterans, taking care of the people that put him in office and it just hasn't happened so if I could go back in time I would have voted for Vice President Harris in a heartbeat."
  19. Malls, schools, places of worship, and now airplanes. Did not have airplanes on my bingo card of places to get shot by a psychopath. I admire his ingenuity.
  20. Russia had all those excess steroids earmarked for East Germany women. I see where they went
  21. 10 Commandments and prayer time. Following Oklahoma and Louisiana's lead. That's what has become of this state. We are just another dipshit SEC state. Fuck our "leaders". https://www.statesman.com/story/news/politics/state/2025/03/05/bill-requiring-ten-commandments-in-classrooms-heads-to-senate-floor/81351406007/ A Texas Senate committee on Tuesday approved a bill to require all public schools to display the Ten Commandments in each classroom, teeing it up to breeze through the Republican-dominated upper chamber. Senate Bill 10 continues the conservative Christian movement’s confrontation with separation of church and state as established by the U.S. Supreme Court nearly 45 years ago. Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, the three-term Republican who presides over the Senate, has identified the proposal as a legislative priority. Sen. Phil King, R-Weatherford, who authored SB 10, said he expects Texas will be sued if the Legislature enacts the bill, and he expressed hope that "it'll work its way up to the U.S. Supreme Court." There, the conservative-leaning bench would have the chance to overturn a 1980 decision that blocked Kentucky from putting the Ten Commandments in public school classrooms. The Senate panel on Tuesday also advanced SB 11, which would allow school districts to provide dedicated prayer time for students and teachers, and SB 13, which would let parents access their children's school library checkout histories and review library catalogs. Parents can choose to opt their children out of participation in prayer periods and school boards can vote not to set aside time for religious practice.
  22. I'm sure this is a problem in every major city, or at least I tell myself that. But got damned if the revolving door on releasing shitheads isn't getting real fucking old. TLDR: In 2023, a recidivist dude terrorizes a neighborhood. Gets released. Feb 2025, he is caught stealing laptops from the DAs office. They are so in-fucking-competent that they can't even enforce security at the building/office. https://www.kxan.com/news/local/austin/repeat-offender-steals-laptops-from-district-attorneys-office-court-documents-say/ Investigators believe Austin Wayne Mullins, 31, stole 9 laptops from the Travis County District Attorney’s Office last week, according to an arrest warrant filed. On Thursday, Feb. 27, an employee with the office told a courthouse deputy the building was burglarized the day before just after 4 a.m. The total estimated value for the nine laptops is $14,550.75. Online court records show Mullins was due in court on the 26th for a hearing related to a burglary case from early February, although that hearing ended up getting re-set. That hearing was set for 9:30 a.m., which was about 5 hours after Mullins’ warrant said the crime occurred. Mullins’ records also show multiple drug and burglary arrests, including two jail sentences. In 2023, Mullins was charged with disorderly conduct after police say he tried to break into homes in an east Austin neighborhood, threatening people with what turned out to be an air rifle. https://www.kxan.com/news/local/austin/austin-man-with-air-rifle-causes-school-shooting-concern-for-neighbors/ Over the last two weeks, an Austin Police arrest affidavit states a man tried to break into homes in an east Austin neighborhood, and threatened people with what turned out to be an air rifle, according to court records. Austin Mullins, 29, was charged with disorderly conduct. Police said this isn’t the first time he’s done something like this. Records state Mullins was roaming the streets with his weapon days before his arrest. Now neighbors said they were worried about what could happen next. “We were driving to school, and I saw him walking down the street carrying what looks like a very large rifle,” a woman who called 911 said. She asked not to be identified for safety. “He was wearing tactical gear… my little boy was so scared that this man was going to follow him to school and shoot up his school,” the 911 caller said. MOST READ: MAP: More than 300 acres have burned in Central Texas wildfires in 2025 The woman said around 8 a.m. on May 1, she saw Mullins carrying what turned out to be an air rifle. “I just saw a man who looked very erratic carrying something that looked to my eyes just like an AK-47,” the woman who called 911 said. “It didn’t have an orange tip or anything.” According to court records, neighbors spotted him toting his gun near these schools: Thomas G. Harris elementary Bertha Sadler Means Young Women’s Leadership Academy Andrews Elementary School Neighbors said Mullins was pointing his weapon at homes, according to a court affidavit. “Just seemed like maybe he was having a bad day,” Nina Leonard, a neighbor, said. “And yeah… was not being conservative about how he was holding his gun.” Days before Mullins’ arrest, neighbors reported seeing Mullins trying to break into homes while carrying his rifle. According to court records, police said the manufacturer’s warning label for the air rifle stated “Misuse or careless use may cause serious injury or death. May be dangerous up to 250 yards/229 meters.” Court documents stated police arrested Mullins for something similar in December 2022. Records said Mullins was walking with a gun near Austin Achieve Elementary School while kids were outside during a physical education class. Neighbors are questioning whether Mullins should be released from jail anytime soon. “Being released is certainly something that’s going to happen in the future,” Logan Campbell, a criminal defense attorney with Gergen, Hale & Campbell (GHC) Law Firm, said. “On a Class B misdemeanor, you can only hold them in jail for so long.” Campbell said a judge could decide Mullins isn’t allowed to have firearms anymore, or even put other restrictions in place limiting where Mullins can go when out on bond. “I think he would absolutely be a threat to the community if he was released without some major treatment,” the 911 caller said.
