I am seriously giving IPAs a real try, and they are growing on me. I just can't handle the super 75 IBUs and stuff like that yet.

The other thing about beers that I don't like, is that somebody still likes them and it drives cash flow for Brewers to make other good stuff. I don't have to like everything they make.

Saint Arnold Art Car in my throwback glass.  Saint Arnold  Brown Ale used to give $.50( I think) for every 12pk to SPCA or whatever charity to help doggies.  Have always liked this glass.  My hoppy conversion continues.

Did a doubletake on viewing that flight and googled Jellyfish Day (never been to Pinthouse either, but I've seen previous EJ discussion on this thread). Assume this is one of the guided flights ... @hacker, that flight probably won't bring either @Iceman or @sith_horn into the IPA fold, but what did you think?

I love IPAs. Certainly not the old traditional pine cone versions but the hazy stuff fits my palate

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Just missing the wasabi peas for the perfectly lethal church farts on Sunday morning.

( I had no idea 7-11 had private label beers( No 7-11's in my area.)

I’ve been up for 24 hours but had to have a beer and egg salad sandwich from 7-11 before crashing.

Couple of IPAs that guys brought back from their travels -- Devil Anse (Greenbrier Valley Brewing Co., Maxwelton, WV; 6.9 ABV, 71 IBU) and Slow Train (Marshall Brewing, Tulsa; 7.0 ABV, no IBU listed). I thought both were a little less hoppy and aromatic, but my taster may be off a bit after too many days of being irritated by wildfire smoke coming down from Canada.

I've never seen  an IPA claim "Pine" as a positive attribute.

This comment inspired me to read a little about hops that impart pine notes. I get why some earthy-herbaceous taste can be too much in a beer -- and how difficult it is to pull off the right combinations in brewing.

I've had three or four beers that incorporated spruce tips and generally was not impressed. I recall there was one decent one, but I ain't gonna track it down in my untappd history. It wasn't that good.

Sometimes there's a fine line between a subtle reminder of a great camping trip in the mountains and being smacked in the face with a hospital-bathroom mop.

batch was a lot better when they had guest beers. keep giving them a try and they continue to be below average. the 3's and 7's anniversary ipa at oddwood was really good though.

trying to wrap my head around a "belgian session IPA"

Are we just jamming words together?

That was North Shepherd Brewing's specialty.

53 and rainy here, which makes it feel more chilly. Good time to clean out some of the heavier stuff left hanging around from the winter. O'so Narcissist barrel-aged cherry imperial stout. 12.0 ABV and part of a line with one of the better cans out there.
