  1. All I heard was "Laurel".
  2. Laurel, the whole Laurel and nothing but the Laurel.
  3. Flatulence and diarrhea don't know from race!
  4. I suspect the small serving sizes in Thailand may be attributable to the near 100% incidence of lactose intolerance in East Asian adult populations. Jus' sayin'.
  5. Oso Blanco delivers yet again. Now what do we do about Jake?
  6. So they find out they're just a tiny cog in the techno-military industrial complex and their little brains explode. They thought they were making a difference. Red pill. Blue pill. All same same. 😉
  7. Anyone else noticed this? The first one I saw was for Wells Fargo. Those started about two weeks ago. "We've been around a long time, earned your trust, then lost it, but we're gonna do better..." The Facebook started maybe a week ago. "Back to what we're all about, connecting people, ..." Then just now on the Astros game, Uber. Is this a new trend?
  8. Charlie with 2Ks/Inning? Not bad at all.
  9. Great pics of great food. Stop biting your nails.
  10. That's a nice looking Chicago style dog. Props. I'd eat that. This, however, is Texas. Chili, Cheese, Raw Onions and Chopped Jalapenos. If you're so inclined, it is acceptable to hide a little mustard under the chili. Grab some extra napkins.
  11. We laugh at 'em, but my aggy vet is outstanding. She did a pretty serious operation on my dog about six years ago and she was back to normal within a couple of days. Thanks Dr. Jordan!
  12. What part of town are you staying in? There's a restaurant called de Waag in an old city gate turned weigh station turned offices etc. at the Neiuwmarkt. Rembrandt used to hang there. Nice dinners, good fairly cheap lunches. Cool building. The Neiuwmarkt has a weekly market day. I don't remember WHAT day, but coordinate it if you can. Lots of touristy crap but lots of everyday stuff also. There's more of a local's market in the Jordaan on a different day. It's a little farther out but worth it if you're into those sorts of things. (I def am.) Ask around for a good Indonesian restaurant and have the Rijsttafel. It will be memorable. You'll do a lot of walking - watch out for the damned trains! Especially if you rent bikes. The Rijksmuseum and the van Gogh Museum are almost next to each other but too much for a pregnant wife to do both in one day. Probably. I'll bet she'll like the Flower Market. Artis is the city zoo. Very old world style. Edam is nearby and very quaint. Haarlem is a little farther but has a great old downtown area. Beer's good. There's a cool little bar behind the Nieuwkirk just off Dam Square across from the very ornate Postal Station called CornerBar. Has some outdoor seating but we had some great evenings at the bar inside. Almost everyone speaks English. I'm jealous.
  13. Great Charcoal Chicken - Counter service at lunch but damn that stuff was good. Mine? "Jalapeno Quarter White, Beans, Fries and Tea" I'd give up a year of my life for one last plate. (Don't worry, it's not likely to be a very "good" year.)
  14. Yeah, that's pretty much a pisspoor take. Tootsie's been honing her craft since the late 60's. She only cooks once a week cause that's the way she wants it. Best you just sleep it off next time.
  15. Thanks for the new wallpaper.
  16. Those are good ones. Danny moved to Bissonnet after his Richmond shop. Before the Richmond store he had the Ten Fathoms downtown. My folks were friends but decided that when he moved to Bissonnet he tried to "healthy" it up too much and it lost a flavor or two.
  17. Tejas, Alief Rusty Pelican, Westheimer/Wilcrest Danny Wong's Kitchen, Richmond Ave, (Right next to the Pink Pussycat!) Mata Hari Indonesian, Carillon Center Boston Sea Party, Westheimer Mama's Cafe, Westheimer I'm sure I'll think of some more. Yours?
