  1. I drive over to eat Reese Bros, Burnt Bean and L&L more than some of y’all locals do. Get yalls shit together.
  2. Well, I got it again. For a third time in three years. Last booster was around May I think.
  3. I think it’s ranked by some metric, maybe google rating?
  4. Sending positive waves Mac. I know it doesn’t seem like it, but you will find something.
  5. Not sure if these rankings for Houston have been posted, but lulz. https://www.tastingtable.com/1362663/popular-bbq-restaurants-houston-ranked/
  6. No idea. I think I only ate there once back around 2011-2012.
  7. You aren’t allowed to have bad meals at a place that others have had good meals. Rules of the thread or something.
  8. Correct assessment. And when that was, they had the best burger in town. Cross posting from the Oak Forest thread. Mytiburger is struggling:
  9. Saw this on Reddit. Mytiburger is struggling. I think I only ate there once years ago when I lived in OF. I seem to recall either a poster on the old site, or a close friend of a poster owns it.
  10. I can’t imagine trying to teach a kids class. Chaos. I have been meaning to see if my kids want to train, but they don’t seem overly interested. I just teach them a few things here and there at home. I am wary of teaching my youngest how to weaponize herself.
  11. 100% true. And to hell with the money/tv bullshit. No game the first month of the season, especially our home opener, should be during the day. Just stupid and dangerous for fans and players.
  12. I am questioning whether I did the right thing by switching back to the engineering side of the fence. But news like this is what made me nervous working for an oil company with assets in the EF. Before I left they laid down two rigs. Made me wonder if they were looking to sell. Hell, most of the field folks had already worked the same asset under at least 3 companies.
  13. Every day at work, at least three times a day, the lady next to me opens a video or voicemail on her phone at a really high volume. I don’t know why she can’t turn it down, get some earbuds, or just not fuck with her phone at all. Every damn day.
  14. Looks like Living Earth in NW Spring Branch (Houston) has a mulch fire going on. I got close, but couldn’t get good shots.
  15. The dollar theater of my youth was at Jones and 290. It’s a Harbor Freight Tools now. Trying to recall if the old theater in Tomball became a dollar theater at some point when I was a teenager. I recall going to see movies back to back there with friends. Can’t imagine we were paying full price.
  16. Also, I used to commute to the Allen Center for a little over a year. I get to work pretty early, so traffic wasn’t really a big deal. 30 minutes in the morning and maybe a little longer in the afternoon.
  17. I mentioned in a movie thread that last night I watched The Last Rider. Pretty good documentary about Greg Lemond which focuses on the 89 Tour. It’s $5.99 Amazon and appletv.
  18. Could have been. He has other items besides furniture. Also meant *NOT cheap in my post.
  19. If I didn’t have kids I wouldn’t worry about things like that. Hell, I’d probably just live in the 5th Ward and retire at 55.
  20. We live in that JV area you are talking about. It’s ok. But my wife doesn’t think JV high school is good, thus we may start looking in Cypress. One issue with this area is the HEB is pretty lame. It’s kind of old and small. There are two Krogers, and while not horrible, they aren’t as nice as the ones in cypress or the other big burbs.
  21. The Last Rider. Biographical documentary about Lemind with obvious focus on the 89 Tour de France victory. It was well done and I enjoyed it. Unfortunate that Fignon isn’t around to be included. This is one of my most vivid sports memories. At the time my older brother was competitively racing. I was also into it and had done several citizen races. So my whole family watched it together.
