Saying Hollywood is out of ideas on the heels of One Battle, Sinners, Marty Supreme and Weapons is really something.

That is a sad list

Just saw “Is This Thing On?”. Bradley Cooper directed (and a supporting role) with Will Arnett and Laura Dern. My wife picked it. Interesting subject when your marriage is facing some challenges. It was fine. Nothing more.

Seyfried’s acting in this was pretty good. Sweeney was, well, she did what her fans want to see. She got naked and that’s about it. Her acting in Christy and Eden was actually good. The only part of this where her acting was above par was when she was angry in the 2nd half of the film. I hope for her sake she finds some way to be in movies where she doesn’t have to get naked for anyone to show up and watch it because hoo boy she is not going to age well.

Agree with you on both Seyfried and Sweeney in the Housemaid. It's a shame they didn't use Sweeney better. I thought she was good in Americana this year in addition to the two you mentioned.

Wife and I saw it this afternoon. We both liked it quite a bit, but agreed that it could have easily been 30 minutes shorter.

Saw it yesterday. Wife and sister loved it. I thought it was too long. I also didn't get the point of the film but it was later explained to me that I should have paid closer attention to the animated sperm that won the race to fertilize the egg at the beginning of the film, and how it did so. None of the main characters were particularly like-able. It garners almost solid 100s on metacritic, with one of the few sub-100 scores coming from Aus Chron.

Marty Supreme is a ride!

Casting was in the bag on this one.

the ping pong cage dude is that homeless man that went viral with the radio voice?

or am I wrong?

Haven’t seen the movie but see that note about the homeless dude being in the movie

One Battle After Another - great movie! should sweep the Oscars.

Paltrow showing up to the hotel….. yea I’m pounding too.

Kid got game.

need the gif when she takes off her mink.

Marty Supreme was...something. It was too long and I didn't love it, but the acting was great all around and there were some fun cameos. I was especially surprised at how decent Kevin O'Leary was (although, from my understanding, he was basically playing himself). I don't watch Shark Tank and know very little about him so I had to look up whether or not he'd acted before. His line where he says

"I was born in 1601. I'm an immortal vampire" had me lol. It was so random.

I didn't recognize Penn Jillette. Also, I thought Wally was the actor who played Avon Barksdale until I looked it up after.

I do think this role will win Timmy C his Oscar.

Fran Drescher…

That’s who his mom is!!! I couldn’t figure it out

mega crush on her back in my teen years

I left this movie. I was rooting for the monkey to wreck everyone and he was batting a 1000 and going hard in the paint when I walked out. I think that @Nivek would be team monkey for this one.
