This thread is about the wide receivers coach. You know, the guy who's been on the staff since 2019? He didn't inherit this WR situation, he created it.

No shit. Now go back and get your shinebox and carry on celebratory masturbating at the state of the program's demise, Satya you fucking eeyore fuck.

It always surprises me when people who follow this shit as much as I do can't even get basic shit straight. Coleman came on as an assistant WR coach in 2019. He was behind Mehringer and Meekins. He became the WR coach after those guys were reassigned/fired due to players vouching for him/no one else worth a shit willing to come. His only recruiting class is the Herman lame duck year, which is an unimpressive looking haul, but then you also consider that Herman supposedly meddled in WR recruiting because he played the position.

I say all that to say, yes Coleman sucks, but no, he isn't responsible for the lack of talent in the WR room. We need a guy that can recruit extremely well though.

Somebody said Mickey Joseph from LSU…Dude has an impressive resume. We all know what talent has came out of LSU but Without even looking at what he’s done there he had two WR get picked up out of Grambling (Chester Rogers - TEN & Chad Williams AZ)

Hes also known to be a top Recruiter.

I would definitely like that move if we did move on from Coleman

You're a braver man than me. I can't bring myself to click play on that shit.

yep.  Tom's assistant hiring was poor for the most part.  losing Johnston to TCU is ridiculous.

Most part? Every single assistant coach hire was underwhelming with the minimal defense that MENSA Tom may have personally meddled in the coaching provided by certain position coaches. Anyhoo, fuck Tom Herman for life.

This seems to be the most fair, balanced, and accurate take regarding Andre Coleman. The only thing I might add is that Coleman is underperforming based on the observation that the receivers either are not running the correct routes or are just plain unable to create separation. He had the receivers blocking with intent and effort to start the season, but that too has disappeared.

Mickey Joseph should be serviceable (how is he with recruiting Texas?), but should aim higher. Make Tee Martin say 'no thanks.' Now there's a guy who knows about NFL caliber WRs.

Brian Hartline - OST

Mickey Joseph - LSU

Keary Colbert - USC

Dennis Simmons - OU

THATS IT!!!!! That’s the list

no offense but I’m not trying to hear Samples right now. Not saying Samples can’t do it but he’s not known for coaching, give me the PROVEN ones who we know can coach and recruit cause they’ve done it.

We’ve ran into more problems then a little with “recruiting” coaching staffs and might be the reason we’re in the predicament

SImmons already said no last year. I'd be shocked if he came now. Hartline is also a non-starter.

I do think the requirements should be Coaching, and then Recruiting, not the other way around.

Disagree, WR is one of the easiest positions to coach. Recruiting and getting better talent far surpasses any coaching wizardry at WR

I played wr in high school. seems like the easiest position to play.

just learn the routes and catch the ball.

Just replace the WR coach with a bag of cash with a note inside that says “learn the routes and catch the ball”
