    Getting old sucks

I’m friends with a British couple that live here in Houston but older parents, siblings, cousins and whatnot back in the old country. One or the other of them frequently makes a trip back for normal family type of stuff. Since COVID started they’ve both contracted it multiple times after that flight.
  2. I was at my local HEB on Christmas Eve (they were open) to pick up my rib roast. Just in the 5-10 minutes I stood there, I bet those guys handled 150 lbs of rib roasts. Totally ridiculous amount of beef back there behind the counter. I did a garlic / herb / olive oil rub, and smoked it over apple & cherry. Delicious.
  3. I got a Johnnie-O t-shirt with a little longhorn on the pocket. Just in time for Sugar Bowl. Low key.
  4. Merry Christmas all you shitheads. Also to @Nicole44, @burntorangebongos, @PenelopeWitherspoon, @Bevoette et al.
  5. Just had the first few sips of my AB aged nog which has aged a year+. So smooth. Very nice with a little freshly grated nutmeg.
  6. Of course it’s serious. Understand that they haven’t been with the team at all for the season, but are they eligible to suit out and play on special teams? Or anything?
  7. I'm still waiting on hold. Where the hell are my T34's?
  8. any landing you walk away from.....
  9. Not sure that little boat with the .50 cal in front moves the needle much for the US Navy.
  10. I'm bidding $100. Don't tell anybody. It says no reserve.
  11. The rest on the counter helps set the bark by cooling off and letting it harden up a bit. Like said above it just turns to mush if you put it away hot. It took 8-12 hours to get it to 205, so an hour on the counter doesn’t cool it all the way down in the least.
  12. @YGIFS not in the least: Most Spoken Languages in the World 1. English Known as the official language of business, English is the most widely spoken language in the world, with the highest number of speakers, and the highest number of countries where it is spoken. if Ohtani wants to transcend baseball and sport around the world, it behooves him to be literate in English. Unless he has a dud personality.
  13. @G650 I’m interested in your opinion on the SRAM wireless. Looking for my next setup. I’m currently on a rim brake Campy Record 11-sp bike. I enjoy the process of putting the bike together piece by piece, from the hubs out (yes I build my wheels). Next bike will be 12-sp electronic shifting disc brakes.
  14. I member when Tony Dorsett got a million dollar contract and was the highest paid player. Not $1/MM a year, $1/MM total.
  15. How does it work as a player? Can they just go get any sweatshirt, Tee, shoes, jacket they want? Are they issued a team kit? Is there a closet like at work with all the branded stuff that somebody has a key to?
  16. Maybe he can spend some of the money on Rosetta Stone and learn to speak English?
  17. Man @Fumbles I don’t see where you come off just answering a question straight up. Don’t you know where you are? No pie opinion? No new nuance of the the Simms/Applewhite debate? but thanks for the insightful answer. Appreciate that.
