  1. ConVINCed, I would check out this boat immediately, and see if you couldn't maybe pick up the slip: https://www.yachtworld.com/boats/2002/grady-white-330-express-3710962/ CHIEF
  2. Those are great boats. Reasonable in calm seas. CHIEF
  3. Yeah, but she calls it her "Voka and Dite", but I know what it really is. She makes a mean one. Her friend Kelly would be holding her lit cigerettes tween her toes. Hollerin', 'damn, this motherfucker is fast enough to blow my titties all the way over my shoulders." She is purdy big busted. CHIEF
  4. Mrs. CHIEF would have told me to slow the fuck down, would be sucking the Manhattan out've her glass. CHIEF
  5. A shitload more pot, maybe like a QP or somethin'. Four ounces would probably get me through nucalur war or somethin'. Wait a minute...are you cool? CHIEF
  6. Meant to quote this with the above statement. But, yes, a big fast tri-toon is a bad bitch, and worth looking at. CHIEF
  7. My cousin has a "boat show" on Granbury several times per summer. He always calls us to meet up. I remember running up the lake looking for him. About 2 miles up from our beach, I see him coming around the corner, and say "there he is". Mrs. CHIEF throws the bullshit flag, "how do you know it's him?" Well, how many tri-toons do you know of, that shoot a 40 ft. rooster tail . It was a 26 foot Manitou with a 300 hp Yamaha, carbonfiber everything with a fucking diving board, that topped out at 68 mph. The center pontoon was like 10 inches larger in diameter than the "outriggers", the drag was minimal. A $112k pontoon boat. Held 15 comfortably, you could ski, drink, hang out,... just a dream. That's definitely his shop in Hurst. CHIEF
  8. Yeah, which one of you sumbitches is this: You can tell me in a DM. You're goofy, but got a sweet setup. Used to be the setup that I showed my friends that I wanted. I think it is a Knight suppressed barrel, built onto the 77/44. 77/44 already out of production at the time of the video. CHIEF
  9. I am beat. My friend Chris, that I get my oysters and crawfish from, came home to a flooded yard, and water coming out from around exterior doors. Two story house built in the late 80's. He put the word out on NextDoor, and so many showed up, we had to start turning them away. Really restored my faith in my community. I sucked out at least 100 gallons of water, and there were eight other shop vacs going as well. We tore the ceilings out, cleaned everything up, filled the garage with furniture, and put wooden blocks under the remaining furniture to dry it out. People dropped off so many groceries, and complete meals, that others were taking whole meals home. Another friend was in town, I asked him if he had a transfer pump, he didn't but bought two, brought them over, and started pumping out the yard into the drainage ditch. Several of those helping, are still without power at their own homes. We went to other houses, and they had all already been taken care of. CHIEF
  10. Not sure that boat exists. CHIEF
  11. Yeah, my cousin is the Sales Manager for Fun n' Sun in the DFW area. The market consists of bass boats, high-end ski boats, and 65 mph Pontoon boats, he says that's all the sell. Fast, high-end pontoons have taken over the runabout market. Hell, my old beater pontoon (tritoon with lifting strakes) will run 42 mph, and is underpowered with a 150 Yammy (But it was free). CHIEF
  12. I'm fairly limited in my knowledge, but the one's I know most people hold in pretty high esteem in the size you are looking at are Bertram, Grady White, Yellowfin, Boston Whaler, etc.. This is G650, and JustHookIt's territory, they won't steer you wrong. CHIEF
  13. We used to hunt by camping out over our feeders, but the last 15 years (ended three years ago) we had big enough places, that we hunted more like Colorado hunting for Elk. We had big enough elevation changes that you could sit on hilltops and glass the whole time. We divided up in teams of two, and watch 400-2000 acres. You see a shooter, and would gamble cutting him off and getting a shot at him. We all took turns, if you shot a monster the year before, you would help someone else try for their's. This worked more often than not, and we shot some big bucks using this method. We increased our odds greatly. I guess we got spoiled. Because of lease prices, we are gonna have to go back to hunting feeders and food plots again, and managing the lease by passing up bucks and hope they don't get shot by someone else. It was fun while it lasted. It was a great luxury. CHIEF
  14. It would probably be easier to make recommendations based on your intended use. Are you still wanting something for using in Charleston? A saltwater rig? CHIEF
  15. I have locking Diff, DAC, and ATC, just forgot which range you had to be in. Billy Goat is doing fine though. Apparently we are the "Uber" flavor of the day among family members and delivering Option and Escrow checks. CHIEF
  16. Are you talking about DAC (Downhill Assist Control)? I think you have to be in 4L for it to work. Not familiar with TRAC, but I haven't driven our 4Runner regularly for 3-4 years. CHIEF
