I wasn’t able to watch the game this week so I only followed the thread. Last night, I watched the ESPN key plays recap on YouTube and I gotta say we looked really good. It makes me think most poll voters only watch the game recaps and rank teams based on the 10-15 minute video.
Some friends moved to Colorado last summer so their kids enrolled in 4th and 7th grade there this fall. They went to Gullett and Lamar, so AISD “A” schools. Both were great students. Their new Colorado schools tested them to see where they were at academically. They don’t trust scores from Texas. Both were significantly behind for their grade level. Luckily, they both got back on grade level at the end of the first 9 weeks. Their parents were definitely shocked since the older kid never made a grade below 98 and was in all advanced classes and the younger one never struggled for one minute in school. The younger kid was so far behind, the school tested her for learning disabilities just to be safe. Now, Mrs. Brown is freaking out that we’re ruining our kid by leaving her at Lamar and not just taking her out of state.
The 100-200 students that sign up for gender studies at each university are god fearing red blooded conservatives that can have their entire worldview destroyed in less than 3 hours a week?
I've been using AI to write Python code for about two years. Claude is the best one for it. I shouldn't even be writing code in my role but I can get it done in minutes using AI instead of handing it off to staff to spend hours doing it. It would take me longer to type an email with the business requirements than to just iterate through it with AI until it work perfectly.
Yeah, I'm going to have to resod in the spring. I've put off getting a sprinkler system since it's never been much of an issue but this drought has killed off my Bermuda turf. It's not even brown, it's blown away and it's just a dirt field.
Much ado about nothing. So, 24% of young people attend church...a number that is barely higher than current Millennials and Gen Xers that have already given up on organized religion. By the time these kids are 40, they'll have the lowest church attendance of any generation.
According to survey data from the Barna Group, a Christian research organization, Gen Z-ers who go to church are more frequent attendees than churchgoers from older generations. Twenty-four percent of Gen Z-ers go to church every week (a slightly higher rate than for millennials and Gen X-ers).
Got NIN tickets for Moody. I was under 1,000 in the queue and all the floor and decent lower bowl tickets were gone to the bots by the time I bought tickets.
I thought that the recapture amount was calculated without regard to your tax rate. Otherwise, you could just set your tax rate to bringing exactly what you are allowed to keep and not pay any money to recapture.
