  1. It’ll ask if you want metric or Amerkan/Royal.
  2. I'm honestly surprised that terrorist organizations haven't tried something on a large-scale involving pandemic-type stuff. I mean, there's been a few attacks here and there on a small scale over the decades (I can't remember the last one, but maybe the subway thing in Tokyo or whatever?), and a whole shitload of movies and TV shows that centered around terrorists dropping some contagious shit into countries. But we have cabinet-level people who are pushing the government to A) stop letting the people know when shit is going down and B) distrust vaccines (and actively work against them). Seems like a ready-made disaster for terrorists to exploit.
  3. His kids did an interview about why they created it Dale Earnhardt Jr says new docuseries about family shows the good and bad
  4. I've not watched it yet, but I've never really seen his family (minus Theresa) shy away from discussing his parenting...uhh...skills. Or lack thereof.
  5. BUT IT'S NOT GETTING COVERED BY THE MAIN STREAM MEDIA YOU SHEEPLE! And my favorite is when one of my boomer relatives who watches Fox News all day sends me a FoxNews.com article complaining about stuff not being covered by the MSM, and the byline on the article is from Reuters.
  6. Nobody posted a thread when an anti-having kids nutjob detonated a fucking car bomb next to an IVF clinic in California. Not everything gets a thread.
  7. If that happens...
  8. Don’t have a link unit it knight have been posted already, but from the new Atlantic story: “Fuck you! Fuck you! Fuck you!” Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent was shouting at Elon Musk in the halls of the West Wing last month, loud enough for Donald Trump to hear and in a language that he could certainly understand. Bessent and Musk were fighting over which of them should choose the next IRS leader—and, implicitly, over Musk’s bureaucracy-be-damned crusade. Without securing the Treasury chief’s sign-off, Musk had pushed through his own pick for the job. Bessent was, quite obviously, not having it. The fight had started outside the Oval Office; it continued past the Roosevelt Room and toward the chief of staff’s office, and then barreled around the corner to the national security adviser’s warren. Musk accused Bessent of having run two failed hedge funds. “I can’t hear you,” he told Bessent as they argued, their faces just inches apart. “Say it louder.”
  9. George Coulam, founder of the Texas Renaissance Festival, has reportedly been found dead at his home. Law enforcement officials said the Todd Mission Police Department (TMPD) responded to Coulam’s home on Wednesday, May 21, where the 87-year-old Ren Fair founder was found and pronounced dead, according to The Houston Chronicle. Coulam’s body was found around 9 a.m. local time, CBS affiliate KHOU and NBC affiliate KPRC-TV reported. The Texas Renaissance Festival confirmed Coulam’s death in a post on its Facebook page. “We are deeply saddened by the loss of George Coulam, founder of the Texas Renaissance Festival,” the post read. “For more than 50 years, he built a community that has become a cherished tradition for generations of performers, staff, and guests.” “At this time, we ask for respect and privacy for Mr. Coulam’s family and the extended Texas Renaissance Festival family as they grieve,” it continued. Known to many as “King George,” Coulam founded the Ren Fest in 1974, according to KHOU and KPRC-TV. Earlier this month, a Grimes County judge ordered the festival be sold following a lawsuit, KHOU reported.

  11. I agree with this. He's sampled his own supply and appears to believe the bullshit he spouts, even if those around him don't. I think on some level he believes his future/survivability is tied to the outcome of this war. He's done an extremely good job of purging people who could oppose him, and he's threaded the needle on not drafting too many out of St Pete's and Moscow and a few of the other larger cities, but all of that has its limits. All he has to do is draft a few too many out of the larger cities, get some riots going, and some billionaires will knock him off with the help of Russian troops or private security forces that A) want some money and B) don't want to die in Ukraine. If/when Ukraine really starts slinging their beefy/long-range missiles and increases the tempo of those long-range drones they've trotted out every now and then, Putin will have to come up with something more than mostly ineffective drone attacks in response. If we started seeing regular attacks on Moscow and St. Petersburg, well, first all available theater-wide air defenses will be moved back from the front/Ukraine which could change a lot of things. Second, Putin will have to come up with something substantial. These drone and missile attacks suck for Ukraine, but they aren't killing too many people for the amount launched, and if he truly had something better in decent quantities, it would have already been used (probably the moment Ukraine started seizing ground in Kursk) if not against civilian targets, then to hit strategic military targets.
  12. If North Korea attacked South Korea tomorrow, or in the next 3 years, there will be zero US special operations troops engaging them. Or even regular US troops engaging them. I do agree that Lil Kim wants a lot of these troops back though since they do have some experience under fire now (although I have a feeling he's sent plenty of undesirables to be killed).
  13. We need Men of the People to defend us against elite institutions, men like Ted Cruz and George W. Bush who attended...*checks notes* well, never mind.
