Won't you be going right through Llano?  Cooper's is pretty much Texas BBQ royalty.  Not my favorite, but damn good.

I’m only half Texan (Mom) and have been living in CA since 2003, so I’m out of the loop on where to go and have difficulty remembering where some towns are located. I’ve also had several Jamos and Lone Stars after driving 1,400 miles in two days.

Cooper’s will get programmed into the GPS. Thanks for the reminder/rec.

Just checked the TX Monthly map. Castell General Store and Payne's BBQ Shak (Burnet) are also on your route.

Haven't been to either.

Castell General Store serves one of the best cheeseburgers I've ever had.  I choose that over Cooper's any day, but why not both?

this is the best thing they serve. don't go expecting amazing...anything else.

Opies in Spicewood is great

It's All Good in Spicewood is worth a stop for the Jalapeno Poppers

The Jalapeño poppers are the only thing worth stopping for at It’s All Good.  The 2 times I have been there the brisket had a steamed taste and texture. Beef ribs were the worst I have had.
