  1. A few years ago I binged Letterkenny, and I watched this scene fairly late one night after everyone else in the house had gone to bed. I laughed so hard my husband woke up from a dead sleep and came out to the living room because he couldn't tell if I was upset or laughing. I seriously couldn't breathe. Still one of the funniest fucking things I've ever seen.
  2. I've always thought Barry K was such a weird-looking motherfucker so it was strange seeing him as a sort of playboy. I didn't love the movie (seemed like it was trying to be The Talented Mr. Ripley), but the acting was great and I was especially impressed by Jacob Elordi. IMO he's the weak link in the main Euphoria cast, but I thought he was really good in this.
  3. I love Rachel Sennott and watched this just before seeing Bottoms in the theater. It might be the most awkward movie I've ever seen, and I've watched a lot of awkward shit. The horror movie music helps in that regard.
  4. My Man Godfrey. Pretty funny screwball comedy from the 30s, especially if you like William Powell and Carole Lombard. My parents love The Thin Man movies so I usually end up watching something with William Powell or Myrna Loy when I'm over for holidays.
  5. Upon a rewatch, I realized that Teddy from Brooklyn 99 is definitely an energy vampire.
  6. I didn't know that, but yeah, it totally makes sense.
  7. It was super great having marching practice out there when the heat index was 105 and you could just smell the carcinogens seeping into your pores. I don't think that one has blown up in a long time, unless you mean the TPC one on Rubber Plant Road that blew up the week of Thanksgiving a few years back. That boom woke me up.
  8. PNG will just re-hire Todd Dodge to find them a new coach. But honestly, when they get home I'm sure Joseph will find his home has been turned into a shrine by the 10 people who stayed in town.
  9. The text chain with all my relatives at the game has gone silent.
  10. Jeff Joseph is being more ballsy than usual in this game.
  11. PNG significantly outplayed SOC in the first half last year, and this year they look more evenly matched. It ain't over till it's over.
  12. The comment under the second post on this page has info on streaming the PNG-SOC game. You might be able to find other games there, too.
  13. This doesn't really surprise me. Friends is a much more traditional sitcom than Seinfeld. Seinfeld had no central romance to root for, and furthermore, the characters weren't really...likeable, if you think about it. To me, that was part of the appeal - they were terrible people in a lot of respects, but really fucking funny, and that made it different from anything else that was on TV at the time. I didn't really appreciate Seinfeld till I was out of college. I loved both shows, but they are very different.
  14. She's a main character in The Fall of the House of Usher on Netflix, fyi.
  15. No shit, right? Afterwards I thought, I need a palate cleanser to lighten the mood. Maybe something like Shoah, or, I don't know, Paths of Glory. Fucking Christ, that movie was dark.
  16. BONE! He will be missed. RIP.
  17. The one from 1984, about the nuclear apocalypse?
  18. We taped The Great Outdoors off of TV some time in the late 80s and watched it alllll the time - it's still one of my favorite movies. "Big bear! Big bear chase me!"
  19. I laughed out loud at parts of this, and was brought to tears at others. Da'Vine Joy Randolph was one of my favorite parts of Only Murders, and I hope she gets all the awards for her role as Mary Lamb here. Dominic Sessa was also fantastic. I hope to see much more of him in the future.
  20. Super low-budget indie horror, free on Tubi. A wonderful depiction of grief and loneliness and vengeance, and both main actors were fantastic.
