  1. So, Joe Jaworski is running against Paxton, and Mike Collier is running against Patrick (again). They seem like decent candidates but agree the name recognition is pretty weak. Being the grandson of Watergate prosecutor Leon Jaworski is at least something though. Regarding Governor, as much as those of us who pay attention have criticisms of the Castro bros, I think one of them could make a decent run against Abbott. Time to man up.
  2. I don't think Huffhines has a chance. While I've been voting in the R primaries for a while just to vote against all these horribles that keep getting in anyway, there are no circumstances under which I'd vote for Abbott. Let the chips fall where they may.
  3. Anyone who gives a shit about whether some other random family might use a puberty blocker (which is temporary) in consultation with a doctor, because they are potentially dealing with the most stigmatized situation you can encounter, can fuck right off. How the fuck do people asserting much rights/muh freedoms reconcile this authoritarianism?
  4. ATXit (from Texas) or bust.
  5. what would "majority" have to do with anything?
  6. Our secretary tested positive.... she passed out, fell, and had to get 7 staples. Needs to be in the hospital but had to be moved to one with any space. So all of us in the office have been "exposed." Good job to our agency heads who thought it a smart idea to bring us all back into the office at once, during Stage 5 of this shit (and on the first day of AISD, no less).
  7. The data I read showed that myocarditis occurred in that group at least twice as often from Covid than from the vaccine. That's the relevant comparison in my opinion.
  8. When you conceive, generally you're already "2 weeks pregnant." Cool how that works. By the time you miss a period, you're 4 weeks -- and that's only if you have regular cycles. It's total bullshit -- once you also factor in the 72 hr waiting period, and the two appointments you have to have, this is a total ban on abortion. Media needs to stop pussyfooting around with the "almost" stuff. And I guess everyone that is ever going to rape has already raped at least once, so just get those guys and we're golden. JFC
  9. what a gross-looking family, and Buster is a pet's name.
  10. Counterpoint: Institutional disadvantages make it extremely difficult for D's to capture the presidency and both houses of Congress (never mind what R chicanery has done to the judiciary), and when they do get that level of power, they refuse to exercise it.
  11. Taking a step back, I find it really gross how the actualities of this issue are, once again, being discussed over women's heads by people for whom it's really all academic. I could go into my own personal experience of shitty choices foisted upon me when I was young, but what's the fucking point? People for whom this is black and white, rather than a sad, complicated shades-of-grey issue soaked in a history of racial and gender inequity, will never care. When people in such large numbers disagree, and some or many of those people on both sides can be characterized as rational, the default should be that the individual with personal autonomy gets to choose.
  12. the only situation I've used mine for is travel to the Bahamas. So, International travel to some countries.
  13. 2nd Pfizer shot on 3/26 Neg. for previous Covid Antibodies 561.
  14. what the fuck is this?? Findings: We got skullfucked into Gorsuch and Barrett, with an entitled partisan rapist hack sandwiched in between. Fascism commences. Investigation closed.
  15. Not going to google it for you, but only vaxxed people who are infected AND symptomatic have the same viral loads, with regard to spreading it. But being vaxxed helps prevent infection to begin with (obviously) and most who do get infected are asymptomatic or mild, so to say that getting the vaccine doesn't significantly stop the spread, is bullshit.
  16. sorry, meant to quote you.
  17. Slightly dirty, but we've filled out the screener questions on ARC to say asymptomatic in order to skip the appointment requirement. Even then, first available appt for curbside was the following day (this was last week). Neg result by the way. They do have a telemedicine option where you can speak to an on-call doc very quickly (in order to then do a drive-up test anytime), if you pay for some e-med account on there (think it's $40 for a one-off). At-home test if you want to know something immediately, obv. less accurate than the PCR test ARC does.
  18. Yeah like vetoing stuff with broad bipartisan support, like don't leave your dog tied up out in the hot fucking sun all day. He's just an absolutely loathsome cunt with no guiding principles other than performative governance to keep his stranglehold on power.
  19. My kid just got sent home sick. Was nice knowing y'all.
  20. urine test?? Since when is that the thing they do for dwi evidence? Fishy
  21. Sorry your community and your leaders failed you, kids. Senseless.
  22. I think the manlet's head is eligible for the vaccine but his tiny body may not be.
