  1. I thought that was more of a White Russian guy type of thing.
  2. More like insurance winfall.
  3. Citizen Eco-drive is what you want in that price range. My stainless is my daily beater and is going strong at 15 years old. If there were an apocolypse, I would be wearing a Citizen, not my Omega or Tag. Although I would bring them along for bartering.
  4. I used Richmond Auto Upholstery in Houston. I restored the drivers seat leather, cushion, arm rest, and dash. It wasn't cheap, but that Avalanche looks brand new on the inside. I don't remember exactly, but I think I spent about $1500-2k on the interior. I also replaced the headlights.
  5. Alright I think we’re done here. WTF.
  6. We’ll y’all know where I stand on the matter. I’ve told Priscilla that I’m going right back to the TCU well if anything ever happens to her. That’s a stocked tank right there.
  7. What have you got against Ft Worth? That’s some good second-wife huntin country right there Itellyawhat.
  8. Wut?
  9. Chevy fuel pumps, senders, and gauges have caused me a lot of grief. I thought my truck had a bad problem when it died. Turned out I was out of gas but showing a quarter tank. When my son inherits my 07 Avalanche in a year or two, he’ll probably learn the same lesson if he runs it below a quarter. I never thought about the cooling aspect of the fuel for the pump. Makes sense and good Surly knowledge nugget.
  10. Wife wants a bigger house. I like the house I built, but parking is small for my cars and upcoming teenage cars. A bigger house with a huge driveway 30 miles away would be nice. (Plus changing schools, ouch to kids) IF I buy a bigger house…By the time my kids leave for college, I would have a $65k AC staring me down every summer. Staying with smaller house.
  11. I like this thread. Guy on the right agrees
  12. Wait, I’ve got it. B list actor? is that it?
  13. This might be close to the definition. I don’t know their names. Second guy hooked up with HBO and worked his butt off. Boardwalk Empire, True Detective, and everything else.
  14. Does it mean not-lead actor? Still confused.
  15. Movies are still fun. Y’all are old and not fun. Avsforum.com should be your new hobby.
  16. Speaking of unforeseen expenses. The million dollar family has a $65k AC repair instead of $8k. Or $30k pool repair. Or $15k transmission. Keepin up with the Jones’s ain’t cheep.
  17. Richard Jenkins is perfect in everything
  18. I’ve taken a direct shot of bear mace to the cheek inside a car. It was an accident, but it happened. (I was getting into the back of my buddies back seat to head to the next bar with our chicks on a nice Sunday. My knee hit something that sounded like ahairspray bottle. Is that hair spray or what? Everybody out!) It didn’t shut me down immediately, but 8 seconds later I was barfing. Ten minutes later I was driving home. 30 minutes later I took a shower and the mace washed down to my junk. Long afternoon but I wasn’t acting a fool like that skinny fool.
  19. That was not the Grateful Dead, it was The Dead (Jerry was dead). And Pat didn't fuck up their show, The Dead did. They played Space for (what seemed like) 40 minutes at a country show. I was there. I apologized to Phil and Bob for Austin booing them off. They should have played the hits at a show like that. Every redneck wanted to see Pat and Toby singing about beers and beer drinking horses.
  20. I assume she wore this shirt....all day.
  21. Oh, are we talking about idot drivers? I got one that just happened. I'm unloading groceries and lil' Stetson got loose (still training). I'm trying to wrangle him. I hear a car at high RPM coming around the corner. I step out and do the slow down (hand high to low) signal. Driver decides to speed up and go full power to their house TEN HOUSES AWAY! I wrangle dog, get in my truck and go knock on their door....hard. I grown man anwers the door. I say "are you a grown-up?" He says yes. Do you drive that car right there? He says no, that's my step daughter's car. Well I'm Elvis and I live right there. I tell him what happened. We both agree that teenage drivers are dumb. He'll talk to her about it. Then he says, "I understand, I probably would have done the same thing." Then he says, " Actually probably not, I wouldn't have done that, but I understand." We shake on it. Settled. For now.
  22. Astrud Gilberto
  23. In a real situation, I think I would just keep my mouth shut, do the right thing, and work hard. That might also include throwing a punk overboard and sleeping with my eyes open. But that doesn’t make very good TV. Or does it?
  24. Belongs in my Dyin thread
