  1. Watched Fury over the weekend. Pretty solid. I'm a sucker for war movies/series War is hell.
  2. That would be a waste of time.
  3. I haven't watched 1 second of Ole Miss basketball, but looking at their schedule, they're about 15 points away from being a .500 team. 1 point win vs Detroit Mercy 3 point win vs Sam Houston 1 point win vs Temple 3 point win vs Memphis 2 point win vs UCF 3 point win vs aggy 4 point win vs MSU
  4. My alma mater made the playoffs at 3-8, Yay! It's dumb There needs to be a win minimum, like bowl eligibility.
  5. Weird they played Corpus and skipped Houston. For the 4th largest city in the country Houston gets skipped ....a lot.
  6. Started watching this on a whim...had no idea it was a prequel. Had no idea there even was a movie called Sexy Beast.
  7. These are growing on me. The texture/crunch was off at first, but I'm digging them. Basically a ranch-ish flavored Frito.
  8. My mother-in-law is somehow related to Parker or one of his wives, somewhere down the line. The book is great and I don't mind Sheridan, so I'll tune in.
  9. Jesus, what a clown. Luck ( completion % of 54.1 and 3x as many picks) was throwing to guys like Reggie Wayne and TY Hilton. He also threw the ball 600 times...100 more attempts than Stroud. Roethlisberger ( 1500 yards less passing and 2x as many picks) had Jerome Bettis, Hines Ward, Antwan Randle-El and Plaxico...not to mention one of, if not THE best defenses in the league.
  10. Amen Thompson getting a start 15 points/14 rebs/5 ast. Not bad. When healthy, they're actually a pretty solid team. I'm guessing we see Green weaned off minutes in favor of Whitmore/Thompson
  11. What was the crime? Re: American Nightmare.... Also, it blows we away at how inept some PD's are. You see it all the time on Dateline/20/20 type shows. It's usually some idiot detective saying "we only care about the truth" when that's not the case at all. I'm glad those folks sued the shit out of them and won. Good for them.
  12. This. I watched all of them with Vince Vaughn and Colin Farrell..this is more intriguing based on the first 2 episodes. The frozen dude gave me "sloth" from Se7en vibes.
  13. I'm still going back to the guy saying we got "dog walked" by Washington Much like the clap, TexAgs is the gift that keeps on giving..
  14. Understudys...now there's a shifty bunch. The substitute teachers of the theater world.
  15. Had some gumbo at a friends house on Monday. I'm not one to bag on another's cooking, especially as a host...but this was terrible. He's from Louisiana too. No veggies, no seasoning, no spice. Basically just a flavorless roux/broth with sausage. Is this a thing? Last time he made it, he served it with potato salad, which I know is a thing for certain areas of LA, but the gumbo itself was not good.
  16. Beautiful song about an absolutely horrifying subject. Cartel killing in Mexico told from the point of view of a woman/wife/mother that's about to be killed along with the rest of her family. Jerry Joseph is one of my favorite song writers that probably only a handful of y'all have heard of. He visually transports you to that villa that day. It's something else.
  17. Happy New Year, fuckers. Anyone know of any Account Managment roles in Houston?? Industry doesn't really matter. My latest contract role is expiring and am on the hunt for something more permanen/stable. Happy hunting to those on the lookout to start 2024!
  18. This thread seems as good a place as any for this. 🍻
  19. No, silly. Dad's name is Thornton. The "Bruce Springsteen" was a ruse to draw people out of the building so we had the run of the registration area.
  20. When I was registering in person in the 80's, my dad had actually gone back to school as well. He already had a successful career with a string of Big and Tall shops. Anyway, the day of registration, I'm waiting in line with my buddy Derek. Dad shows up and couldn't believe the lines, so he took matters into his own hands. He had his limo driver pose out front of the building with a sign that said Bruce Springsteen. Place cleared out quick....got into that Astronomy class!
  21. I don't think it is. He's won more than any coach in the history of college football. Has made enough $ for multiple lifetimes. He's 72.
  22. Friendly reminder to our fanbois and girls in NOLA. Cure that hangover with a frozen Irish coffee from Erin Rose. Establish a good base by gettin that burger and potato from Port of Call Its going to be tempting, but...
  23. One to come to mind for me is Beautifully Broken by Gov't Mule from the Deepest End show. Filmed down in NOLA as a tribute to Allen Woody..it was a parade of all star bass guests and the show started at like midnight and went til like 4-5 am..this was after a day of Jazzfest. It was fucking awesome. Anyway...here ya go. It's a great song and really builds to the solo at about 7:30 or so.
