  1. Overmatched and overpowered in 3 games this season. At least under Herman/Yancy, we looked the part.
  2. I just watched Season 1 Episode 14. Originally aired in 1991. Holy fuck. Phillip Seymour Hoffman as a gang rapist. None other than Samuel Motherfucking L. Jackson as his lawyer. Man, this show was gritty as fuck.
  3. corrected poll options
  4. Between game dicussion, articles, and bitching here please.
  5. Are there any living things in there?
  6. Why else would they be here unless they like to fuck?
  7. About the school. What it stands for. And is willing to stand for the school song after a fucking gut-wrenching loss in the biggest game of the year. Go, Sam. Move on beyond these gutless, entitled pansy teammates that surround you. Fuck them all.
  8. Twitter is full of conspiracy theories surrounding building 7. When clicking on those accounts (out of curiosity), they have the same Q bullshit as well as a bunch of other shit. #AllBuildingsMatter is also trending. It's fucking 9/11, and it should be a day of remembrance for all Americans, regardless of race, political leaning, etc. If 9/11 didn't happen, would we be where we are with the current chaos in this country today or would it have happened regardless?
  9. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enhanced_Games https://www.enhanced.com/ The Enhanced Games is meant to be the first event of its kind to support performance-enhancing drugs and not follow the rules of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).[2] Performance-enhancing drugs will not be mandatory for participants.[3][4][5] Such an event has been discussed hypothetically for many years but never been realised.[6][7][8] Prosthetic limbs and shoe technology will be allowed.[9] Aron D'Souza, president of the organisation, says that for insurance reasons, only FDA-approved substances will be allowed.[10] Cocaine and heroin will not be allowed.[11] According to D'Souza, athletes should also be categorised based on their chromosomal sex.[12] The event, as announced in June 2023, is intended to be annual and to include track and field, swimming, weightlifting, gymnastics, and combat sports. Originally planned for December 2024,[13][14][15] D'Souza estimated the number of athletes to be "maybe a couple of thousand".[16] Brett Fraser, chief athletics officer of the organisation, said that the planned included sports are a "core suite of products", and can be improved upon in the future.[4] The scale will depend on funding, and the location was planned to be a university campus or similar facility in the southern United States.[17] D'Souza said in early 2024 that he now had the equity capital to fund the first event. I am particularly interested in the weightlifting.
  10. If we can’t hire Urban then: QB - promote Fedora to QB coach and play caller RB - fire Drayton/hire Samples WR - move Beck here and give Co-coordinator title TE - promote Beaty OL - keep Hand here DL - keep Giles, but only responsible for DE’s. Go get Bo Davis back to coach DT’s. LB/DC - hire Muschamp DB’s - Fire Naivar and Washington and hire Akina.
  11. Son, that ain't never been done! Eighty. Thousand. Dollah.
  12. What in the wide world of sports could be weirder, in today’s covid world, than our Dallas Cowboys making the playoffs. I can cheer for the Cowboys to win, & philly to beat WFC... it’s as simple as that.
  13. Not only does this Aggy keep getting re-elected, no one has come close to unseating him. What the fuck is wrong with Texas’ 1st Congressional District?!? Recent Gohmert news... Gohmert expressed fear that he might become the target of gun violence similar to that experienced by former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and refused to hold public town hall meetings.[20]
  14. Whatever your new username is, we need an update on the Item of Mystery and your adventures in selling it.
  15. I'm going to see if I can pull some recipes, help advice, etc over the next few days before it goes down
  16. We have two conference loses. OU and WVU each one. I get if WVU wins, OU is 2 loss and we beat them h2h so we're in. But if OU wins, WVU is 2 loss and they beat us h2h. Shouldn't the b12cg be a rematch of OU/WVU in that case? Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  17. I can't believe that we have been practicing this at all.
  18. The 2018-2019 bowl schedule is up. A few of the bowls have changed names do to sponsorship. The Heart of Dallas Bowl is now the SERVPRO First Response Bowl, but what really sticks out is the Cactus Bowl's new name. It will now be known as the Cheez-It Bowl. What does the winner receive? A free lifetime supply of Cheez-Its? http://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/page/cfpbowls2018/2018-19-college-football-playoff-bowl-schedule 42 bowl games plus the National Championship....
  19. Through a statement from the Justice Department, U.S. District Judge Christopher R. “Casey” Cooper announced the sentence on Wednesday in Washington. “Even if you did not pour the gasoline or light the match, the evidence showed you were aware of the attack, and once the gates were breached, the likelihood someone would die was extreme high. This was not guilt by association,” Cooper told Khattala, according to The Washington Post. The judge added, “This case stands as an exemplar for the principle that a defendant accused of international terrorism can get a fair trial in the U.S. criminal justice system.” Four Americans were killed in the Sept. 11, 2012, Benghazi attack: Ambassador Christopher Stevens, State Department official Sean Smith and security officers Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty, both onetime Navy SEALs. Prosecutors accused the defendant, who was captured in Libya on June 15, 2014, of heading an extremist militia and directing the attacks. But prosecutors also acknowledged they lacked evidence of his having fired any weapons. The government’s case against him relied heavily on the testimony of informants.
