Lol I've seen so many posts saying "Boo hoo Sark played for the field goal, he's such a pussy, wah wah wah" Anyone who actually thinks that watches this game way too emotionally and doesn't know what they are actually watching and everything is filtered through your own confirmation bias. Just to remind you of the sequence. With two time outs left. First down-shot at the end zone, incomplete. Second down - 7 yard rush, time out. If Sark was playing for the field goal, you let the clock run down here. But they took a time out expecting that they would be able to convert on 3rd and 3. I guarantee you that if this second down run gets stuffed and it's a 3rd and long, then it would've been a shot at the end zone. But since it was third and short, now you're thinking, we have a chance to get a first and get extra chances. At this point, Wisener is averaging about 4 yards per carry. Not great, but he just got a 7 yard run. You expect him to be able to pick up 3 yards. In fact, watching the game back, Sark calls the exact same run play with just a slightly different motion because Arky is playing the exact same defense. He's expecting to get the first down there. If Tre gets the first down, clock stops, now you've got THREE shots at the end zone with 30 seconds left instead of one shot on a 3rd and 3, which is apparently what many of you wanted instead. That run had just gone for 7 yards...Sark was playing for the first down, not for the field goal. Again, get the first down, now you've got 3 shots at the end zone with 30 seconds left and a time out. Third down - Alas, Tre does not get the first down. Penetration in the right A gap forces him to improvise. Not getting the first down there screwed up the plan. Now it's 4th down, in FG range, and you get the ball back coming out of halftime. Take the points.

Holy shit you dipshits: 9-3 Texas is probably in the playoffs
Ricky Butler replied to Wulaw Horn's topic in Football
Dude, we're getting in because of Arch. College wants the mouth breathing NFL fans to tune in. All the CFB wonks on this site are overthinking it. NONE OF IT MATTERS. -
I get that Sark likes to party too much and has an addiction. But whoever shared the UW party bus story where Sark, Nansen, Wilcox, and Sirmon showed up shitfaced to an alumni event, thinking it would make me lower my opinion of him is sorely mistaken. I WISH I WAS ON THE BUS.

Rickey Stewart bailed?

By the first time our offense stepped onto the field we were up 21-0.

Texas is about to take A&M to the woodshed, we’re a flawed team, a year from our true potential, but the matchups play right to Texas. A healthy Hill is critical. But Texas, at home… with a healthy (simplified) offense having found its identity… and a fired up defense returning to its season norm… beats this Aggie team by two scores or more… they are a fake news version of a good team, the equivalent of a big 12 north team who played no one and is about to get a reality check of playing real football looks like

Spent a lot of time this weekend just talking to people in the city organically. Had a wonderful time with the volunteers at the Merchant House Museum by NYU. They care so much about the place and spent around 30 minutes talking to me and the mrs. about the museum and everything from gardening to the laws of thermodynamics. Even gave us some merch for free and we can't recommend the place enough. Quote of the conversation when they asked where we're from and we said Texas was, "Well that's certainly a place." Talked to a bus boy at an Argentinian Restaurant (Estancia Piola) in Brooklyn who is from Puebla in for a bit about his commute from Queens and the struggle to survive in the city. On the opposite side of the spectrum we talked to the owner of the restaurant who was really trying very hard and had fantastic food if your ever in the neighborhood. Her husband owns the dive next door. Finally on the drive to EWR today we talked to a Dominican who lives in Yonkers with a good union construction job that drives for uber/Lyft 7 days a week just to keep it going. He loves the city, but still makes it a point to go back to Santo Domingo every few months for some vacation. The people in the city are so much friendlier than they get credit for.

My rankings of the cheap 100 proof bourbons. 1) OF100 2) Tom Moore BiB 3) Benchmark Bonded As Bert outlined in some previous posts, Tom Moore BiB is an outstanding value pick. It’s a handle of 1792 BiB for $22. I think you’d have to work for Barton to tell the difference in a blind tasting.

I’ve been procrastinating on this, but acquired all of the ingredients for Rick Bayless’ Black Mole recipe a while ago and finally decided to make it in advance of Thanksgiving. Recipe for the Unitiated I’ll spoiler the ingredients because otherwise it will give you nightmares worse than a certain OU cheerleader. Toasting the chilis… Ready for rehydration.. Post blending… Skipping ahead 12 hours (including the destruction of my kitchen because making mole is fucking messy)… It is, in fact, a good bit darker in person. Just added salt and sugar per the recipe and it’s amazing. I’m going to let it cool, refrigerate, then bring it to temp on Thanksgiving, adding more salt and sugar as needed (Bayless says it’ll need more of both as the flavors meld). If anyone is inspired, the hardest part is that it’s labor intensive, particularly toasting the chilis (though they are more forgiving than a roux). The Bayless recipe also says it’ll produce 2-3 quarts but this is an 8 quart pot and I’d guess there is 6-7 quarts in there and it’s pretty thick.

I think almost any bartender would recommend 100 proof bourbons for cocktails. You might as well buy OF100 it’s only $8-9 more than 86. Jackie Zykan let it slip once that tbeh blend 8 year distillate in OF100. It’s excellent.

I’m all for Texas playing the top tiers. I mean this is horse poop . For arguments sake. Heck no to playing a Rig 12 Texas school or any of the original members for that matter. We do have Arizona State scheduled a few years down the road, but I wonder if that was done before their jump to the Rig 12? If we want to take up Ketch’s suggestion, we should schedule that P4 slot for someone like a Purdue, Syracuse, Pitt, Virginia and do it with one year contracts to insure its a home game. But no, keep the Ohio States, Michigans, and Norte Dames please. -
Can we haz the center and guards that are opening the holes for him? He’s not even being touched until 10 yards past the LoS on many of those runs. It’s hard to imagine a rb not being mauled right when he takes the handoff, but I have Battered Longhorn Oline Syndrome.

Pluribus - Vince Gilligan and Rhea Seehorn

I’m warming on the official podcast. Vince has appeared in every episode and Rhea has been in 2 of the 4. There’s a bonus episode with Helen. It’s an inside baseball look at how they made the show. No theory discussion unfortunately, but still interesting. -
I didn't say you have no control over it. Every addict that recovers and achieves abstinence exercises some control, some choice. But it's not a simple choice of "don't drink" or "drink less." But the top science in the field is that addicts brains essentially "overreact" to the introduction of substances in a way that others don't. And that never goes away. And it gets worse the more you feed it. Corollary to that is, the only cure is complete abstinence, and secondarily, if you resume, your brain is in approximately the same state you left it, so, if you were a bad drunk when you quit, you're gonna be a bad drunk in a hurry if you start back up, even if it's 20 years later. A guy like Sark that has a demonstrated history of bad decisions relating to alcohol. Alcohol doesn't help anyone's decisions, but most people are in control enough as adults not to show up to work-related events shiftfaced. An adult with a high-responsibility job that shows up shiftfaced on the regular has a problem, a lack of control that evinces an addiction. A guy like that is going to have to remain abstinent. If he doesn't, the wheels are going to come completely off.

The last straw should’ve been last week against UGA when at halftime, the Reporter chic asked Sark his thoughts and he noted our running game looked great. When in reality as it’s been most of the season, it’s was dog diarrhea. Beam me up!
