  1. This is stupid. Preseason polls don't mean anything 'til these Texags posters have their say: I am confident we will be much better and be in the CFP. The CFP is the only thing that matters. My prediction for the teams to make the CFP i am very excited by our ranking and texas ranking. it will make this season that much sweeter. I know everyone one here that pays attention already knows this one, but that list shows just how bad the schedules between OU and sips their first two years were biased. 21 is higher than we've finished in all of the past 4 seasons. So that would be an improvement. I know we do what we do but objectively we have a top 5 talent level and even with doubt, a top 10 team. They're only #1 so tv can call it a 1 vs 2 on saturday when texas goes to ohio when your 21 your not a huge disappointment if you don't win big but if your number 1 you are. i think we surprise this year and texas disappoints I am not surprised that we are ranked 21st and 9th in the SEC. An SEC schedule is a grinder for most teams, and I am glad we only play 4 of the teams ahead of us and 2 of them at home. Hopefully, we can finish ranked for the first time since 2020. Edited to feature an even stranger pic.
  2. Please don't mention Jimbo. Now I have sadz.
  3. Someone look up the Statute of Limitations in the state of Texas cause we were robbed!
  4. Great to hear. I’ll follow them next year. It was a great season w smaller schools winning it all but would like to see Texas do better.
  5. Wow that’s awesome. Will he be on the team next year? I’ll b sure to watch for him.
  6. Let's hope Texas football is fueled for the 2025-2026 season with motivation for the University of Texas Ultimate Frisbee team's 2025 D1 Playoff loss to hated Oregon State. With the game tied at 14-14, Oregon State took advantage of an untimely Texas turnover to pull out the win. Here is the emotionally crushing final three minutes, including the 'Horn's Down' sign from the Beavers following the loss.
  7. The Colorado detectives, including FBI, claim they read Chris Watt's* deleted texts to his mistress the same day he was interrogated, which was only two days after he committed the murders. They must have some pretty amazing software. *Chris Watts is the moron who murdered his pregnant wife and two young daughters in 2018 in Colorado cause he was having an affair with a co-worker. The story captivated the internet because he was so freaking normal, and because it was one of the first case where every aspect of it was recorded on camera. It's really amazing to go back and watch all the videos on YouTube, especially the interrogation, since the detectives did a masterful job of getting him to confess. This is the answer I was looking for. Thanks so much.
  8. I don't think the text messages bode well for Isaiah. Rather than deny anything, he apologizes. Life is often messy and there may have been a misunderstanding between them about boundaries. Or, it could be a clear case of sexual assault. Regardless, I sure hope he can get this behind him and get on with his career. He has come so far from his childhood, where he overcame profound poverty. I sure would hate it if this turns out to be a, "Whatever happened to Isaiah Bond?," story.
  9. Well, that was an unfortunate choice of language.
  10. Question for all you lawyer types out there like @South Austin and @Lidig8r: How are text messages substantiated in court? Does there need to be some verification provided by the service provider? I could easily fake text messages to appear legit. Also, as is referenced in the affidavit, is it common for the police to be instructing someone what to text to ensnare a suspect? I know that was done with the Scott Peterson/Laci Peterson murder case in SF, where detectives instructed his mistress what to say when she called him (and they were secretly recording the calls). Not that I have situation similar to that. I didn't imply that at all.
  11. My younger daughter's office is at 52nd and Park. She was out of the office on business but the office was locked down and everyone said it was crazy.
  12. Well, here is some background about the texts from the affidavit filed by her. Not sure it is definitive either way. Her side contends his text apology is an admission of guilt and his side contends she was negotiating for a payout. Over text, Bond told the woman he would be in the Frisco area for training related to the upcoming NFL Draft and asked if she would be willing to meet up, per the affidavit. The affidavit says their text conversations then turned to mutual discussions of having sex and engaging in one act in particular, which the victim said she would consider. According to the affidavit, the two eventually met in person on Feb. 4 and began a consensual sexual encounter after drinking wine. During their interaction, the affidavit says, Bond brought up the notion of the act they'd previously discussed in their text exchanges. The affidavit says, Bond told the woman, “alcohol makes me do things” and asked her to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). She refused. (That's not a text) After leaving, the affidavit says the woman texted Bond, saying, "Isaiah you were wrong for that I asked you to stop and you kept covering my mouth. I'm in a lot of pain." Bond responded, "You want a 1000 I'm really sorry!" and "Would that make it feel better," the affidavit states. She responded “What? 5k,” and then “1k? Like you asked me to sign then you offer me money? So you know what you did that’s why you covered my mouth.” While meeting with officers at the Frisco Police Department on Feb. 20, the affidavit states the woman texted Bond again as part of a "pretextual interview," and when the woman asked him for an apology, he responded with "I did..." The woman responded, saying, "apologizing by trying to pay me isn't a real apology Isaiah you really hurt me and I kept telling you to stop," to which Bond replied, "I'm sorry," according to the affidavit.
  13. I haven't followed it very closely. I will look for them.
  14. This sucks so much. I met Bond and really liked him, and i absolutely hate this for him. Of course it’s a he said/she said and I have no idea what really happened, but it’s really sad, regardless. I hope this can get resolved soon and Bond can put this behind him and have a great pro career. What a nightmare!
  15. I got jumped by some two KU fans in Lawrence. The woman was a 40-something, data-entry professional. She was overweight, and wore a brightly-colored polo, Old Navy stretch-jeans and a pink, acrylic fanny-pack, and a KU golf visor, plus giant pink sunglasses that looked like Gucci knock-offs. The man was in his 50's. He had an identity card attached to his short-sleeve button-down, which identified him as a state employee. He was overweight, so he wore straight-legged, medium-rise slacks with no pleats to minimize his bulk. His shirt should have been a size larger, as it pulled around the neck, so he left the top button open, which I thought was a good solution.
  16. Perhaps she feels guilt at having sent her to a camp and feels ultimately responsible for her daughter's death, and this is her way of coping with it. Again, as a parent, I can't imagine the grief I would feel if one of my daughters died in such a horrific way. She is now living in a world that no longer makes any sense. We need to cut her some slack. I once created a video for Texas Parks & Wildlife Department to teach teens about lake drownings and how to avoid them. We found and interviewed parents who has lost teens and put them on. camera. It was one of the hardest things I've ever done and I'm still friends with two of the families. The grief they feel is so profound even today. One of the moms told me that as their children's friends experience their new milestones, like graduation, college marriage, etc, they feel the loss all over again. Love your kids. They can be taken away in an instant.
  17. Here is the actual video. Her daughter died in the flood and she is trying to make it have meaning, I guess. I do feel sorry for her. No mother should have to go through what she has gone through.
  18. "Twin Peaks’ flood relief fundraiser — the results are in, and they’re big. Thanks to the support of loyal guests across the state, the Texas-born brand raised $105,525 in just two days to support families and first responders affected by the recent flooding." Nice when the people of supposedly low moral standing do more to help the people of Texas than our Holier than Thou GOP assholes.
  19. I can only wish to be able to write something that fabulous.
  20. His narrative is definitely different from the MAGA morons in Kerrville city government. He falls more under the greed, hubris and complacency bucket. May the lawsuits forever expose his failures so we can stop with this insane, "he was a heroe"* Facebook narrative. *Typical spelling I see 😡
  21. Well, that escalated quickly.
