When I read the McDonald headline I just assumed he was transferring or leaving. I had to do a double take when it said he was returning. Glad he is back!

Yeah, Jelani has a shot to have an awesome season in 2026 !! 🤘

When Wisner is playing elsewhere next year and Kewan Lacy is running for 1800 yards at Texas, you’re going to have a blast cheering for the San Diego State Aztecs. We’ll send you a box of Kleenex to c

I love Wisner, but if Baxter hadn’t been made of glass he likely would have been a backup his entire time here. He was fun when he was on! But he was also very streaky.

I’m going to need to hear from the other 23 Asians before weighing in with a comment.

Before Jax St he was at TCU and didn’t do much of anything. So did he get better or did the competition get easier. Either way he isn’t a sure thing like most are making him out to be.

He is a very good back.

Asking for $1m despite having 1,700 career rushing yards is also bitchmade

Would think the alumni made more than 1 mm on the OU and aTm games. But guessing we have some badass in the pipeline, and another about to get here.

If he ever learned to play wr…what a hell of a statement. I get there’s a small sliver of upside to him but “we’re Texas” counts for rb but not wr? If we are going to magically pull out our wallets and completely fix the rb room then I don’t think it’s a stretch to tamper a wr to the portal that already knows how to play wr. I feel like I’m taking crazy pills saying we just need a wr1 that knows how to play wr. What a strange world.

Wingo is (right now, 2 seasons in) a better WR with better upside than Wisner (right now 3 seasons) ever has been an RB at Texas.

This. I bet we already have one or two lined up, and if I had to make a guess, one of them is in the CFP as we speak. Maybe it's hope, I dunno, but I want to believe at least one will be Kewan Lacy. I'll be happy with Lacy or Baugh, or shit, both. We can use both to save mikeage for them going to the draft.

Absolutely agree 100%. He went from 472 receiving yards as a true frosh with 5 TD's to (currently, he'll add more in the bowl game) to 770 receiving yards. That's over 300 more yards. He's gotten much better. He'll get over 800 by the time the year is over.

Wisner went from barely cracking 1, 065 yards in 115-16 games to almost cut in half to 600 yards. He only had exactly one 100 yrd rushing game, and that was against aggy in the last game. One. He almost had two more against ou and fOSU. Yeah, that ain't gonna cut it, especially with just 3 TD's rushing and 1 receiving.

Maybe Cooper can push for PT too…

So... This season's rushing woes are now a Wisner issue and not a gaping hole at Left Guard issue?

Y'all some woes.

I don't know why everybody has their panties in a wad. Remove his best game and what are we missing here?

He is a very good back at the Jax St level. He was not a very good back at a P5 school(TCU). I’d take a flier on him as the second RB take out of the portal but not as RB1. Too much of a gamble.

Oh, for sure. He's a dude that people are sleeping on. Not to mention we may also have found a spot for Michael Terry in the back field. So we have Cooper, (maybe) Terry, Simon, Clark, and a transfer or two. It's not as dire as we first thought. Sure, they're young, but that's what the transfer(s) are for. We also saw Sark finally get creative and use Townsend back there like I've always wanted, so we have dudes that are big and strong. Cooper isn't a small guy, either. He's like 6'1 205 lbs and he won the prestigious Nat Moore trophy for the best player to step on the field in florida, I believe. He won't be a RS, he'll for sure play if he's not hurt. You don't sit a beast like him.

It's both, honestly. Wisner did some freaky jump cuts, but yeah, our LG was beyond abysmal. There really are no words to describe how bad it was. But, Wisner also had the same issues running behind Campbell, too. It was just not good. Wisner isn't a RB1, but I also don't see anyone in the country outside of maybe 3-4 RB'S that could have made chicken salad out of chicken shit from our line.

I wouldn't even bother taking him period. He's bad at the highest level, which we could use a scholarship on a RB that can average more than 3.9 ypc. Even Wisner averaged 4.6, and he's not even close to being RB1.

A million bucks can buy two Wisners. I could get you a Wisner by 3pm.

A million dollars could quite literally buy you 10 running backs the equivalent of Wisner.

I didn’t say it is a stretch to pay a WR1. I simply said there would be a lot of demand for Wingo in the portal. He is a menace with the ball in his hands. Just look at his screen production. Georgia took an athlete playing WR last year. HIs name was Zachariah Branch. Like 70% of his catches came inside of 10 yards on the LOS. He transformed their offense. People pay for playmakers even if they are still raw

I don’t think anybody will debate that sir, but who is turning wingo into a “actual wr” on this staff? I’m not against Wisner leaving or Wingo staying but I feel a sense here that we are hoping sark has this all figured out and the roster will be better come February. That’s laughable.

Reps.

Reps will turn him into an actual WR.

Got no issue with him leaving but at least his best three games were top 10 opponents. He balled out. Too many Texas players fucking turtled up this year. Need gamers every game. Go get them.

I’m fairly ignorant but poring over the roster and recruit rankings this is the list of guys by position group I think can be reasonably expected to contribute next season:

DL: Kanu, January, Watson, Johnson, J Terry

EDGE: Simmons, Spence, Omeozulu, Jackson, Vasek, Wesley

LB: Smith, Barnes, Atkinson, Okpala

DB: Black, McDonald, Williams, Phillips, Littleton, Mack

QB: Manning, Lacey, Bell

RB: Clark, Simon

TE: Townsend, Washington

WR: Wingo, Mosley, Livingstone, Niblett, Lockett, Ffrench, M Terry, Bishop

OL: Baker, Goosby, Chapman, Cojoe, Cruz, Omeozulu

So for me the portal needs are: 2 RB, 4 OL, 1 DL, 1 LB, and 2 DB

Edited by Snake Diggity

50 receptions for 770 yards and 7 TDs from a guy that isn’t a WR is pretty damn good. And that’s with his QB having to figure shit out for like half the season. For reference Worthy went for 60/760/9 his sophomore year but maybe he wasn’t a WR yet either.

The kid is a WR. He just needs to do a better job catching the ball and clean his routes up a bit.

Barring injury (or 2 expensive RBs in the portal), Cooper WILL get carries next year.

Right?! I want a damn 1,600+ yard/20+ TD back dammit!

Muschamp probably walked in the secondary room and slapped a list of his DBs and their draft positions on the wall and walked out.

I vote for both. Hell, when ohio state went "all in" they had both judkins and henderson in one backfield. Two second rounds draft picks.
