  1. Why was everyone so somber during the early morning prep for the ride to roundup/brand? I would think that there would have been much excitement and anticipation in doing this the "old fashioned way". But I guess artistic license allows for the refelction of bygone days.
  2. For further clarity I am a Million-miler on Delta and that is all that I fly unless extreme scheduling does not allow it. The lounge acess is not important to me as I can pay as needed. Also almost have a million on AA as well but rarely fly with them anymore.
  3. SIAP. I am looking for recommendations on a Delta Credit Card. In 2023 the $$$ spend to reach Diamond is $20,000 plus the associated mileage. Getting the mileage is never a problem with me but Delta is now raising the dollar spend an addtional $5K. I have not had to worry about it in the past as I always spent at least $15K (using the company credit card) on airfare but getting another $5K is a stretch. With the increase in the dollar requirment I am looking at getting a personal Delta credit card to use to ensure that I reach the new $20K base limit requried. I have never tried to maximimize any of the tricks of the trade but am now interested in doing so. Any advice is appreciated.
  4. No, DEF is not a part of the equation. Just straight fuel.
  5. It looks like I will be traveling to Dusseldorf in mid-to-late January for business purposes. I have never been to Germany before. Plenty of other countries but have just passed through the airports in Germany. I am considering staying over a few extra days to check things out. I know that it will be cold that time of year but would like to take the opportunity as it presents itself. Looking for recommendations on things to do with a slant towards historical places and/or buildings.
  6. I gave a short course (talk) at a SME Conference earllier this year on GHG's. Some data below of what I shared: ●CO2 production ○~22.38 pounds of CO2 are produced by burning one gallon of traditional diesel fuel ○~20.22 pounds of CO2 are produced by burning one gallon of B20 (20% biodiesel) biodiesel fuel. ~17.90 pounds comes from burning the fossil fuel content ○~20.13 pounds of CO2 are produced by burning one gallon of B100 (100%) biodiesel ○~18.95 pounds of CO2 are produced by burning one gallon of E10 (10% ethanol) gasoline. ~17.68 pounds comes from burning the fossil fuel content ○~12.72 pounds of CO2 are produced by burning one gallon of pure ethanol fuel
  7. I have been with my employer for almost 34 years. And, like you, in various capacities including engineering. Today we had a group of engineers together of about 10 of us with about half of us there with 25 plus years with the company. We were reviewing and editing a spreadsheet that I had put together. I was doing one of the repeating steps rather clumsily and one of the young engineers spoke up on an easier way to do it. I thanked him for his contribution and told him that is why we have youngsters in the organization. He admittedly said that he had just Googled on how to do the shortcut.
  8. I have run Coopers in the past but not ATs and had good success. Certainly something to consider. Thanks for the advice.
  9. I have a 3-1/2 year old granddaughter. I was recently at my daughter's house and we were all outside watching my granddaughter showing off on her T-handle scooter (skateboard looking thing). My SIL pulls out his skateboard and is skating around while my granddaughter is on her scooter. My granddaughter asks me to ride the skateboard. I haven't been on a skateboard in YEARS!! But who am I to tell my granddaughter "no"? How hard could it be as I still consider myself athletic for my age? Found my way onto the board and managed to do some Figure-8's for a few minutes without wiping out or falling off. But let me tell you, it was nothing like it used to be. As I was rolling around all I could think of was all of the things that could go wrong. Just another moment of feeling mortal.
  10. Looking for tire recommendations. I have a 2020 Chevy Crew-cab 1500 LT Z71 4WD. I do a lot of highway driving with the occasional dirt or gravel roads when camping or hiking. Presently running Bridgestone Dueler A/T 275/60R20 115S M+S. They have around 62,000 miles on them and I have been happy with them. Have driven them through rain, sleet and snow. Not opposed to going back with them but just checking on any alternatives with either performance or cost differences.
  11. Now he says that the face mask should have been called.
  12. Hmmm...it is dusty where I am too. What a talent and special person.
  13. This site prompted me to get my first one just over a month ago. I have had Colonguard kits sent to me twice but never got around to pooping into a box. I do not have to go back for 10 years. I am 56. Just know, at least for me, once I started to take the tablets the flushing of the body began almost immediately. Make sure that you are near a toilet once you begin the process and plan not to stray too far off. Otherwise you will be posting in the Shart 2022 thread.
  14. I still have DirecTV. I am old. I like flipping channels and seeing the "guide". However, FOX and DirecTV are at odds. Haven't had FOX for a couple of months now. Not happy.
  15. I have missed just 3 days of work over a 34 year period due to illness. The first shingles shot kicked my butt. My temp shot up to 103 and I had chills and sweats. I received it on a Friday and was out of commission Friday night and Saturday morning. Once my fever broke I was fine and dandy. The second shingles shot had no adverse effect at all.
  16. Yellowstone has become like a car wreck. You drive by it and try not to look at the carnage but you just cannot help yourself and you look anyway. I still enjoy the show overall but the Beth sequences are getting a bit tiresome but it is "the way" now with her. Just as Al Capone was taken down for tax evasion is Beth going to be taken down for committing an assault and for not all of the other nefarious things? Is she the new "Scarface"?
  17. Saving Private Ryan Watched it for the upteenth time. Still get emotional every time I see it. I still remember the first time I saw it at it’s release in the theater. The crowd was in complete silence as we left. With each viewing I see something or hear something new each time. Such a great movie.
  18. At the end I believe that Jamie becomes the hero and saves the ranch and puts Beth in her place but finds pity for John Dutton.
  19. This drives me crazy too. I hate a dirty windshield. I do a lot of road trips. My solution:
