The Leopards Eating Faces and Unlubed Dildo of Consequences Thread
BevoAbyss replied to Horn Dog's topic in Cloak Room
Let's see now. We got former Conservatives defending Reagan as a Teflon God .... and yet saying it's not a precedent related to MAGAs who see Trump as a Teflon God. Hilarious... and terrifying. The level of doublethink is staggering. -
And this is just darn interesting. Next month Huntsville has an event called Maple Hill Cemetery Stroll where over 70 of us play various people buried in the cemetery. I am playing the former head of Studebaker and building an early 1920's outfit. I decided I needed a pocket watch. For some reason I have my Dad's old jewelry box which has items from his dad. I found the Longines below. All it needed was a new crystal. It still ran and kept time. The serial number is from late 1890's so 125 year old. My real question that can't be answered is why it was there. Dad never wore it and my Mom made a shadow box years ago with a pocket watch from my grandfather. Also my grandfather probably would not have paid the price for a Longines. My only theory is that Dad acquired it because he played the same person in the stroll 20 years ago.

Charlie Kirk assassinated at an event in Utah [Crazy Person]

The other issues with the VY comparisons is that VY was not running a spread offense until 2005. Comparing stats for spread vs. non-spread QBs is completely meaningless. VY piled up 1000+ rushing yards his freshman, sophomore and junior seasons. Is Arch adding that level of production on the ground? No? Then it's time to stop making this comparison.

Charlie Kirk assassinated at an event in Utah [Crazy Person]
tigol replied to msbesq's topic in Cloak Room
This is fucking accurate. I didn't hear about it until I got home and my husband immediately asked me if I knew that Charlie Kirk "had been assassinated." I didn't know who the fuck that was. My fist thought when I heard the term assassinated was that I must be behind on my world leaders. When I figured it out and asked him why he gave a shit, he said that "the fellas have been blowing my phone up about it all day. I didn't know the guy. I thought you would since you keep up with stuff." Yet, 5 minutes earlier someone had been assassinated and it was a big deal. -

Steph MJ Larry KD Jokic everyone can shoot, and just as importantly with the fate of the world in the balance (im assuming), all of these guys are cold blooded killers. ice water in their veins. -
the thing about all of the mentions that VY was really struggling his redshirt sophomore year against OU and Mizzou before turning it around (besides the fact that we’re comparing arch to VY) is that the solution to VY’s problem was for mack and GDGD to get the fuck out of the way and just let VY (and in turn RT, jamaal, selvin, etc) be himself and do his thing. we literally just needed our coaches to get out of Black Jesus’s way. that’s not the case with Arch. something is clearly off, because he never looked like this last year. we all expected him to take a step forward, and instead he looks like a make-a-wish kid dying of throwing-shoulder cancer. which means that there’s either some magic, instant fix that we need for sark to find, or, that we are supremely screwed as we’ve hitched our wagons to Arch, and there’s no one else who is going to step in and take over. the most pessimistic person on the planet could not have predicted this level of complete ineptitude. if the answer isn’t something that we can discover and fix overnight then this season (and this board) are going to get ugly.
-
His career is over. Thirty years old and he tears his Achilles as a RB? Not coming back from that.
-
So I was masochistically perusing social media to read people's reactions on Arch's abysmal performance and some Texas fans were swearing up and down Arch is an alcoholic. They said he's at Fiji (I guess that's a frat?) every night getting plastered. Surely that's just nonsense, right?

I'm going full Derka here. I'm sure @Derka will like to submit his lineup. The spaceship lands. They tell you that they have a team full of ballers that is ready to take you out. You don't know anything other than the fact that everyone on their team is within the confines of human size and athleticism and general basketball skill. International rules. Your team gets two weeks of prep then they get thrown into the tourney. Pick whatever coaching staff you want. For this exercise you get to pick each player at their absolute peak. It doesn't have to coincide with an Olynpic year. But you have to pick a season. I'm going: 2022 Steph Curry 1993 Michael Jordan 2021 Kevin Durant 2018 LeBron James 2020 Anthony Davis

Isn’t he confirmed playing injured? Also hey I would’ve killed for 33 completions today (ignore the interceptions)
-
he could have used more live throws in game last season. florida got the dog shit pounded out of them and he had 6 attempts. team opened the 2nd half up 3 scores against clemson and that was an opportunity to see some real snaps.

They will feast against another NAIA school then will have a competent FCS opponent in SE Louisiana coming off of a beatdown by LSU. Good to get some confidence up by scheduling winnable games.

atleast he's not DJ Lagway
