  1. Dude was being a prick, Im not crying for him. Waited til the stretcher came out then hopped up quickly and walked along the supporters section smirking at the whole crowd. The ref didn't respect us last night and the opponents definitely don't. But if your sensibilities are offended, don't worry, the Verdes leaders were all over it and work with security to get clowns like that kicked out.
  2. Greek smoke tweet from Precourt, looks like this thing is finalized. Haven't seen the highlights yet, but him being our best player immediately is definitely something. I'll be at the game on Wednesday, maybe just maybe he's on the field.
  3. Train is super convenient for me coming from the East side. You can find the schedule on CapMetro's website. But last game I rode back with a friend who just parked at Domain and walked over. I imagine with a late kickoff it might not be too terrible to drive and park tonight.
  4. Agreed. Pereira allows Poche and/or Fagundez to play where they're best at, and Manneh isn't in the "he just needs more PT to shine" stage of his career, he just isn't the solution to an absent Gallagher.
  5. Grew up in Southeast, and although it's a pretty basic area that's not really "desirable", I also don't think it's the shithole some ppl on this thread do. My pops bought his house near Hobby and has been there since 2000. The neighborhood (Glen Valley) has never really been violent, and even though Bellfort is full of apartments I never felt scared walking or running through any of those neighborhoods around Bellfort/Broadway. Don't think he'll stay there now that he's retired, but it's not because it's turning into Detroit, it's just more of a traffic and too many people thing. You could do worse, it's not The Wire in all the neighborhoods outside of the West and North.
  6. Had no idea if they were allowed, but I've snuck into two games with a lighter just with a little sleight of hand at the metal detector . You gotta want that smoke bad enough.
  7. That deserves 3 alrights.
  8. Redes is rough to watch. Hope he tightens up. Also, it's the same story all year..... and only a week until league play resumes.... are we getting a 10 or not? Because I'm starting to think no. And not a 2-year project from Ligue 2.
  9. Good work on the leg breakdowns. I think Conor would've tossed the kicking gameplan in round 2, there was checks and counters coming at him after the first couple leg kicks Conor attempted. It wasn't going to be a winning strategy. I was more interested in the boxing exchanges, since I felt like that was Conor's only hope to win, his quickness/speed and that left hand. Dustin threw 3 or 4 counter lefts after reading Conor's 1-2 (jab-left hand), he was slipping Conor's signature left hand had firing a straight left of his own, and it looked dangerous (think it only caught once or twice). Not sure what else Conor had in his bag after Round 1, while also getting pounded on the ground for a couple minutes, but it didn't look good. Hate to get robbed of him getting put to sleep again, but his little temper tantrum with Rogan was almost as satisfying. Conor needs Dustin to lose next fight if he wants to return to UFC. I don't see him taking a fight with Gaethje or Chandler or whoever else... he'll go fight a Paul brother and live Colby Covington's dream life.
  10. It's nobody's fault but mine (but that first goal was def Stuver, and the 2nd was def Berhalter), but I've been to 3 games this year, and I'll let yall guess what 3. Not giving them any more money without peeking at the starting lineups first. We needed Poch, we definitely couldn't do without Pereira with Poch out. That was the moment. Manneh ran really fast with the ball for like 20 minutes in game 2 and people loved him, but he is not the guy we need to help us fix offensive problems.
  11. I just had a Houstonian friend of mine remind me he's serious about coming into Austin for the Dynamo game. No mention of watching them play in Houston.... but after the videos of our first few games have made the rounds, why wouldn't they want to come check out Q2 for themselves.
  12. Jesus. Heriberto. Cristo. This stage might be getting too big for his shtick.
  13. I will back off of Pochettino for one week. If he is allowed to move forward and can find space like that in the midfield every week (I realize not all teams will allow that in the midfield), he will be just fine for us. I've been calling for his head for weeks but today was different. He's still not better than Cecilio though. Cecigol had 2 assists himself tonight.
  14. LETS GOOOOO VERRDEEEESSSS
  15. Anybody got a decent stream? No FS1 here, only espn. Can't find it on the tube on CW or Univision.
  16. Time to go buy some more pringles for my Giroud, Balotelli and Ozil jerseys.
  17. A french-speaking player to join Olivier Giroud on his way to Austin?
  18. Damn I think casa de tacos has been there forever. The only place my family frequents these days is El Dorado, because they got the carne guisada down and the flour tortillas are homemade and nice & dusty. Only been to Kingsville once in the past 5 years or so though, to lay an uncle to rest. It'll all be memories soon.
  19. Colombian-style chicharrones changed my world a bit. There's a little truck off East 6th (artessano) I ordered from regularly pre-covid.
  20. I was about to say, you can't make a list like that and not have El Pato on there. I still dream about that Chicken Guisada taco (and an order of nachos I think) during the year I lived in Edinburg in 2011. I'm one of those damn Tejanos everybody from other countries seems to misunderstand. Parents from South Texas, an abuela born in Shiner and another in Kingsville. We make up those words because we're only kinda Mexican, and (to some others) only kinda American. As I've grown older I think my dad's growing fascination with Mexico (Kingsville graduate, he served in AF during Vietnam) has rubbed off on me. Not til his 40s/50s did he really start to show an interest in Mexican music, soccer, novelas, w/e. Now I find myself an adult appreciating Mexico and other Latin countries a lot more for how we exist in the U.S. (at least for those of us not afraid of claiming it).
  21. Definitely seen this. He'll also see someone streaking down the side, look them off for other options, and then pass to them after the defense has caught up to them. It's so frustrating, but I'm pretty sure I've seen multiple players do this. It slows down the entire attack and is frustrating. We look most dangerous counter-attacking using speed down the sides, but Poche doesn't seem to value that option.
  22. The last run from Cecilio in the box (coming down the left flank) reminded me that there's a reason he started the season there. He and Manneh actually challenged defenders one on one out wide. I like Stroud and Gallagher, but they don't seem to add more than running really hard out wide. They don't have the confidence to challenge a defender head-on. I also said a few weeks ago Cecilio is better at doing what we are trying to get Pochettino to do, but I'm not sure who would play up top if you drop him to the midfield. That's the conundrum Wolff is in. If you send Cecilio back out wide we got nobody worth a shit to play 9, if you move him back then we still got nobody to play 9.
  23. Paid as a top 3 player on this team and doesn't play like one of our best 7 or 8.
  24. You can find them on SeatGeek's app. But if you join the group, you can get them for face value if anybody is selling through their Slack, so I've heard. The cheapest ticket for Sunday is $115 on SeatGeek, in the supporter's section.
