  1. I checked recently on some out of the way pyramids and they were still prohibiting climbing.
  2. The new bus hub system for LASA sucks. You either live close by one of the new hubs or "too bad, good luck".
  3. That was a delightful 30 mins. Hoping it stays strong
  4. 100% agree. The combination of innocence, strong morals in some areas and remorseless killing is interesting. The basement scene was great.
  5. Sold our house in NW Austin and moved to a higher end condo community. Also love it. If you go the condo/apt route, make sure it has a strong and involved community. A place with an involved board and residents who care about the place. That also helps with the social gatherings and friendliness. Construction isn't that good, so you will likely have to deal with repairs the first year. For me, it's worth it. I'm happy everyday I don't have to fix another broken sprinkler head and someone else deals with the pool.
  6. Let's hope that Spielberg has a lot of friends
  7. The trailers for this movie have been horrible. The first set were "It's quirky! Leo makes a phone call and they hang up on him!" The next set were wall to wall action. They will need strong word of mouth to make any money.
  8. That was an interesting take by Khloe's parents. I wish the documentary had dug into it. I agree that it wouldn't seem to benefit them, but at the same time, all of the people in the documentary seem to be starved for attention and entertainment.
  9. I guess I'm still skeptical that we can assume it was a Facebook sanctioned download of data for AI vs. a bunch of Facebook employees. They have 30,000 to 50,000 employees in the timeframe of the downloads. Even when employees know their are being monitored, people still do dumb things. This feels like the legal equivalent of "Trust me bro"
  10. Is there any proof that Facebook used the porn to train the AI models? My interpretation is that the porn site only knows the IPs. It seems just as likely that employees were torrenting the porn for personal use.
  11. Oh dear lord.....that looks awesome
  12. Would like to see Nicolas Hoult as Lex Luthor in his own movie. He was great.
  13. A really good podcast about the "Nazi Block" in Berlin. Hitler wanted his future empire to include huge structures and also ensure their future structures left "beautiful ruins". https://99percentinvisible.org/episode/616-the-nazi-block/
  14. I'm not sure that's the case. On her website, this is about the closest thing I could find about reducing bail: I would not have interpreted that to mean she was going to violate the law to lower bail for defendants. https://www.tanisaforjudge.com/copy-of-home
  15. Where else can I take my parents in 1998?
  16. It's 2 hours of a family drama and 10 mins of zombie action. That's why it's become a love it or hate it movie. I think a lot of the "hate it" crowd forgets that 28 Days Later was 80 mins of human drama and 10 mins of zombie action.

    The Wire

Don't forget about Lieutenant Daniels! Had a solid career in the Bosch TV series and the John Wick movies.
  18. The buggy infotainment screen is my (small) gripe about the Mach-E. The infotainment system is like buying a Microsoft product in the 90's. You quickly realize you are beta testing it. The ride will be rougher than you expect for a nicer SUV.
  19. Ford and GM are benefiting from the "anything by Tesla" buyers now: https://electrek.co/2025/04/01/ford-mustang-mach-e-starts-2025-strong-was-it-a-top-selling-ev/
  20. Definitely not mental illness or drugs
  21. Not to me! (it was 2023).
  22. 1. Anora 2. The People's Joker 3. Zone of Interest 4. Hundreds of Beavers 5. Civil War 6. Challengers 7. Flow 8. In A Violent Nature Haven’t seen yet: MadS, Brutalist, Red Rooms, A Real Pain, Substance, Do Not Expect Too Much From the End of the World, Green Border, The Beast, La Chimera, Last Stop in Yuma County, My Old Ass Movies that looked mediocre and were mediocre: Blink Twice, Romulus, Heretic, Trap, Juror #2, Love Lies Bleeding, Drive Away Dolls
  23. I'd like to just restate that Common is a horrible actor. It's bad enough that it becomes a distraction. Who keeps on casting him? What dirt does he have on casting directors?

    Anora

Do you complain that all theaters show is superhero movies and dumb shit? Then go see Anora. It's complex, fun, emotional and wacky. Plus lots of nudity. Go see Anora if you want to see more movies like Anora in theaters.
