  1. Everyone I’ve looked at is on Steelers, Panthers, and Washington. Think I need to bet the other side.
  2. I don’t have the hard guidance yet, but my understanding is that there are OSHA regulations that have already been through court that this will roll out under. Those regs have applied to employers with more than 100 employees. That is also why there is a testing alternative rather than a vaccine mandate.
  3. 1. It will be up to the DOL. My preliminary understanding is that it will be 100 total due to the regulations they are rolling it out under. Our HR attorney is just giving us general thoughts as of now 2. We operate in southern states where this is way too political. Several large employees have gone to mandatory vaccinations/testing and it has created a lot of turnover already. There are still 1000 questions that need to be answered, but we’re already seeing kick back from some employees. A lot will depend on whether work from home is excluded as we can go remote with at least a portion of our workforce. I’m not in an industry where I can train someone to flip burgers tomorrow and be back up and going which makes this challenging. Again, I have zero issue with the concept, I have an issue with the hard cutoff on employee numbers. I understand why it’s been done this way and the regulations they are trying to get it under, but it creates a problem for those it applies to while others get to use it as a selling point. There are 45k or so accounting firms in the country, there are less than roughly 300 that employee 100+ people. This whole thing is out of control at this point and something needs to be done to reel in infection rates especially in the states we operate in, but I would prefer a wholesale across the board approach.
  4. Get the shot, quit being a dumbass. Then we’re not in this situation.
  5. You remain a fucking idiot with no clue and absolutely zero reading comprehension. It’s not the workers rights that I have a problem with, it’s how to effectively administer this with multiple locations in multiple states full of people that think the government is the boogey man. I’m also one of the only ones in our locations that exceeds 100 people with very marketable skill sets, so those employees that don’t want to get vaccinated or tested can easily move on which creates a significant problem for us. The 100 employee cutoff creates a real divide line that puts my company at risk in the locations we operate in. I’ve already received several emails regarding employees threatening to quit if we follow the policy (which doesn’t even exist at this point) and again they can have a job tomorrow at a company that falls under the cutoff. So just to make it clear for your dumbass, these situations of selective enforcement create significant real world problems that some people on this board have to deal with. I have no problem with a vaccine mandate, required testing, whatever to get this shit under control, but when my company has to address it differently than the firm across the street it is going to cause me real world problems that suck.
  6. This shit is going to be no fun. Being an employer with over 100 employees (who happen to all have easily marketable skill sets) in a state that is full of people that lean a certain way politically is going to make whatever the DOL rolls out a whole bunch of fun for us. We already have employees getting stirred up tonight with zero idea what the DOL is actually going to roll out. They just know what their Facebook friends are telling them and they are already off in left field. Being a large employer in the current environment is about to the point of just plain sucking. The answer is so simple, yet people continue to ignore it.
  7. Out of reach is relative, where there is a will there is a way.
  8. I use a double uni on all my setups now. I kept having a problem with the FG slipping because I would overlay one of the twists or not get it cinched tight enough. The double uni takes me 30 seconds and it’s done. I don’t know about others, but I also retie at some point during the day if I’m fishing for a long period.
  9. That’s super quick. From digging to water was a long ass time for us. That’s going to be a pretty sweet setup.
  10. Another very watchable 30 minutes of television. I think I will probably tire of it half way through a second season, but I’m still going to watch just because it’s so different while more culturally relevant than almost all of the other bullshit on TV.
  11. Holy hell, some of you are just a bunch of shit asses. No one cares whether you think it’s great, not great, was great, never was great, etc. and you sure don’t need to type the same exact thing after each and every episode. Quit evaluating S1 versus S2 week after week. If it’s not a good show, stop watching. If you’re still intrigued, talk about what’s going on and where it’s going. This thread just needs Roy GIF’s with his elongated “fucks” at this point as that is basically the only response to these constant season versus season debates. This was NEVER going to live up to S1, it was the right show at the right time with the right characters. Nate - this turn was easily seen, he got beat up by the players, his dad doesn’t respect him, so once he gets a little notoriety/power it goes to his head. It was cringeworthy this week though as it crossed the line and just wasn’t funny. Ted - hits bottom last week, psych is going to help him resolve his issues, team wins, he goes back home at some point. Rebecca - they have made her too cheery, the brooding version was entertaining. Not sure where they are going with her, what really happens when she figures out it is Sam she is texting? Ted made more sense.
