I'm sure players in both leagues don't want a lot of things. That's why CBAs exist. The point is that you don't get all of your demands met every time it's up for renegotation - it's a push and pull. Especially when you are asking for a huge increase in pay - whether it's overdue or deserved or not.

Either way there's a way to go about these things and condescendingly bitching about your job every time there's a mic in front of you isn't going to win you fan support or sympathy.

Well, see, that gets to the crux of it.  For fans like you there is nothing they could say, for or against, that wouldn't lead to criticism - so they don't really give a fuck what you want or think.  They've (players) have actually been pretty clear that you're not the fan they're courting.  So, instead, they'll do what every other union has done and they will ask for the moon and settle for what they can get.

I have no idea what this means. What types of fans are they courting? I don't blindly support athletes regardless of their gender or what league they play in. If I think someone is being a dumbass and a disservice to themselves and their colleagues I'll comment on it.

Is Patrick Beverly allowed to have an opinion? He played professional basketball for 18 years across multiple different leagues.

They are courting the handful of fans that existed before Caitlin Clark?

Sounds like a plan.

11 in a row for LV

Yeah, still 6 gms behind MIN but basically tied with ATL for the #2 spot and Aja has been beasting.   Making the MVP vote extremely interesting

Aja Wilson and Alisha Gray named players of the month.    This is the 13th time Aja has won PotM award.   A W record

THE WNBA IS HEREBY CANCELLED FOR 2025. NO REFUNDS.

Definitely need to table the contract/cba negotiations until she's back and they get the positive momentum again.

Aces beat the Lynx to make it 14 in a row.   They havent lost since the last matchup with the Lynx that lost by 50+.   now tied for the #2 and they own the tiebreakers over the Dream and the Mercury.

Alyssa Thomas is about to break the record for most assists in a single season and is avging 16/9/9 for the Mercury.    Aja going for 23/10/3 1.5 stls and 2 blks and have just won 14 in a row.  The MVP vote is going to be crazy

Collier sitting out tonight.   Lynx has the #1 seed locked up but are getting popped by the Fever.   She may be giving up on the MVP with eyes on being fully healthy and rested for the title run.

Aces going for 15 straight tonight against the Sky.

That's a TON of hardware for someone I've never heard of until right now. Crazy. Maybe I live under a rock even more than I thought.

You're forgiven if you didn't know about her 2x Euroleague championships, Liga Femenina or Womens Chinese Basketball association ones

But 4 NBA and 2 NCAA is legit.

Name is not even vaguely familiar like a...Cheryl Miller, Sheryl Swoopes, or Sue Bird.

Also assuming you surely meant WNBA not NBA...

I'm glad that stupid voters aren't limited to just men's sports.

Yeah I don't love Malika. She's the kid in class that reminds the teacher to pick up everyone's homework and snitches on you for playing dice and trying to pick up bitches at recess.

Man I do not like when they force everyone to play on Sunday, then only give 4 teams a day off while the other 4 get 2 days off

I know it’s all for TV, but I hate it

Yeah, I get the desire to have a full day of games but especially now that they are travelling between games 1 and 2 having only 1 day rest is not really cool

I blame the scheduling for LV’s streak being snapped. Fuck you, Cathy!

but the WNBA got what they wanted so far - both LV/SEA and ATL/IND going 3

Yep, they got an Indy home game and both series going to a 3rd game.    The Seattle stadium was on FIRE too though.   Wouldnt be surprised at all to see round 1 being 5 game series as well next yr.  2nd round has already been bumped to 5 and the Finals will now be 7

Hmmm. There’s been a small amount of complaining about going to 44 regular season games already. Will the players now be open to going to 17 postseason games instead of 15?

It would be the price they have to pay to get the money they want.

Increase roster spots per team and I’m all for it.

Yeah they are definitely going to have to do that.   For long term player development as well as short term overall team stability throughout the seasons.
