    Vince arrested DWI

So he got his real estate license. Hope he makes a zillion bucks.
  9. So after a less than memorable dove hunt, I went out of my way to the Graham Golden Chick to fulfill my corndog fantasy. Drive through only, waited twenty three minutes, and got a combo with fries and tea for $7.95. Drove to the home place and dug in. Fries meh. Tea cold and wet. Corndog? As memorable as the Dove hunting. They didn't even give me any mustard. Think I'll just go to Sonic on dollar corn dog night and eat a bunch of those next time. PS-The ones at the State Fair are huge. Golden Chick's not so much.
  10. The good news Is he’ll be back in school Tuesday as full time sub at my wife’s school. I’m sure he will be a fixture at the local squad’s practice. We have several college bound kids, including a four star with an offer from Tom.
  11. If you like to fly fish, and dream about traveling the world, you've got until September 2 to drop eighteen bucks here and watch this year's virtual fly fishing film tour. https://flyfilmtour.com/buy-tickets/ Edited to add that this year's edition changed my life.
  12. "If the guy running at you is number 30 or higher, get off the field".
  13. Saw it today. He sucked.
  14. What a melon head. Dressing to emphasize his size 16 shoes.
  15. We were in the same Sunday School class a lifetime ago, and our boys played in a band together for a short while.
  16. https://www.kcbd.com/2020/08/27/red-raider-football-player-asks-fans-respect-they-join-protest/ Red Raider football players ask fans for respect as they join protest LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - Members of the Texas Tech Red Raider football team have announced some players are choosing not to play in order to join other sports teams around the country refusing to play as a protest against police brutality. Red Raider Defensive Back Cameron Watts posted a copy of a release to his social media on Thursday, saying: “Rather than pretend these problems don’t exist and maintain a practice schedule that does not take into consideration the mental health issues derived from seeing our fellow citizens beaten and murdered in the streets on a daily basis, we will instead use this time to discuss these issues amongst ourselves and decide how best to move forward in a manner that will allow us to effectuate change here in Lubbock as well as the cities we call home.” The statement does not detail how many members of the team will be taking part in this protest, but the statement was posted on the social media pages of several players. In the statement, players say they know a portion of Red Raider fans will not understand or support their decision, but they ask the public to respect their right to peacefully protest. “The very blood that fuels the heart we display every Saturday on the field also stimulates our minds to be the change we want to see in the world,” the statement reads. Texas Tech University administration have not yet released an official response, but head coach Matt Wells posted a statement to social media, saying the Texas Tech football program stands with the players in support. (edited to add that Sharon Maines is still a fine looking woman-she's got to be close to sixty)
  17. Somehow I think this could jump start her career. At least on late night cable.
  18. Has anybody here done the Boundary Waters Canoe Area? Been on my bucket list for sixty years, but time's running out. Fortunately, this Texas made the trip for me.
  19. We are building a fighting force of extraordinary magnitude.
  20. One more chance.
  21. That's pretty cool. Our old home place is about fifteen miles from there. Head south past all the wind chargers. When you run out of wind chargers and oil wells, that's our place.

  23. Jimmy Carter is a better man than I. And probably you.