  12. Long thread on it from the original boat “accident”. It’s been an interesting read and at this point any theory is plausible. https://www.thehulltruth.com/carolinas/990144-beaufort-sc-boat-accident-50.html
  13. Farmer’ markets usually always have pickling cucumbers. We make batches of the refrigerator pickles. I think the cucumbers hold their texture better that way than true pickling.
  14. Same issue here, none at Kroger in a while. My wife started going to Walmart just to buy Claussen sandwich slices because they always seem to have them. She goes in and buys 3-4 jars and that’s all she gets.
  15. I think I should have accepted the fact that my kids schedules and the lake just don’t much work any more. My nephews kept it going the last couple of years, but 3 months and 15 hours on the boat is ridiculous. Think I may start looking for the bay boat I wanted and flip this thing at some point next year or just keep it for the limited times they want to get out.
  16. Just opened in Memphis, drove by it and was trying to place the name and then remembered this thread title. Based on the article above, sounds like better days may be behind them but I’ll stop in.
  17. Next step of the backyard is finally getting moving, 18x36 covered area with a fireplace on one end, kitchen on the other, and hip wall along the back. It’s a great time to be building, but we’re getting a little bit of a price break building a new master suite addition at the same time. Irma definitely going to be bigger than we need, but we had the space so decided to just go ahead with it.
  18. We’re about 15 hours from our place. Right after we bought it, we did a complete major exterior renovation/addition. It went fine, but we talked with our realtor about recommended contractors and then interviewed them and checked references. We were able to do most selections while there and did the others by email. I flew down about once a month to check on things and take care of any issues. The contractor sent pictures weekly and we set up an account locally he could draw his payments off of after I contacted the bank. The realtor also checked in a few times for us as well. All in all it went pretty smoothly, but I’m definitely glad we put in the front end work on finding the contractor. It helped it was a major project, we have had a harder time getting smaller things done consistently. The other thing we did was used the realtor to find a home watch person and landscaper. They have been a huge help. They check on things each week, send us pictures of any issues, and also schedule repairs if needed.
  19. A lot depends on the sports they play and how much travel ball they do or don’t play. Our kids were not involved in sports that impacted summers which made it great for us. We have a lake house that was used every weekend from the time our kids were born up until our oldest was 12 or 13. Then she got to the point she wanted to start going with others, staying home for friend get togethers, or school functions interfered. We bought a beach house a long way off around that time and now we pack them (16/13) up for the summers and take them down there. It gets them away from their friends for a period of time and forces them to do things together without being able to get out of it. We still go to the lake, but it’s gotten to the point that I’m probably going to let it go at some point soon. I put 12 hours on my boat this year although we will go the next few weekends before it cools off too much more. As they move on to college, I would prefer to sell the house we live in and I’ll just build a new house at the lake and commute, but that idea has gone nowhere.
  20. In TN where we are, there are none to be found. A few boxes of 4 shot and that is it. Gun guy at Academy said they haven’t kept any on the shelf longer than an hour or so for the last month or two. Found a buddy with some, going to have to look around next week to get ready for the next one.
  21. I’m going to have to start hoarding shotgun shells apparently. Have a skeet shoot tomorrow and another one in a couple of weeks and there are no shells to be found around me. Academy got a pallet this morning and they were gone in 20 minutes. Gander is apparently getting out of guns at least locally and they had a new Silver Pigeon at a good price. Think I may have to pick that up before it sells.
  22. He did say that he was taking the summer off and would be back on at some point after school started back when he started researching again. His wife may have killed him for not selling though. Just for the record I’ve lost my ass since entering Hank’s discord group, everything is about timing and clearly my timing is to be the perpetual bag holder.
  23. I’ve always had an interest in watches and kept up with the markets and everything around them. I just never could justify spending money on something I wore which is pretty apparent with my sparse wardrobe. Boats, cars, guns, etc had more use to me if I wanted to buy something I really didn’t need. After working on designing a new master closet that includes significant space for my wife’s purses/shoes/jewelry/etc, I decided that was dumb and if I wanted one to just get it.
  24. She bought a Datejust, she had been looking for a specific dial color but didn’t want to order it.