  17. Our last "big" place, was in Stonewall County. We paid $6/acre, and sold off the quail rights for $2/acre. There were six of us on about 3,300 acres. it was a one buck county, and there were usually about zero to two 160 class bucks shot per year. Dependent on the rainfall. We realized we weren't probably going to shoot a good buck on a year with minimal rainfall, but we paid and hunted anyway. You know what? I know more people that own lodges, do a three day, high fenced, "canned" hunt with a guaranteed 160 class buck for $5k then I can count. But I don't want to do it that way. I don't want to have a buck on the wall that has a hole in his ear from an ear tag. We have come to realize we don't need that much land, if there has been some game management before us. The problem is, you don't know what constitutes a big big buck for the former hunters. You may have to pass up bucks for a couple of years until you grow them to the size you want. It's just very frustrating. We have champagne taste on a microbrew budget. Just have to drive further and further. CHIEF
  18. I didn't really want to say it, because people should buy what suits them. But Chapparals are kinda the Kia of boats. They are a good value, but the depreciation is killer, because of customer service, reputation, and build quality. Rinker (Stinker), Bayliner, Hurricane, and all of the Bass Pro boats, Tracker, Bass Tracker, etc., have shit for resale value. Del Magic is one, in my area, that suffers the same fate. Chapparels have a really shitty hull design, they really aren't good at anything. CHIEF
  19. BY, lessors like you are extremely rare. Most are in it for the almighty dollar, in the areas I hunt. They view it as a business, and I view it as a relationship. You need my skid steer for three months, fine, it's yours. Your cows can graze the oat patches, we will put in water troughs. It's all good. Somehow, that just isn't enough. They take what they can get, then do there damnedest to run you off. Our last lease was 600 acres, the owners unloaded a thousand head of steers on it, about Thanksgiving. That was never brought up. My buddy we got the lease from didn't even know about it, and I believe him. They "decided" that year would be the first year for that "arrangement". I am so jade. It sucks, I approach any lease as being in an adversarial position. I'm very reluctant to offer anything or communicate effectively, because it has bitten me in the ass any time I have tried going above and beyond. No good deed goes unpunished. CHIEF
  20. If your house was built after about 2004, when copper was scarce, your water lines are probably made out of Pex (they are plastic). They will not bust, but a freeze does weaken them, your spigots may also be frost free. Thankfully, this is how mine was built. CHIEF
  21. We are back on power after 36 hours. Been delivering hot meals and checking on houses all day. Came on about 2, so 9 hours. We are blessed, just off the main line and we are still up, running only essential items, no lights, no TV. There are assholes on my block running every outside light, inside light, running the dishwasher, and doing laundry. Fuck those motherfuckers. Would love to turn them off at the meter and put a lock on that bitch. I'm willing to go back off-line for a couple of hours if someone else gets to come back on-line, selfish motherfuckers. CHIEF
  22. To be honest, I think it was to get a rise out of people, they were new. No one batted an eye. You could tell, they were looking around itching for a confrontation. There are quite a few gay members in this congregation. There was a country dance in the auditorium just the night before. Being a bedroom community to DFW we have a pretty diverse crowd for Granbury. Nearly all of the POC go to church there. It is non-denominational, but the pastors were raised in Southern Baptist Church. This church has the cream of the crop of our society as members, and also the dregs, that you can see sitting there Jonesing to get home and get their next fix. They are all looked at as God’s children. But at least they’re trying, and I’m glad to see them there. Troph, you are probably my favorite poster on this board. You would be so much fun to hang out with. I just want you to be happy, which you obviously are. But I definitely understand your reasoning and agree wholeheartedly with your view on many fundamental churches. But there are a fair amount of churches that would welcome you with open arms and in places that you wouldn’t think about. We happen to have one here, and the congregation is all in agreement. CHIEF
  23. I don’t go to a Cowboy Church. The church I go to, when I go, has several gay couples. I’ve had two women kiss passionately two rows in front of me, it wasn’t even a deal, much less a big deal. I have a gay cousin, that I knew was gay as a child. I love him very much, and have reached out to him on Facebook. I haven’t seen him in 40 years, except when his grandmother died. One of the main tenets of Christianity Is that love is unconditional. I always strive to be sure that those in my Christian circle remember that. CHIEF
  24. We have been without power for 36 hours or so. We took my mom to her younger brothers house, he lives about 15 miles away and has power. We have a gas cooktop and so far we have been able to maintain 50 degrees in the main part of the house. Moms house is about three minutes away, we chose to hold down the fort and let her know when powers back on. They’re talking about maybe tomorrow which will be 72 hours. But with a new storm coming in I’m not really counting on it.
