  1. Its the lack of athleticism that is so jarring to me. When you are used to seeing NBA caliber athletes racing up and down the court with 3X the ball handling capabilities (for the most part) and the game played above the rim, its impossible for me to pay attention to the slow plodding drafthorses in the WNBA. I turned on the all star game for about 5 minutes in the 3rd qtr last night and the only shots that were made were layups (and they missed a few of those). Every mid-range and three was bricked. Granted its an allstar game, and even the mens version sucks due to effort, but the WNBA is basically still a layup drill. I don't know if its still the case, but a few weeks ago I checked stats and like 15 of the top 50 scorers in the WNBA had a FG% under 40%. In the NBA last regular season, there were zero players in the top 50 shooting under 40%. The problem is far too many of them play a version of basketball that is unappealing.
  2. The other thing about Spieth is that I don't think he has that mental component that the greats have. He was red hot for a while and he's still pretty good, but he isnt driven like a Woods or Scheffler. And I get it, the dude is 31 years old and has already made $80M from the tour (not counting endorsements). I listen to his interviews, and he just doesn't seem to grasp reality. Its been 5 years of, "I feel like I'm right there," "I'm doing what needs to be done," etc... And the guy constantly makes mental fuckups on the course instead of playing smart like Scheffler. He's rich as fuck, and I doubt he ever changes his ways. He's got a damn good life.
  3. Bennett seems like a fucking unit, considering he's barely one years old. He might be taller than Brian Harmon by next year's Open championship.
  4. The only drama this year is whether Scottie can set the largest margin of victory since the 1800's Largest margins of victory at The Open: 13 strokes – Old Tom Morris, 1862 12 strokes – Young Tom Morris, 1870 11 strokes – Young Tom Morris, 1869 8 strokes – JH Taylor, 1900 and 1913 8 strokes – James Braid, 1908 8 strokes – Tiger Woods, 2000
  5. Or not. Kind of a letdown
  6. this round 5 should be a war.
  7. Lulz at the German broad with the last name minge. They go out of their way to enunciate Ming-uh, but they aren't fooling me.
  8. Gil had no idea how big a bat that guy was swinging
  9. Scottie is so dominant now, he's -685 to win this thing after the third round. In the prediction markets, you can take the field and get the equivalent of +525. thats f'n ridiculous.
  10. Plus they end up showing all of Scottie and Fitz's shots anyways. the only thing you really miss out on is the extra couple of hours of explicit discussion of how much better Scottie is than the rest of the field.
  11. Was anybody watching the group coverage of Scottie's group when there was a burst of rain that started up while they were teeing off on a hole, and Lowry shanked his drive into the rough? Lowry immediately started bitching about the rain and dropped about 4 F bombs in a row which were a lot more audible than smiley's gaff. I hope we didnt lose too many delicate souls.
  12. The evidence would suggest you have already considered it. Just not acted on it.
  13. its not new, but they just merged with a SPAC to go public. Their financials are something like $100M in rev/$5M in profits/growing~10% year, so low margin, low growth internet retailer. The only new development is hitching their wagon to the globally respected business mind that is Donnie jr.
  14. dude is on another f'n level today. Well most days.
  15. They have raised $380M in funding as a niche software company. I wont pretend to know anything about the "apache airflow" ecosystem, but that seems like an absurd amount of money for a company with 300-400 people and their likely coding requirements. So they will find ways to spend it, and I can think of no more efficient way than to stuff your C-suite with worthless management.
  16. longhorn city limits gonna get spicy next year
  17. Imma longs for those idyllic internet days when we all steadfastly refused to mock infidelity, when nobody online reacted at all, and instead we prayed that everyone involved could find peace and happiness in the future.
  18. so nothings going on here?
  19. This shit is as old as the internet, a place you are presumably familiar with. But "whats going on here?" You alluded to it upstream, the rest of us are clueless, so help us out.
  20. What the fuck did coldplay do here? Or are you saying that showing people at any public event (concerts, sporting events, etc...) should be banned? WTF? OK explain it to us. Beyond the fact that the internet is, and always has been, a medium to massacre people who fuck up by laughing at them through funny memes. What is unique about this? Even if the dude is in an open marriage, I dont think CEO's are supposed to banging their subordinates, so dont pull this shit in public if you dont want to get caught. What a strange issue to even give one fuck about.
  21. I just thought it would be funny if his name was Navin Johnson instead. Because if so, it would be a crime against humanity to not build his platform on those three mighty pillars. Hell, I'd buy one of everything in the merch store. So I found an online campaign poster generator and here we are. Also, I may have been a little stoned.
