Going to New Orleans in March 2026 for a wedding of my wife's college friend.  Most of their crew is staying at the Hotel Peter and Paul, which I've never heard of.  Any reviews?

We've been staying in the Warehouse District our last several trips, and that's our preferred home base, but I'm open to the Quarter.

I've stayed there and as was said above, it is "unique".

Nice place though!

It can be loud, especially if you're getting in bed before the last of a wedding crew gets tucked in.

Either stay up and be the loud one getting in late/early, be mentally lubricated so you don't hear anything, or bring a fan/sleep machine to drown it out.  Worse on the 1st floor of course.

Lighting in most rooms leaves a little to be desired (understandable in the context of a restored old church) so if your wife/GF/hooker will care about that while getting ready, be prepared with a lighted makeup mirror.

That was the only issue I heard out of my crew.

Rooms are not cookie cutter so you may have a structural beam in the middle of or weirdly shaped oblong room, but in understanding what it is and why you're there that shouldn't be an issue.

It's certainly got charm and the appeal of something historic that was preserved.

If the wedding is there (they have a chapel / reception area and do lots of weddings) then it is definitely advantageous to be there.  Might be harder to justify if the wedding is elsewhere.

It's neither the Ritz nor a Hampton Inn, but it isn't supposed to be.

The Who Dat Cafe is a few feet away and is a great spot for breakfast and to watch some of the local characters.

We've done a second line from there to Frenchmen and it was, er..um.... interesting.

The Peter and Paul reviews aren't really doing it for me.  But it sounds just like the place my wife's college friends would book -- boutique and chique.  I'd rather go elsewhere, but I'll just have to suck it up, I guess.

It’s in the Marigny, not the Quarter

Look, sir, I didn't ask for a geography lesson.

Went to Saffron tonight for the 2nd time and I’ve made up my mind it’s my favorite Nola restaurant.  A tasting menu isn’t listed anymore, but they did it for us anyway.  It was so freaking good.

EJ Lagasse bringing the first two Michelin stars to the South. Bet the bros at Saint Germain are pissed.

Thrilled for Sue Zemanick to get the other star. She ran Gautraeau’s for years and her spot in Mid-City, Zasu, flies way under the radar.

I was happy to see Saint Germain get a star.  My youngest son was a line cook there until he moved to New York City in June to get different culinary experience.   Eldest son is a manager with the Donald Link organization, and they had nice things to say about the entire restaurant group. I totally agree about Zemanick.   The only problem I ever had with Gautraeau’s was the damn acoustics in the dining room.  The food was pretty consistently great.

Oh, I encourage everyone to check out. Saint Claire, a relatively new restaurant in an old plantation house in Algiers about 15 minutes from the fridge quarter.   I was only there once, and with my son who knew the chef, so it was a bit outside the normal dining experience because of all the delicious comped small plates.

But everything was perfect.

That’s the new Melissa Martin concept, right? Totally forgot about. Damn, holiday dining list is getting full.