  14. No, it's moved onto the Holocaust and...just how many Jews really died in WWII...
  15. I've heard they started last week, but lots of rumors Elon Musk confirms Tesla plan for robotaxis on Austin roads in June Tesla CEO Elon Musk said robotaxis will be on the streets of Austin, Texas, by the end of June. Musk spoke in an interview with CNBC's David Faber. Musk also said he was committed to leading the automaker for the next five years. Tesla CEO Elon Musk confirmed that the company will have robotaxis on the streets of Austin, Texas, by the end of June. In an interview with CNBC's David Faber on Tuesday at the company's headquarters in Austin, Musk said Tesla aims to bring its robotaxis to Los Angeles and San Francisco following the planned Austin debut. Musk said a Tesla robotaxi service will start with about 10 vehicles in Austin, and rapidly expand to thousands of vehicles should the launch go well with no incidents. Since 2016, Musk has been promising Tesla investors, customers and fans that the company is about a year away from delivering a self-driving car that's capable of transporting passengers safely without human interventions, or a human at the steering wheel. However, Tesla does not yet offer a vehicle safe to use without human supervision. "It's prudent for us to start with a small number, confirm that things are going well and then scale it up," Musk said. To start, Tesla has said its robotaxis will be Model Y vehicles equipped with a forthcoming version of FSD, or full self-driving, known as FSD Unsupervised. Musk said Tesla "will geofence" its robotaxis in Austin to start, meaning the company will limit where those Model Y vehicles can drive. But there won't be a human safety driver in the cars, Musk promised. Tesla employees will be remotely monitoring the fleet, he said. "We'll be watching what the cars are doing very carefully and as confidence grows, less of that will be needed," Musk said. Musk has previously claimed Tesla's "generalized" approach to robotaxis is more ambitious than Waymo's. Tesla relies on camera-based systems and computer vision primarily instead of using sophisticated sensors including lidar and radar in its vehicles. Musk has said those sensors were expensive and could impede high-volume robotaxi production and scaling of a global fleet. "What will actually work best for the road system is artificial intelligence, digital neural nets and cameras," Musk said Tuesday. From last week: US agency sends Tesla questions about Austin robotaxi plan According to the NHTSA’s letter sent on May 8, the agency requested certain information from Tesla regarding its development of driving automation technologies. “As you are aware, NHTSA has an ongoing defect investigation (PE24031) into FSD collisions in reduced roadway visibility conditions,” the letter read.
  16. Kyle/Hays County, come on down! Hays County: Kyle resident who tested positive for measles 'considered unvaccinated' A Kyle resident who tested positive for measles was “considered unvaccinated,” after they could not provide proof of receiving a measles vaccine, Hays County officials said during a news conference Tuesday. According to the Hays County Health Department (HCHD) this is the first case of measles confirmed in the county this year. The news conference was held at 3 p.m. in San Marcos at the Hays County Government Center, according to the county. The conference was joined by HCHD Executive Director Matthew Gonzales and Epidemiologist Gabriella Guel. HCHD was notified by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) of a potential measles case on Friday, May 16 after it was presented at Ascension Seton Hays in Kyle. As of Friday, May 16, more than 1,000 cases of measles were confirmed across the U.S., which is an increase of 23 in a week. Texas still accounts for a majority of cases, according to The Associated Press. Measles is caused by a highly contagious virus that’s airborne, and it spreads quickly when an infected person breathes, sneezes or coughs, according to the AP. Gonzales said those who may have been at the Ascension Seton Hays from 12:50 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on May 16 should monitor themselves for potential signs of measles symptoms. Gonzales said the patient had developed a rash on Thursday, May 15. Individuals are contagious four days prior to developing a rash and four days after the rash is presented. ---- The list below shows the locations the individual visited while they were considered not infectious (prior to May 11). May 10 – Sephora inside of Kohl’s, 20185 Marketplace Ave, Kyle, Texas 78640 May 10 – H-E-B Plus, 5401 Farm to Market 1626, Kyle Texas 78640 Below listed are the locations the individual visited during the time of infection. May 13 – CommuniCare Kyle Clinic, 2810 Dacy Lane, Kyle, Texas 78640 May 13 – Texas Department of Public Safety, 1400 N IH-35, San Marcos, Texas 78666 May 16 – Ascension Seton Hays, 6001 Kyle Parkway, Kyle, Texas 78640 Those who may have been at these locations should monitor themselves for illness with fever and/or develop a rash from four days to 21 days after their exposure, said a press release from Hays County. Gonzales said those who are most at risk are those who have no prior immunity, such as those who were born before 1950, have no proof of vaccination, have had measles, are pregnant or are too young to receive the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine.
  17. For a second, I thought the guy who died was the guy who played Major Derlin in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.