  20. Bernie Bros being toxic. Anti-Bernie Bros being toxic. Media figures being annoying. Giving ourselves emotional disorders online. Let's do it all here, outside of the primary thread where maybe policy and values discussion can happen and not be drowned out by discussions of who is being mean to whom. I'll start! Pod Save Jon Favreau, fresh off of siccing his 1.2M followers on a 7k follower nobody for dunking on Beto, is bemoaning Twitter for... being Twitter. Every day, I get up, get dressed, walk into a Waffle House and loudly say, "Boy, this sure isn't getting a Michelin star anytime soon!" and every time, I feel a little bit smarter
  21. Good for NASCAR. Fuck off, Brandon Brown. (Had no idea where to put this, BTW.) https://www.cnn.com/2022/01/05/sport/nascar-brandon-brown-lgbcoin/index.html
  22. https://www.heraldbanner.com/news/local_news/sources-say-a-m-commerce-leaving-lone-star-conference/article_86dd9f4c-1fe3-11ec-8ea0-7fc2c36924ad.html This gives the Metroplex/North Texas area an FCS school for football which has been void since UTA shut their program down. This is now two aggy schools who made the move to FCS with Tarleton State being the first . My bet aggy Canyon (WTAM) will be next followed by Angelo St(part of the Tech system) and the Lone Star Conference will die as a football conference and a great football small football conference it was back in the day... aggy King Ranch will probably continue to whither on the vine as a football program. UTPB will need to find a new home just as they were starting to build momentum in D2.... There is some chatter UT-Tyler might interested in football as well, but no time frame set. UTRGV has set a student referendum for the go ahead for funding via student fees for football. They will be going straight to the WAC for football and not spend anytime in another subdivision.
  23. I’ve never been. Thinking London, Scotland, and maybe Ireland for a week to 10 days. I want to do touristy UK shit. And see old stuff, castles etc. Will have 16 yo daughter with me. I’m not even sure where to start so I’m open to any recommendations. Hopefully it will be less hot than Dallas when we go. Much appreciation in advance.
  24. EDIT: This thread had been posted in the Daily Texan, but Immamac thinks discussing the acquisition of the Panama Canal and Greenland (by force, if necessary, according to Trump) is "politics" but not "news". This isn’t a Cloak Room thread to debate the incoming Administration’s foreign policies. Instead, it’s a news thread about statements/threats made and actions taken. It’s not about what’s right or wrong, nor is it about what’s smart or foolish. I fully realize some might not like discussing (or even seeing) this topic in the Daily Texan, but the future president of the United States outlined a rather aggressive foreign policy for when he takes office in a watershed news conference earlier today. This is quite simply news about how our country relates to the world and how others respond: actions, reactions, and consequences. https://www.nytimes.com/2025/01/07/us/politics/trump-panama-canal-greenland.html?smid=url-share President-elect Donald J. Trump refused to rule out on Tuesday the use of military or economic coercion to force Panama to give up control of the canal that America built more than a century ago, and to force Denmark to sell Greenland to the United States. In an hourlong news conference at his Florida estate, Mar-a-Lago, Mr. Trump also reiterated his threat that “all hell will break out in the Middle East” if the hostages being held by Hamas are not released by Inauguration Day, repeating the threat four times. “If they’re not back by the time I get into office, all hell will break out in the Middle East,” he told reporters. “And it will not be good for Hamas, and it will not be good, frankly, for anyone. All hell will break out. I don’t have to say anymore, but that’s what it is.” ***** He refused to rule out using military force to retake the Panama Canal, which was given back to Panama by treaty in the late 1990s, and acquire Greenland, which Mr. Trump said was necessary for the national security of the United States. “It might be that you’ll have to do something,” he said. ***** At one point, he suggested that his administration will rename the Gulf of Mexico the Gulf of America. ***** He also repeated his threat not to protect NATO allies, a foundational part of the pact, if they did not increase the amount of money they spend on defense of their own countries. At one point, he appeared to confirm a recent story in the Financial Times suggesting that he wants NATO countries to commit to spending up to 5 percent of their economic output on defense, a significant increase. He also criticized Canada, saying that the country should be a state in the United States because of the economic support that the United States provides to the country. He said he would not use military power to achieve that but said that he would use economic power to pressure the American neighbor. “Why are we supporting a country, 200 million-plus a year?” he told reporters, and then referred to the country’s prime minister. “Our military is at their disposal — all of these other things. They should be a state. That’s what I told Trudeau when he came down.” Mr. Trump threatened to use “economic force” to join Canada and the United States together, implying that the United States would pare back its purchases of Canadian products. He also said he would “tariff Denmark at a very high level” if it does not give Greenland to the United States.
