  1. All true except I don't think Steve is anywhere close to being a true alcoholic even though he has admitted to attending regular AA meetings. I think more of a pretty intense guy in a high stress job with drinking problem that was pretty bad at one time. True alkies are pretty unique and are greatly distinguished from binge drinkers, hard party types, daily drinkers, mean drunks, and people with drinking problems coupled with high stress/high profile jobs.
  2. He did have some stinkers. Near int on second drive. Bad decision and bad pass. Db should have picked that. Shades first int v. La Monroe. Great pass to Whirling Bijan, but could have been defended or picked if ou db had any sense. Int duck has been mentioned, but I heard that one slipped, so good decision, poor execution. I'll give him a pass on that one...and of course, that would have never happened had he hit wide open Jwitt on previous play. But that's it as far as egregious mistakes. A batted ball on a screen and a couple of throws to covered screens resulting Inc. or lost yardage and couple of missed downfield opportunities rounds it out in the slightly negative column. Pretty damn good coming off 4 weeks injury rest. Might see 1st quarter Alabama Ewers this week if trends hold. Once he gets a few more quarters under his belt, he will be unstoppable.
  3. I for one, would like to see what the "experts" think about some of Ewer's decisions on near pics etc. The near int in drive 2 was very similar looking to the Monroe pic.. kind if just looked like a bad pass behind JW, he was not very open either. The pass and awesome catch to BR was ill advised. Any situational awareness by db and that is broken up or picked. Those two come to mind, but there might be others. QE played a hell of a game, so I am not bagging on the guy, just wanted an x & o perspective or thoughts on how "dangerous" those passes were.
  4. The beatings will continue until morale improves.
  5. I think I am too shell shocked by the Tech loss still, to get too confident about an easy Texas win here. I could see a scenario where Texas allows the Cyclones to Tech their way down the field to some points and stymie the offense just enough to make it an interesting game, especially if we see a repeat of a cold offense in the 2nd half. Iowa St. is a couple of plays from being a one loss team against better Big 12 competition than Texas has faced. Then there is the Iowa State loss last year. Texas was able to put up points on everyone last year except Arkansas and Iowa St, so they know how to defend against a Sark offense. Texas has huge upgrades on offense since then and that game was one the road with Card at QB during the middle of our death spiral. I also anticipate some bad calls as well. I think Ewers, a healthy Worthy, and home field will be the difference, but I expect to be uneasy until the final gun sounds.
  6. Call 'em like I see them. Nothing against today's performance, just tough to gage real performance. Although, I have been watching football for 45 years, and Ewers looks legit.
  7. OU is horrible. Good day today, but felt like playing Rice. OU's talent us much better than what they showed, but coaching is not doing them any favors . They should have kicked 2 field goals early then at least tried on offense 2nd half. This is not comparable to early Mac lopsided losses . Those Texas teams were pretty good and ended up in the top 15.
  8. In at garage sale time, early, and OU still sucking.
  9. Hitting the fair a day early=eating dinner at 4:00? Is that how it works when you are old?
  10. From almost rural west Austin. fight......not quite up yet.
  11. You should catch the Nerd of the Rings YouTube channel episode recaps. About 20 minutes and really makes you appreciate the depth of this series plus catches you up on things.
  12. My oldest son used Barney as a gateway. Then he got on the hard stuff..Power Rangers. My dad was walking by one time when my oldest had Barney on and he saw babby bop and thought she was a tomato worm. Tomato worm=big green worm found eating tomato plants. One of the funniest things he ever said.
  13. Building a new home too. That's the kiss of death.
  14. Brent Venables: : "Don't let one loss beat you four times".

  16. ...don't forget the mix tape too.
  17. ...all that up there and .... LOWER YOUR STANDARDS. When I was younger I was constantly amazed by acquaintances working on a girl that was just way out of their league in every way. Don't get me wrong, its good to aim high and perhaps every once in awhile get away with something on rebound relationship or something, but when I say aim high I am talking about a couple of clicks above what you should get v. shooting for the moon. I imagine some of these guys would clean up pretty well, but are so emotionally compromised that it would make all women run for the hills. For the most part, mother nature works it out that you have successful relationships or hell, even dates with these guys, when you are with someone like you in all the categories (looks, skills, education, emotional maturity etc.) with some give and take for strength's and weaknesses. The concept is not that hard.
  18. Ft. Myers? More like Port Myers amiright?
  19. Or cook some bacon, such as your might find in a bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich.
  20. ...or is he?
  21. I think you mean Big Jim Slade, former TE of the Kansas City Chiefs.
  22. Big Jim Slade. He could be anywhere at the drop of a hat...no ball in hand, but no shoes either.
  23. My dad was born in Refugio, small world. Also, no serial killers on the list. I guess their more infamous than famous.
  24. The calories burned in 30 minutes of general cycling is somewhere between 250 and 300 cals. Perhaps Peleton had you a bit more dialed in with their specific work outs. I would guess that Peleton had you on some all out sprints once or twice every 10 days or so and I could defiantly see some extra weight loss and testosterone jumps from that. ...and your consistency was also a big help. But 2 liter of DP has 900 calories, which is just an astounding amount of sugar and inflammatory fuel. I'm surprised that by just giving that up didn't make you grow a spare dick or something.
  25. Not a fan of going 5-7, but Sark's 5-7 team would beat the dog shit out of Mack's 5-7 2010 team. In watching how they played last year, I could tell that with just a few things going in the right direction that would have been a 7 or 8 win team and except for the Arky and Iowa St. games were also pretty fun to watch, and you can't say that about any of Mac's last few teams, any of Charlie's teams, and only one or two of Herman's teams. Also you don't have any of Mack's thin skinned laziness (at the end), Charlie's gross incompetence, or Herman's bewildering game planning, douchiness, and debilitating personal issues. But more than anything, for the first time in a long time, I actually feel like we have a coach that actually knows what he doing.
