Fuck You Mid-Major Tom

We might as well accept the fact that we're stuck with this arrogant, incompetent prick for several more years;  thanks to CDC's astute ability to negotiate against himself and extend a contract that was in no need of extending.

Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, all the fire Tom Herman posts in the world aren't going to change that.  The best we can do to vent our frustration is stop by this thread to say fuck you mid-major Tom.

Decommit season is going to continue after this brutal ass raping. Who the fuck in their right mind would commit to play for this clown show of a coaching staff? Numerous upper class men have regressed, that's 100% on the coaching staff.

As far as I'm concerned, all the hype around CDC is great but this is where good ADs step in.  If he's not willing to fucking do the obvious thing in eating up his contract and hiring Urban, then CDC won't be here past 5 years.  Good luck raising money next year when your product on the field is fucking dog shit.

We've seen how this plays out.  Program puts together 2 good recruiting classes.  Coach decides to shit the bed and downward trajectory can be seen.  AD refuses to make a change.  Recruits realize they have better options and decommit.  Recruiting class becomes sub par.  Following year is the same results.  Recruiting is a disaster.  AD finally makes a change.  New coach comes in and says roster has no depth because of shitty recruiting classes.  Losing continues....

This can be salvaged but he needs to rip the bandaid and get the guy.  Hire Urban and recruits in Texas will be lining to play for him.

Would you call texas the Dallas Cowboys of college football?

Made the comparison on numerous occasions. Absolutely. Tom Herman/Strong = Jason Garrett. Terrible coaches and a terrible staff in general. Starts slow every game. Never adjusts. Simplistic offense. So many mistakes and stupid plays. Watching Texas on Saturday and Dallas on Sunday has been depressing for a long time.

Thanks. My non-Texas friends keep telling me that but I’m not a Cowboys fan.

This guy is a fraud. Plain and simple.

Not sure if he's actually a fraud or needed another 2 years at Houston followed by 2-3 years at a P5 school before he was ready for a big time program job. Herman didn't really work his way up and begin to understand what his weaknesses are. He just assumed like everyone else that he was ready to roll into any major job and start rolling off 10 win seasons like it was nothing. He is still under the impression that he is a top 5 coach in cfb despite nothing to actually prove that he is.

Meh. Matt Rhule has Baylor at 10 wins shortly after a 1-11 season. PJ Fleck goes to Minnesota and they are already a top 10 team.

Yeah, they are trying to paint an image that the players still care and that the locker room isn’t broken.  Reality is that many have checked out, we have multiple OL having meltdowns during the game, players punching coaches, and good starters looking to enter the portal because they hate their position coach.

This is what happens when a mid major coach thinks he’s hot shit and makes his players eat burnt toast and runny watery eggs.  These recruits have been recruited by actual national championship winning coaches and can tell the difference when they okay for a fraud. You guy remember the players at Houston making some not so endorsing comments when Herman left?  Atleast the players loved Charlie.

Scipio, who happens to be as arrogant as Herman, captured in few words what most of us have been saying, Tom Rhule has done a masterful job of teaching football for 3 years to less talented kids.

Quote

The Longhorns fell in Waco along with any slim hopes of tangible upside for the 2019 football season. The scoreboard read 24-10 after a late Longhorn touchdown with 0:01 on the clock, but it felt nowhere near as close as a two touchdown contest. There was a chasm separating the level of play and coaching between those two teams. If you were surprised to see the Longhorn methodically out-coached and outplayed by a more organized, more fundamental, smarter program, then you haven’t been paying attention all year.

Matt Rhule took over a Baylor program that had been set alight by scandal, had massive depth holes caused by lost recruiting classes, a litany of transfers, and horrible PR. He suffered through a 1-11 rookie season, improved to 7-6 in 2018, and now has the Bears at 10-1 in Year Three. He sailed upstream against rough currents and made impressive headway.

Tom Herman was hired at the same time as Rhule. He inherited a much better situation and had and has every conceivable program advantage. Three years into his program, the Longhorns are 6-5 and their quality of play is deteriorating by the week. The staff has been proven deficient as teachers and tacticians and the players continue to make glaring fundamental errors in elementary football basics.

Baylor has coaches that teach the game and a program culture anchored in substance.

Texas doesn’t.

The game in Waco was just further proof of that fact.

Hook ‘em.
