The talking heads are trying to paint lil dude as a villain when he just wants to play. He is being pushed out but that looks bad for recruiting so the narrative is he is asking for too much money. He was getting less and less balls at the end of the season so you could see this coming. I would be pissed too if I caught two balls for 104 and a TD vs Arkansas and the very next week I got 1 ball for 19. Anyone who believes in themselves is not going to take that lying down. I hope he does well wherever he goes unless it's against us.

You need to calm down. Are you his agent?

The top two WRs in the NFL are Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Puka Nacua. They each had games this year where they had 2 catches for 20 yards. It happens. That's the nature of the position.

Regardless of the specific two games, his targets did seem to drop off a bit as the season progressed. And he evidenced a few more drops.

Texas should have ponied all the way up and paid this stud the $800k he’s demanded.

Are these not being handled like contract negotiations? Is there not a number we could've landed on that both parties would've been happy with? Between this and the Wisner situation, it's being painted as a kid comes in asking for a high number and Sark just yells to get the fuck out of his office and they're completely written off.

I'd be more interested in knowing what offer they turned down that they think they can beat on the open market.

Even if it is, these guys are now paid professionals and they should be looking to be paid the highest wage they can, or whatever maxes their individual goals (awards, trophies, etc). Same as the rest of us.

Well, they are contract negotiations. That doesn't mean that anyone has to compromise.

As in many sports contract negotiations, the player's value is a matter of some speculation and, likely due to agents, players seem to often overplay their hand. Then again, there always seems to be some greater fool willing to come close to their price.

fuck him.

Why? Because he’s white?

He made some plays this year and bailed us out of games where Moore and Wingo disappeared. Put his body on the line a few times for Arch.

Good luck to him, hope he does well at Indiana.

he goes to indiana he will do well and we will wonder why the fuck we can't have nice things, but I also think it's fine that he leaves, bc I don't think we have the institutional shit together to turn JAGs into All-Americans like Coach Cig does.

Is this amateur hour? "Nature of the position" Lol. Game after game after game with very few targets isn't the nature of the position. Nature of the position is Jeremiah Smith being bracket covered so we have to go to someone else. Nature of the position isn't being off the field for half the fucking snaps.

Sark has a small rotation and it doesn't make a shit what you do if he has already had it in his minds who his rotation is. Lockett comes in the game goes and wins a 50/50 ball better than the 84 balls Wingo has been thrown over the last two seasons. You think we couldn't use that vs Georgia? Christian Clark just danced around defenders to the tune of 100 yards but sat on the sideline all season while we handed the ball off to Baxter.

Sark had Brooks on the sideline and even started Baxter over Brooks. Sark had Wisner on the sideline. Sark had Cam Williams out there all season whiffing on pass pro and being the most penalized lineman in the country. Meanwhile we had Gooseby sitting on the bench, and then coming in and pitching a shutout in relief of Banks. We could've slid him over to right tackle and maybe we don't lose to Ohio State. One day you will see what's going on here. We don't make a lot of personnel or strategical adjustments unless we have to.

Don't you dare talk that way about Johntay. He provided us a lot of entertainment this time last year.

Best was when he was at Washington for48 hours before being asked to leave, though he claimed deciding to leave was a 'mutual decision.' Word is he stole stuff from other player's lockers.

Glad to see he has gotten himself back together to some degree, though the talk is he wants to transfer again.

his small rotation at WR is maddening, same with RB, why wasn't Clark getting carries this year? head scratchers.

Sounds like the name of a movie about soldiers in Iraq.

Or maybe the play the QB calls in the movie to win the game:
"Okay, screw coach. Let's go with 84 balls Wingo. (Other players gasp) And Tommy, I'll have the ball there. You got this!!!!"

Mosley getting healthy is the primary driver there. Livingstone was a perfectly adequate receiver as 3rd or 4th option. He runs good routes, but he doesn't have any real elite traits. His high average per reception is a result of him only being really open on long routes or broken plays. He wasn't a guy you could do much with on shorter routes.

Clark was completely ineffectual at the beginning of the season. He looked much faster in the bowl game than at any other point. I think he just may finally be healthy.

More maddening to me is playing a 6th round tackle when you have a 1st round tackle twiddling his thumbs on the bench, while you have a QB that operates at a high level with a cleaner pocket. We lost game because of that decision. But yes, watching Baxter run into the back of the line all year was frustrating. Now watch James Simon turn out to be a dog. Par for the course.

Being mad that Wingo isn't winning 50/50 balls is like being mad that Blue wasn't running through tackles on third and short. It is just a different skill set. He is elite when he has the ball in space, which is why he plays and gets a lot of targets. No one else on the team is turning a wide receiver screen into a 70+ yard touchdown. And he is getting better at the other parts of being a receiver. He is miles better this season than last. If he seems a similar jump next season, he will legit be one of the best receivers in college. But even if not, he is a great #2 with an elite skill set that can't be easily replicated. Nothing that Livingstone does can't be replaced with any number of D1 receivers.

Yeah Clark seemed to be a different dude in the Citrus Bowl. Made me question UM D. But there are other explanations also.

Quite a few of the younger players kind of showed out. Doesn't necessarily mean they would have done so earlier in the season, but it was quite gruntling.

Special shout out to Warren Roberson. That boy kinda aggro and I don't think he accounted for any penalties for once.

Clark was completely different in the bowl game. Roberson knocked himself out laying the wood.

I didn't realize our talent and depth was at a point where it's okay to lose solid, P4 starters.

Right or wrong, Texas probably feels like they have plethora of solid P4 starters in that room (and coming in the portal) and they see more upside in some of the younger guys. Just a guess. There's only so many balls to go around. Even if you wanted to money whip all of them into staying, a room full of talented receivers who aren't getting any snaps won't turn out well. PL has done enough this year to be a starter somewhere, I don't blame him for wanting to go that route if the coaches are telling him he's ~6 on the depth chart at Texas (which is about where he'd be if we get a WR1 in the portal and Wingo comes back).

I keep hearing about how Wingo is elite in space. I have yet to see him be elite with the ball in space vs Ohio State and Georgia. You know, when we need him to be. What I saw was a guy who couldn't win against physical defense, falling with the slightest contact, dropping balls, and tripping on his own feet. I see a guy with a shit ton of potential but very little productivity. I'm mad at Wingo because he doesn't do anything we can rely on against quality competition.

Again, we lost 3 WR's and 3 RB's. The powers that be would like you to believe it's a money thing. Meanwhile we run the same two back and 3-4 receivers all season barring injury. If you are outside of that you don't play. But yeah, it's about the money.

he was shoe string tackled against tOSU in the playoffs I think coulda been the SEC championship game but had he taken that screen and "broken" that tackle literally a hand on his shoe, he would have housed the catch for a TD. the guy is super easy to tackle.

Our OL did become serviceable by the end of the year as well. this plus probably getting reps in practice and some good run in the bowl game helped.
