Spoiler

A Corunna Extra, read all about it:

CORUNNA, MI—A Morrice-area man has been formally charged with murder and mutilation in the death of 25-year-old Kevin Bacon.

Mark Latunski, 50, was arraigned in 66th District Court Monday, Dec. 30 on one count of open murder and one count of mutilation of a human body. He faces up to life in prison if found guilty.

Latunski did not appear in the courtroom. Instead, Latunksi was arraigned via video from an undisclosed room. He appeared on a screen with a full beard, his hands cuffed behind his back. When asked if his name was Mark Latunski, he said that was not his name, that his name was “Edgar Thomas Hill" and that Mark Latunksi was his nephew.

District Court Judge Ward L. Clarkson glossed over the response, instead reading the complaint stating Latunski was accused of murdering Kevin Bacon on or about Dec. 24 and mutilated or defaced his body.

Latunski was then appointed a public defender.

A preliminary examination was set for Jan. 8, 2020 at 8:15 a.m. and a pretrial on Jan. 14, 2020 at 2 p.m.

Latunski will be held pending trial with no bond after a request was made by prosecutors, Clarkson ruled.

Police were led to Latunski’s Shiawassee County home after Facebook posts were relayed to the Clayton Township Police Department, according to Kevin Bacon’s dad, Karl Bacon.

Michelle Myers previously told The Flint Journal-MLive that Kevin Bacon, her friend and roommate, told her he was meeting with a man he met on a dating app around 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

Then at 6:12 p.m., Kevin Bacon texted Myers he was going to be out for a while, and he wasn’t sure when he’d be back, but that he was having fun, Myers said. His family became concerned when he didn’t show up for breakfast on Christmas Day and called police later that day. Kevin Bacon’s car was later found in a Swartz Creek-area parking lot. A bag of clothes, phone and wallet were in the car. The only thing missing were the car keys. Family and friends began searching for Kevin Bacon on Dec. 27. Karl Bacon shared all that information with the media during the search for his son.

They met on a dating app. They didn't directly know each other, but Bacon had shared his profile not only with friends, but also with friends of friends, and then their friends, etc. So he was able to connect to Bacon by going through a chain of acquaintences. Scary stuff.

So there were several degrees of separation.

This is doubly weird because Kevin Bacon at age 25 starred in a movie called “The Demon Murder Case” and it parallels some of this case.
But Bacon makes a miraculous comeback at age 26 in “Footloose”

Such a loss.

Should they maybe cut the psychology department at Flint and put those resources into Environmental Studies or Civil Engineering or whatever program it is that studies potable water?
