Bochy: “Elbow tightness” for Martin. Came out sounding ominous. Moreso since Bochy has a throat issue

----

Martin says he felt a couple of pops, but is not in pain. Had a situation while in Atlanta where he felt a pop, but ended up being a non-issue.

“I want to get ahead of this”

He's had a damn good career, but that's likely curtains.

There are a lot of guys here that like stick-figure blonde bimbos.

She could gain 15 and I'd still be very intrigued.

Rangers starters have a 2.96 ERA

Lonestarball says that's the first time under 3 in Rangers history, or I assume this late in the season.

Would it be a full run lower without Rocker's stats?

Likely. If I was bored enough I'd try calculating that out.

I did wonder what our reliever ERA, sitting at 3.85, would be without "closer"Luke in the mix. We may find out but I think he's day-to-day.

Probable starting pitcher matchups for this weekend's series vs. Houston:

Thurs. - RHP Jacob deGrom vs. RHP Hunter Brown
Fri. - RHP Nathan Eovaldi vs. RHP Lance McCullers Jr.
Sat. - RHP Tyler Mahle vs. RHP Ronel Blanco
Sun. - RHP Jack Leiter vs. TBA

Sunday is fucking noon on Roku. At least that's free for everyone.

Edited to add, because we need to lock this dude up whenever that is slated to happen

Josh Smith, who has started at seven different positions, has positive runs saved at three different positions (first base, second base and third base) already. “Where has he not made all the plays?,” Bochy said. “Really, every place I put him, he’s making diving catches in the outfield. He’s been great at second and short and impressive at first.”

He won't be a free agent until after the 2028 season. Arbitration eligible starting after this year. Agree that it would be smart to buy out his arbitration years and lock him up on a reasonable deal until his early-mid 30s. A guy that can OPS 750ish and play good defense all over the field is very valuable.
