  1. I think the salad comment was purely out of brotherly concern for your physical health, far from vitriol.
  2. For whatever it's worth, Bo Davis accepted the DL job at USC after his first stint at Texas, only to take the same job at Alabama a week later. I want Bo to stay, but if this guy is on Sarkisian's radar, it don't mean shit that UCLA just promoted him.
  3. LSU's defense was such a shitshow this year that I don't see Brian Kelly giving the DC gig to someone who's never had that role before. He needs someone with some decent track record at DC if he wants to be a contender. So, I think it just comes down to money, which should favor Texas.
  4. Sarkisian really needs to make @TreatyOak head of social media marketing for the football program.
  5. This is the only remotely human aspect of Ted Cruz.
  6. Some folks just know after 2-5 in passing for the 2023 season and some footage from the Spring scrimmage.
  7. I recommend that you not take a look at Paul Allen's business card.
  8. And nice to have scoreboard over BYU following two shitty losses in 2013 and 2014.
  9. Watson, clearly yes. Beford, not so much, as our defense was pretty decent for his first year. But the Big XII wasn't great across the board that year, and that coaching staff turned out to be horrible recruiters, so the defense got shitty quickly after that.
  10. This can't be understated. It was great to win a conference title and make the playoffs, but the timing was fucking huge, for the team and recruits, but also for the delicious aggy tears, as we head into the SEC.
  11. Wait, Derka said something in the heat of the moment?!?!
  12. I'm sorry, but you have entirely too much faith in Shawn Watson, setting aside Coach Potato who likes to take defense to open both halves. In that hypothetical matchup, I see aggy pulling out a 13-8 win, 14-10 if at Kroger Field.
  13. Very well aware. I've spent a fair amount of time in Seattle and love that town. I have some family there (my dad's side of the family is from the PNW), and a cousin who works for the Seahawks.
  14. I'm fine with an open QB competition in the offseason, but have no reason to think that Arch Manning will beat out a very good QB who will be in his third year under Sark's system. But, it's entirely possible that, based on the past two seasons, Quinn will get injured at some point and sit out a game or two, in which case Arch will have the opportunity as the QB1 for some amount of time. If (a) Quinn and the offense is so-so going into that situation, and (b) Arch plays lights out, I can see Sark staying with Arch. Unless and until that happens, it's Quinn's job to lose, and I still think with him as our QB we have the potential for another great season in 2024.
  15. Can't speak for all of Surly Nation, but I'm rooting like hell for the Huskies against Michigan. And I've always generally liked the football team and the university (it's currently my daughter's top choice). But a football game, especially one with so much on the line, will always bring out the barbs, hopefully most are good-natured. Appreciate you and the rest of the Washington fans who joined in the pre-game discussion and endured some of Surly's finest.
  16. Bloochie has to be laying in bed crying this morning after his idol has publicly called him out and given him a Trump-esque demeaning nickname.
  17. I discovered this many years ago after a dry January in my early 40s. I was in decent shape with some good muscle tone after getting back into the gym. But I was far from cut, and after the Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Years cycle of heavy drinking, I had started to get soft in the middle. After a solid month of laying off the booze, the extra pounds disappeared and I had gotten chiseled to the point that my then-wife had taken notice and was impressed. We fight a declining metabolism when we get older, and throwing heavy alcohol consumption on top of that makes it exponentially worse, even if you have a healthy diet and good exercise routine. I notice it much more now at 49.
  18. He's going to be a baller in the league. Best of luck, X, and hook 'em!
