Still no idea what to make of this team. Our 2 wins are against dogshit teams. Philly was a very weird game that completely changed after the weather delay, both offenses went into a shell. Terrible loss against a not good Bears team. Tied the Packers scoring 40 points against what was believed to be a real good defense.

Until the defense improves they’re a .500 teams.  The offense is elite mostly but does have issues at times.

I mean they’re starting 4 backups on the OL and missing 2 of their top 3-4 WRs so it’s not surprising they have a few issues moving the ball today at times.

They look clueless against the blitz. As if no team has ever figured out how to defeat it

Who?  Dak offenses are usually among the best vs the blitz.

And they have four backups on the OL.

WTF is that penalty?

I’d appreciate if the defense didn’t go into prevent this soon.

Fuck this defense. This game should be over and here we are still giving up easy 4th downs.

Easy fucking TD.  Fuck this soft ass pussy defense. Basically walked them down the field.

Soft ass mother fuckers. 2 score game now.  No god damn resistance.

even if a game that should be like 37-9 or some shit is now still in doubt and instead of pulling Dak and the starters they gotta keep playing.

I don’t know why I’m irrationally upset about that score but I am.

Just silly they gave up 21 points to this fucking jets team.

This is not a good sign for the defense. It’s way too fucking easy for them.  Both 2 pt conversions were fucking wide open

And I’m only upset because the fucking panthers just made a massive come back and I just know they’re going to look amazing next week too.

Rico Dowdle had 200+ yards today. He’s going to torch us.

Meh, Dallas defense held NY to 6 points for 3 quarters. The equivalent of getting huge leads in basketball, and inevitably you loosen up and the score looks closer than it was at the end. I'm not saying the defense is good but they were great today. The whole 4th qtr was "garbage time".

Yeah well seeing what carolina did today I’m expecting a Giants/Packefs this game.

offense will have to put up 40+ and be near perfect.

They took their foot off the gas in the 4th. It doesn’t matter and they shouldn’t have to score 40 against Carolina. Calm down Drew.

Nah I’ve seen this defense.  I fully expect them to give up big runs and not be able to get off the field.

id love to be wrong though.

Not sure what you’re trying to say here man.

this defense is awful. Carolina has some backbone.  They can move the ball and score.

im worried they’re going to run up and down the field on Dallas.  Based on what we’ve seen so far that’s a legitimate concern

Yeah, this is a really shitty defense. Maybe the worst ever. Feel sorry for Jets Fans. There'll be injuries and it will just get worse. There was one ray of hope...

Thought I saw several brutal hits today and a couple of fumbles. If they want to find a new identity that would be a good way to go.  Maybe they want to get rid of their new nickname - The Cowpussies.

Fuck yea.... If anyone is going to become a playmaker, who's already on the roster besides Pickens and Turpin, it's going to be Flournoy..... Keep giving him reps and snaps.  He's way better than Tolbert.

Validation!!!!  You win some, you lose some, but I do think today is indicative in that Flournoy is the 3rd more talented WR on the roster and could end up being a 2/3 in time..... For now, if he can just help hold the fort down until CeeDee team, then take Tolbert's role once Lamb comes back.  Another fantastic day by the offense and finally the defense contributed.  Solid road win.

Eagles lost today.  Sweet

Congratulations to ex-Cowboys Asst. Head Coach and offensive genius Sean Payton who left us to join the 3-13 Saints for the 2006 Season along with Drew Brees coming out of San Diego. They took the 3-13 Saints to I think 13-3 in his first season. Parcell coached thru 2006 then retired. In the Broncos come from behind win, Payton went for two following the go-ahead score to give them a 4 pt lead.

We were left with Tony Romo and Mr. Excitement Wade Phillips. We had a good year in 2007, but we know which team got the best of that "deal."

Woulda liked to have seen Payton stay here and maybe pick up Brees. Trade Romo for draft picks. We get Wade, then Garrett and Mike McCarthy. Didn't Romo fumble an extra point attempt that kept us out of an NFC Championship game or something like that? An extra point attempt...

One other question. Does anyone know if Payton just plain hated Jerry Jones and wanted out?

Saints called Payton and offered him the job. At the time, it didn't seem Parcells would be gone after that year. He didn't want to pass up a head coaching position, even if it was the Saints. Dallas didn't seem interested in making him the head coach. Don't think there was any bad blood, just an assistant getting the call to become a head coach.

That getting worked up over Carolina after watching a meaningless 4th quarter Cowboys defense today is…a choice.

May be an image of 2 people, people playing football, crowd and text that says 'L 53 53 1 JAMES HOUSTON MICAH PARSONS 3.5 MLFOOTBALL -SACKS- - 2.5 $1.1M -ANNUAL SALARY X _MIFOOTBALL 00 $45.1M'

He's been so good.  We've criticized the personnel department, deservedly, with a lot of the defensive acquisitions via draft or UFA on this team, but it seems one guy they hit big on was Houston.  Fully recovered from his injury, he's playing fantastic ball.  My only question is why not unleash him more?

Some other fun tidbits.... Doubt we get many truly satisfying wins this year like this one.

This last stats is nuts....

I gotta wonder if Jones completely overlooked the possibility that Parcells might retire. I wonder if he sat both guys down (maybe even separately) and had some real heart to heart talks about where they wanted to be. Who knows, maybe Parcells would have hedged slightly about his workload and long-term plans. Jones coulda moved him out and kept Payton. OTOH, Jones doesn't sound like the kind of manager that has those kinds of conversations. Payton still going strong. I sure as hell think he would have been a better coach here than any of the others. Look at what Rogers said about Mike McCarthy. Payton could have gotten more outta Dak. Kudos to him.

FWIW, Jones coulda hired him when he left the Saints 3 yrs ago when he refused to confirm McCarthy had his support.

I get it but a lot of it was hindsight. I can't remember the thoughts on Payton when he was here and if there was any rumblings of him being the next coach. I don't think there was. Parcells was definitely up there in age by then and I would hope they were having talks of what would be the plan after Parcells. Jerry only brought in Parcells as a splash hire to get that stadium built. I don't think either of them liked working with each other.

Payton was the main guy who kept Romo on the practice squad, though. Him and Bill saw something in him but he was about to be cut until good ol Quincy Carter got arrested for weed and Romo got his spot. I do think Payton working with Romo as HC would have been way better than Wade/Garrett.

It was the shitass Jets, but it was nice to have an easy win. Lots of good things on display for the Cowboys in the game. They were playing against an actual NFL team, and a very depleted Cowboys offense did pretty well against them, particularly the O-line. Flournoy looked like a real discovery, though that has to be seen repeated in the future. At least we can have a little bit of confidence on receiver depth. Williams still looks great, hopefully will stay healthy and possibly even lead the running attack for a few years to come.

Some actual pass rush was cool. Linebackers making tackles was nice.

Still probably a .500ish team overall, but if they could get a few areas shaped up and more guys returning full speed, maybe a bit better.
