Are you opposed?

How does a progressive wealth tax in particular help effect the goal of making home ownership more attainable? I am open to the idea if you can connect the dots.

Foreign speculation in domestic housing markets seems to be low hanging fruit. Property taxes another one, but thats local/state and not federal. Maybe trade in a couple aircraft carriers to buy down mortgage rates. I don't know how people can make the current rates work with the current market prices for real estate.

Nothing wrong with drinking going down. Agree that reproduction rate is problematic. We'll break out of that one I think eventually, it's a bit of an uphill climb against some of the societal, cultural, and economic influences.

There isn’t a country in the world that has bounced back from birth rates slipping below 2.1 to back above it. And it ain’t happening in the US in our lifetimes.

It disincentivizes the wealth from treating a basic human need- housing- as an investment opportunity as to more what it actually should be, a public interest, and that's particularly true when those in power are barking about making homelessness a crime.

Has anyone actually modeled this? Is this really one of the primary outcomes expected from a progressive wealth tax?

Did anyone model the New Deal or Reagan Revolution? We know the outcomes.

So the answers are "no"?

If you just want a progressive wealth tax that is ok. You don't have to make unfounded claims about how it is going to make home ownership more attainable.

Agree completely. We need to make the american dream attainable again.

We should start with making the basic rights outlined in the Constitution attainable again

It won't be a magic wand, but over time, over multiple administrations?

If I had a gun to my head and was forced to bet, I'm betting on increased home ownership and no trillionaires standing in food lines.

I think we've had a breakthrough, Ana. You offered no solutions but genuinely listened. I think we've made real progress.

You're a clown. You realize other people can read this exchange right? You have called me a sociopath in your posts because you are basic, but only one of us has ever helped out other posters here tangibly in a moment of need. Be better.

You haven't killed it on one objective measure yet.  In years.  Your posts are intentionally ephemeral nonsense.
